White House Covered Up Safety Concerns After 9/11 [VIDEO]

Posted by Adam Howard at 5:45 AM on June 26, 2007.

Former EPA Administrator Christie Todd Whitman tries to explain the logic of the Bush Administration's preoccupation with the markets and shopping instead of the safety of New Yorkers and 9/11 workers.

Can we officially retire the phrase "letting the terrorists win" from our nation's vernacular at this point? I hope so. I was heartened and overjoyed to see my crappy former governor, Christie Todd Whitman (I'm from Jersey originally) and EPA administrator for the Bush Administration during 9/11, roundly booed for making that comment in the video to your right. It's even more poignant to know that she was being booed by the very 9/11 workers and their families who are suffering from and in some cases dying from having inhaled air that Whitman repeatedly insisted on the nation's airwaves was safe. There are of course others to blame for this tragedy of neglect. For many, Rudy Giuliani was the elephant in the room. But I don't think for a second that Whitman should be allowed to pass off the buck and gratefully the congressional Democrats at her hearing didn't let her. Check out the video to your right for more.

And she was nothing but a lying pawn for this Bushit administration. I could see the smoke from the WTC site from my house, and I remember thinking, "What is the b--ch talking about?" Bush and his entire cadre should be drawn and quartered-they are all liars and murderers. It is so hard to put into words how much I hate this man, his party, and his proponents and puppets.

Well, folks... turns out... Orwell was right in at least some ways... as much as people have wanted to make fun of all the people quoting the whole "hate is love, etc.." speach for the last few years.

two to three hundred times safe levels changed to "safe to go back to work"... to keep the markets open. The translation of that goes thusly: Your lives aren't important, you peons... so you better get back to work to keep OUR economy.. the economy of the wealthy of corporate America... open and running full speed no matter what it does to you.

Let a professional weigh in...why isn't there a professional at that hearing? The amount of asbestos present in a building material (such as vinyl flooring) is measure in percent! Greater than 1 % defines a building material as an asbestos-containing material. Concentration is air is a totally different animal; it is measured as number of fibers per cubic centimeter! The Permissibel Exposure Limit is 0.1 fiber per cc (over an 8-hour period). The (10 minute) Short Term Exposure Limit is 1 fiber per cc. The disinformation presented in this hearing is astounding!

Recent article from The New England Journal of Medicine on The Legacy of World Trade Center Dust.

Of course, this is probably not as bad as the legacy of Depleted Uranium that we leave all over the place, but it's still not good.

9/11 first responder are sick and dying

The first victim of 9/11 was truth. The first responders are very sick and are dying. Check out first responder Mike Ryan's interview regarding the toxic dust and his cancer issues on Youtube. It is very interesting. He has three different types of cancer and, at 41, he is dying from working at the toxic sites. He has four children.
These people need help. There will be thousands of people dealing with this.

Ms. Whitman's Forked Tongue

Christy Whitman sure has chutzpah: she's a bullsit virtuosa
of the first order.

Towards noon on 9-12-01, Westfield, NJ, where I reside, was enveloped in a stinking cloud of smoke from the WTC site.

In the days following 9-11 I made phone calls to the EPA and/or the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (I can't remember whether one or both), asking each time to speak with knowledgeable individuals. I inquired what the nature was of air samples collected in New Jersey after 9-11.

Each time I was assured there was no difference, either quantitatively or qualitatively, in the particulates being collected from what obtained before the mess at ground zero. I knew this had to be untrue and that a big coverup was under way. (What with a GOP administration in place in Washington, the needs of business would be placed above the health of ordinary citizens.)

Unfortunately most people are not well educated/educated, and most believe anything the government says. So when Ms. Whitman made her infamous utterances, she caused intentional harm.

Whitman's qualms about what the Bush administration was requiring of her led to her leaving her post at the EPA, I believe.

FEAR RULED CHRISTIE'S HEARING
Posted by: chanceny on Jun 26, 2007 12:50 PM
Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
The fly on the wall, the invisible, yet oddly felt presence that silently, yet loudly, buzzed in the inner sanctum of Christie's whitewashed ear, like an angered hornet, was, indeed, Rudy. She, I'm sure, tried gallantly, yet in the end, vainly, to screen her phone calls so she could avoid the deluge of offered (the kind you 'can't refuse') authorized talking points, primers on the art of obfuscation and how to carefully protect from further scrutiny, how extremely important it was 'for all concened' for her to completely de-Rudyize the atmosphere. She knew the rules. It was basically to utilize the same game plan she implemented as provided by the bushies. That time it was necessary to get Wall Street back on the greenback track, screwing whomever had the bad luck of breathing anywhere in the vicinity of the carnage that surrounded them. But, she did say masks were to be worn, didn't she? This time would be a piece of cake. Use the same BS. Act indignant when confronted by hostility, stay haughty when your principles are treated with scorn, humanize yourself by emoting your grief, but, nomattawhat, mention the one currently being groomed to head the new regime. Unless you intend to heap praise upon the shiny head of 'America's Mayor', don't mention the unmentionable. You should point your well manicured finger in any direction, hell, blame the volunteers at Ground Zero for trespassing, but don't be wagging that digit in Rudy's puss. Man, he's quite the fly on the wall and so very well-connected, if you know what I mean. Just ask Bernie Kerick. Even this mister macho kept his mouth shut tight when it came to scuffing up his Rudymeister. So, give Christie a break here. After all, she's just a mere woman, protecting her kneecaps along with the rest of the ass-kissing republican stooges.

. NYC Health/Safety info WAS withheld from the public..

Health safety information was being withheld from the public, according to a Newsweek Web Exclusive of Oct 5, 2001. (The extent that the EPA were aware of this, or whether they had any role in the removal, - I don't know.)

A study was carried out in Sept 01 by Virginia firm, HP Environmental. It found that "the force of the explosions apparently shattered the asbestos into fibers so small that they evade the EPA's ordinary testing methods".

“This stuff was just crushed, just pulverized,” says lead author Hugh Granger. “As it turns out, when we now measure and look for these very small fibers in the air and buildings, we find them, and we find them in uniquely elevated concentrations.”

“I find this very troublesome,” says Dr. Philip Landrigan, director of environmental and occupational medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan and a leading expert on asbestos toxicity. “The smaller the particle, the more easily it can be aerosolized.”

"Granger, an HP Environmental principal, says he found asbestos within several blocks of ground zero, including inside closed and undamaged offices nearby and as high up as 36 stories."

"Granger et al. tried to publish their findings on the Web site of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, which has become something of a clearinghouse for information related to the cleanup efforts.

"After a hasty review among colleagues, the AIHA posted the paper and a press release last Wednesday, only to remove it a few hours later.

"At first the authors were told a “Gremlin in the Web site” was the reason it simply vanished, but now a staffer says the paper will be subjected to a more rigorous peer-review process before being made public, a process that could take weeks or months."

where their priorities were .
