For the last week or so, Homeland Security head Michael Chertoff has been understandably mocked and ridiculed for announcing that he has a "gut feeling" the United States will be attacked by terrorists this summer. In the video to your right, Conan O'Brien introduces a new color-coded threat level chart which incorporates Chertoff's new terrorism "feeling" criteria.

Whether or not there might be any 'attack', if this report is correct then anti-insurgency troops within Iraq are being retrained in preparedness for being redeployed against an "insurgency" within the U.S.

Excerpt:
(The report) "states that because of "growing popular unrest in the United States, caused by the prolonged war in Iraq coupled with obvious Congressional inaction," the U.S. military has drawn up plans for combating domestic U.S. civil insurrections. This is not a theoretical study but a very specific one. Units to be used domestically are listed in detail as are detention centers, etc.

"As a result of this, plans are now in train to segregate, retrain and reequip certain anti-insurgent U.S. military units now serving in Iraq and to prepare them for quick transfer back to the United States for use "as needed" The Pentagon command believes that such civil insurrections are not only a possibility but a very real probability in the event that the President and his advisors maintain their present course vis a vis the Iraqi war."

A comedian I like once said that a lot of people "lost it" as a result of 9/11. And this is true: Jerry Falwell's vile remarks about who allowed the attacks to happen; dopey conspiracy theories; the Republicans' exploitation of 9/11 for their own agendas (which does NOT seem to include protecting Americans); impotent Democrats; and now this comical debate about threat assessment. At the risk of oversimplifying the issue, here's the bottom line, duly summarized in one sentence: Despite the Republican Party's shameless propensity for exploiting 9/11 and the "war on terror," a catastrophic terrorist attack on US soil is indeed imminent.

They do a great job of bragging about how wonderful they are at protecting your ass from terrorists, while simultaneously trying to keep you perpetually afraid of terrorists.

It's kind of like Daddy hovering the threat of the belt over your head, and also exercising the capricious power of withholding that punishment.

Golly, gee whiz... A Terrorist Attack is "IMMINENT"! Do you right wing whackoffs also do an Irish jig while chanting
'A Terrorist Attack is Imminent"? Another puking right wing seigheiler heard from!

Check how this conincides with the increase in "How Al Quida has rebuilt itself" and any NY sewer or steam line explosion is first posted by Mainline Terror News as possibly terrorist. Everytime I see this being done and the sheeple running in all directions, it makes me want to bitch-slap the first runner I can catch.

You know...people. Ya really need to to take a look at what you're going to post before you put it up here. I recommend Notepad (or any thousand of other simple text writer/keepers). This will allow you to examine your hard right or left tendencied and neutralize them, if you are so disposed.

Here, grab this site, all you wuzzy sheeple, and plug into the Guvments Terror alerts.
Post it as a desktop shortcut and enlist in the email alert system so you aren't too far from Bush/Chertoff pukeScreams. Enjoy the artificially induced adrenaline!

...aka the walking cadaver, is fear mongering to keep the voters in intimitated and in line.
After all the hate and war the Bushistas/Rethugs have perpetrated another terrorist attack is highly likely and Bush will do his best to make it so, one way or the other. Depend on it.
