The Nation reports:

Generally, conservatives and progressives are on opposite sides of every issue. But on the July 13 edition of Bill Moyers Journal, conservative constitutional scholar Bruce Fein, who prepared articles of impeachment against President Bill Clinton, and Nation Washington Correspondent John Nichols agreed that there is a substantial case for impeaching President Bush.

What constitutional justification is there for NOT impeaching Bush? I can't see one.

I saw this on PBS the other night, and thought FINALLY, someone is talking sense in this country about the wrongs of the Bush Admin. These guys make a great case for going ahead with the process now. The GOP had no problem dragging us through an ugly impeachment process because Clinton lied about a BJ, so the Dems being scared to bring charges against Bush, when there's mountains of evidence of multiple crimes is short sighted. We HAVE to get beyond political calculations in this country and once in a while, do something because it's the right thing to do.

I recorded this show and skipped intros. I was floored when I found out that Mr. Fein is a conservative! The transcript can be found here.

Usually when I hear descriptors such as "conservative" & "constitutional scholar" in close proximity, I prepare for the worst (not to mention stints at the usual suspects in the world of Right-wing think tanks). But, man, this Fein feller was absolutely on target. What a passionate & clear statement of the role that States[people] should play. Utterly refreshing.

I hope that his spirit of (in this case, at least) bi-partisan commitment to the founding principles of our country can be seized upon & utilized during the coming crisis. Further, may the type of leadership he describes so well become the norm.

It's about time.

Cindy Sheehan, Ray McGovern, David Swanson, Lennox Yearwood, and the others who went today to talk impeachment, have apparently been arrested.
