Have the presidential candidates become any less stupid on the Iraq issue? Not by a long shot.

As the Republican candidates like Mike Huckabee and Rudy Giuliani eagerly suggest that they may put more troops in Iraq if they become president, the Democrats have often been just as disappointing (see Hillary's blame the Iraqis speech). Why can't these candidates get their act together on what should be the most important issue in the 2008 race for the White House? Rachel Maddow investigates in this most recent episode of "Campaign Asylum", check out the video to your right for more.

A biting, piercing, incisive look at the abysmal dipshits in the GOP and, of course, Hillary "The Parrot" Clinton. With all the certified cretins running for office, an amazing amount of despair is creeping into my thoughts of this next election. Is that the extent of the intelligent people we can find to run this government? Why have a government? Why not run it from our computers with the proviso that no one can vote on a bill until it has been read and discussed on site for a week.

The despair is really running deep right now!

Rachel, brilliant as usual. This country is surrounded by talking heads (politicians, msm, strategists, cronies, corporate fascists, religious freaks, talk show deliverance fools) and their never-ending stream of smack about the entire Iraq politically-motivated Republican-inspired war. It's just obvious that we've gone bat-shit with our elected leaders and the absurd state of affairs that just keeps on going, doling out the insanity - amidst one Repug scandal after another. But that's ok - the world watches as the Dems parade around with their little soundbites, looking stupid and posturing lamely - when was the last time the Dem leadership went on a marathon 24/7 to get to that 60 votes it just can't quite ever muster.

And what's wrong with Hillary? Everything. Yes, to a woman. No, to Hillary. She just can't stand up and have one bit of goddamned backbone, can she. We might as well admit that we are living in the matrix because as a nation, we're just all standing around and wringing our hands like retards.

Not really. I'm waiting for someone who would call their shtick "spin you'll like better." Not that Rachel's spin is all that bad.
