Another Unwinnable "War"

Just like the "War on Terror," the "War on Drugs" is another bumper sticker slogan. It's great for curing electile disfunction, but it is no cure for the underlying problem, and actually exacerbates it. But then, bumper stickers do win elections, don't they?

Not many Americans realize but the last 30 years the US has become a police state. 2.2 million incarcerated, that's 1 in every 136 US citizens. That compared with about 60,000 Japanese which has a crime rate of 25% of the US but an incarceration rate that's less than 10% of the US rate....clearly crime rate is not related to incarceration rate in the USA.
