It's been quite a week for Michael Moore. He made mince meat out of Wolf Blitzer on Monday. Served a can of whoop ass to Dr. Sanjay Gupta on Tuedsay. Wednesday ostensibly was his day of rest, and now he finally gets to sit down with someone who's on his wavelength---MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. This interview is a virtual lovefest, but there are also some significant points made. The reason Moore's criticism of CNN hit such a nerve, is because so many of us are still angry with networks like them, who played such a crucial role in selling Bush doctrine nonsense to the public.

In 2003, I returned home from a college break, aware that we were in the midst of invading Iraq. I didn't want or have access to much television on my campus, but based on what I'd read I was under the impression that the entire action was based on the existence of WMD. I still opposed the war but that's neither here nor there. I turned on my TV set back home and was stunned to see the military action being called "Operation Iraqi Freedom" on CNN. Iraqi freedom? I thought this was supposed to be some bullshit about "protecting America"? Why was CNN unabashedly excepting this term? Why were they buying into this notion that this whole preemptive action was about "liberating Iraqis"? It was this curiosity mixed with rage that set me on the path to becoming a journalist myself and I can say confidently that for many of my peers, it was this unjust, disastrous war, that inspired us to get into the field. Not because we'd admired the work that was being done to cover the war, but precisely because we hated it and wanted to change it. The media's laziness and timidity during the initial stages of this war will always be a black mark on the fourth estate's soul. But at least there are some of us who are heeding Moore's message as we look to the future.

I still remember the pictures of the 'embedded" "journalists" driving with the troops to Baghdad. They were as high as Kites!
Who needs drugs! These guys were high on shock & awe. Unfortunately so were the American populous.

of a lazy American public. Very few protests, letters to the editor (like anyone actually READS newspapers anymore) or even curiosity from the American public. You get more concern over who wins American Idol. Also more coverage.

Armchair Activists

People in this country have become armchair activists thinking that all they need to do is click the link to feed hungry children in Africa or send a formatted letter to their Congressman (and get an automated response back) or sign that online petition. The internet is a wonderful thing but our politicians are laughing all the way to the bank. Like Moore showed in his film when people in Europe are riled up about things they don't like they take it to the streets. We are becoming lazier and more interested in what Britney Spears is doing than what our own President is doing. What's wrong with us? The point about American Idol attention hits home. How can we fix this?

How about making a documentary about how the MSM is run (and therefore the contents are determined) by a bunch of Repug shills?

The Mainstream Media has lied to us a lot. They're actually criminals. They've done us harm.

It's hard to take in.

Blame Ourselves First

Our acceptance of the 9-11 hoax gave all who are spoken against now the license to steal our rights. The 9-11 hoax makes the JFK official story seem like a absolute law. I voted for him twice thinking cause I have a good job I could just go along with NWO BS, because we were the tip of the spear, and not at the spears tip! Then their constant assault on our constitutional rights became their main theme. So I joined the rest of the Lemmings rushing back to the same Right-Left BS, and voted to what is apparent to all, but the most die hard of either side, their brother ciminal in arms the Dem's. Then these clowns start just talking about the 2008 election the day after it? As if our message that we sent them was about something other then impeachment, and the restoration of our constitutional rights? Then they dust of the TEK immigration bill, and we bypass that bullet by the side that I voted against last election standing up an saying NO. The Dem's are still in fairytale land by thinking that after missing our heads with that shot, that anyone who switched last election will vote for them again! Exposing 9-11 may be our only hope now of waking this country up to the fact that we need to start over again. Our whole history of mankind as taught to us in school are lies. Please, I urge everyone who reads this just help to shake someone near you awake. I could put links up, but why. Its taken me over 43 years of reading to come to that conclusion, and my memory while not photographic is close to that. There is no time for most to have read what I have, or to get to the point on the plane of thinking where I am. There is not part of the 9-11 hoax that is even close to a fact. It is our best hope of waking the people, the regular people up to that fact. The Politicians, Judges, and the Media KNOW IT IS ALL A LIE. I want my Superman values back. Truth, Justice, and the Real American way.

You are so right that the truth about 9/11 needs to come out and be known by all. As long as we live the lie of the White House's version of 9/11 we will never have a democracy or any kind of freedom. We do not have one now, but maybe some day we will. This is a grave situation we are in. The people controlling our country are vicious and will stop at nothing to gain all the power and money that they can. The New World Order is a reality. Citizens must unite, communicate and demand our country back, an end to this terrible war, question this huge national debt, put corporations in check, on and on. There is a lot to do now, not to wait for the sad joke of the 2008 election.
