"Republicans Live in an Alternative Reality" [VIDEO]

Posted by Adam Howard at 3:48 PM on July 4, 2007.

When your political party praises criminals like Jack Abramoff, Oliver North and Scooter Libby, you're in a lot of trouble.

In the video to your right Mike Papantonio of Air America's Ring of Fire and GoLeft TV talks about how in the modern GOP's alternative reality men like "Scooter" Libby, who have in many cases often participated in treason, are somehow folk heroes and by allowing these "in house thugs" to go free, Bush and Cheney get commended instead of reprimanded. They're seemingly proud of their leaders' corruption, proud of their judicial system double standards, the list goes on and on. While the far right rejoices over this commutation of Libby's sentence, those of us who know better, will know this is their national undoing.

While we're at it, let's not forget convicted felons Chuck Colson and G. Gordon Liddy, both of whom have risen to the status of heroes among right wing Republicans.

Otherwise they would be the first to call for impeachment and removal from office of Bush, Cheney and Gonzoles - for starters.

As a patriot and a Democrat, I consider congressman Jefferson of Louisiana a profound embarassment and want to see him gone ASAP - along with the legion of corrupt Republicans.

the likes of Jefferson. Repukes raise these idiots to the level of folk heroes. I can't help but wonder how many comic books will be in GWB's library. The only reason I would go to Texas is to piss on his grave after he croaks.

OK, Conservasaurus, complain about my language again. You do not deserve anything civil.

Reality has no alternative. Though crazy sounds about right. Far too many excuses are made for their bizarre behavior. They do not have the best interest of the country in mind while they trash the Constitution, which also has no alternative. Some things are not about 'choices'. It's time they were stopped. Thanks, ANNA

Are we finally talking about the drug war?

I heard the m word a couple of times.

On that front, here is an interesting bit of news about Kaiser. Monday I received a phone call from a nurse, my Tuesday appointment has been canceled... I wait on that and she finally adds another appointment has been made for me, Friday the 13th.

Cute, real cute.

The same or next day I received a piece of mail from god Kaiser. I could only emotionally handle opening it up this morning, Jeff has resumed talking to me again. It's a satisfaction survey, sent to me from the very loving, kind and exceptionally caring people at the very top of the Kiaser pyramid. Robert Pearl, Executive Director of the Permanente Medical Group and Mary Ann Thode, President of the Northern California Foundation Hospitals, they want to know how I feel about my last appointment. How thoughtful.

Now, we are all aware the government can declare me an 'enemy' and have full access to Kiaser's file on me, give Kiaser orders on how to treat me, right? Or, does their bad care of me have something to do with my religion, my race, my sex? I asked them over and over again for a Native American Dr. No dice. Kaiser told my husband I was a nut. Did it it suit their political purposes or are they just anti-woman?

My favorite question just has to be the highlighted one: "If Dr. ---------- used a computer in the exam room during your visit on June 22, 2007, would you say" and it asks me to evaluate the impact.

When I showed her my post on her computer, it kinda pulled off this little curtain of denial they were clinging to, I guess I'd have to say that was positive. I'm wondering, do I need to I start taking a lawyer with me on these appointments? Gee wiz.

I think, and this is speculating on my part, my Dr. started to really do the research on me and discovered my story was all true (how inconvenient for her boss and associates). Kiaser's position is I am delusional, evidence to the contrary was all previously ignored. Oops, they discovered that I've documented all this publicly on the web.

I do not think canceling my latest appointment when everyone knows I am suicidal is an appropriate response. Was this so you could give me some time to fill out a 'satisfaction' survey? Something to add to your legal file on me? More paper to cover Kiaser's butt? I went to the library and checked out a few books on the medical history of mental care. Wow! Torture is an appropriate word to describe the history of this branch of medicine, it is a nightmare.

Second best question - warmth and caring. I'll leave it to you all to decide how I'll probably answer that one.

Hey, I got my facts wrong on that pot smuggler who was shot in the butt. It wasn't murder, only attempted murder. My mistake. Interesting that both CNN and FOXN ran the story that afternoon and evening - to correct my error? Wow dudes, I thought 'big media' didn't have to pay any attention to the little likes of people like me.

We went to see Sicko yesterday.

I cried lots of times, it is a hard movie to watch. I'm really glad he made it, it needed to be said. I especially appreciate the hopeful message. The hardest moment for me was when the woman realized her super expensive medicine, the stuff bankrupting her in the states, costs pennies in Cuba. The way she emotionally broke down is exactly how I feel.

On the other hand, Canada, Cuba, Mexico, Europe... they are all starting to look pretty good.
