Obama's speech has already become one of the most buzzed about of the speeches so far at the Take Back America conference in Washington DC. Obama talks about his activist roots in Chicago, about why and how he came to decide to run for president, and the deep feeling he believes exists in this country to "turn the page" and embrace "something new." What comes across in the video to your right, is the charisma and personality that made Obama a star back in 2004 and appeared to be fading in recent weeks. If this video is any indication, Hillary had better watch her back in the 2008 presidential race.

More of the same lightweight fluff from Obama. His act is wearing thin.

Not even that really as there is no illusion required for the so called progressives to get the buzz from Charlatans like Obama.

Just another actor.

This was a well written speech with average delivery. A more gifted speaker could have raised goosebumps. The key talking points are all there in this speech, so we'll be better able to clearly identify exactly what will NOT change during the next presidency.

But no other mainstream candidate is even skirting these main issues or taking such a clear direction. The hope he describes is exactly what this country needs, and while his skills at rallying us from apathy may be lacking, the message is on target. This speech did help me see a little more of the 'real' Obama as something other than an ambitious Ivy Leaguer.

(side note: I cringe whenever i hear that phrase "progressive majority")

This website does a lot to endorse the likes of Obama and Hillary. I say, let`s push for those politicians who see the threat of America from within. Like the I.R.S or the C.I.A. or BIG PHARMA or the Federal Reserve or anyone who would try to circumvent the Constitution. Wouldn`t it be great to have the 2008 Presidential Race come down to 2 people, like Ron Paul vs. Mike Gravel? That`s when we would TAKE BACK AMERICA!

Obama uses charisma to hide his corporate regime policies

Paul Street has done a great job at looking behind the curtain at the actual policies of Obama. Here are some links. Don't be a dupe. Being progressive is not about being charismatic. It is about worldview. And policies.

Here is a speech Obama gave about foreign policy:

http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/fpccga

Noticably absent from this speech is any reference to the two pillars of progressive foreign policy:

Benevolence and not selfish "national interest."
The global rule of law, not the so-called "global war on terror."

It takes some work to pull the curtain back to expose the corporate, militarist policies of this man, for he shows himself as a charismatic, self-proclaimed "progressive." He isn't. Not yet anyway.

Kucinich, The Green Party, Nader, Chomsky, the Progressive Caucuses in many of the state Democratic Parties: they have articulated progressive foreign policies.

goes straight to my enemies list. Granted I didn't like him before I found that out, but it was because of his double speak ability. HE IS NOT SINCERE.
