The video to your right, MC Hammer, best known as the man in the parachute pants who had a one-hit-wonder in "U Can't Touch This" and then much publicized descent into bankruptcy shortly thereafter has a new persona: the earnest anti-war rapper. This is the video for his new single "Bring Our Brothers Home". Will this help or hurt the cause? His lyrics are, to use 90's parlance, pretty whack, but his intentions appear to be noble.

That's great that Hammer wants the troops home, but this song/video is totally erroneous. 9/11 had nothing to do with Saddam, but Hammer obviously doesn't realize that. This isn't a very informed, or even thoughtful video which makes me wonder if Hammer's just hoping to cash in on the war. I doubt it as he's always seemed a decent fellow. But this is far too incorrect to be utilized in a peace effort.

Then again, whatever, we're already there. If Hammer gets the troops home, no matter how uninformed he is, then I say God bless 'im.

It's got a nice slow melody will have good appeal to older people whose kids might be thinking of going to war. The pictures are compelling and it's not angry. It represents a little crack in the seven mind boggling years of denial by republicans.Obviously if they were so smart they would have cried out against at least the Iraq portion of the war. Now we're re-arming the Sunni's, ha! It's going to take centuries to work out what the hell these monsters thought they were doing. "Bring them home"and a picture of us marching with signs that say "no blood for oil" that's all in there too. Thank you for letting me listen to it and call me when Jay-z orders up something better.

It's great that he wants to end the war and bring troops home, but he has really bought the lies of this administration: we all know Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, we all know that Bush went into Afghanistan 2 months too late, etc., etc. "Our man G.W."? *eyeroll*

this just translates as an ass-kissing way to politely ask W to reconsider his position on the war. i can't shake the feeling that this is an attempt to cash in on the anti-war wave now that it's going stronger than ever. where was his plea for change when it was not so popular to stand against the war? he's jumping on the bandwagon, yes....and better late than never.....but if he's going to be this late, he better get some facts straight and bring something WAY MORE POWERFUL into the world than THIS.

Depeche Mode, Everything Counts in Large Amounts. Yeah, Hammer might have wrongly linked Iraq and 9/11 but at this point, if we can convince Decider to Bring 'em Home, that misconception can be rectified. And it does have a nice chorus. Though what's with the effin' hand signing? Still, thanks Hammer-please hurt 'em...and good luck.

Forget it. W will NEVER "bring 'em home." The amassed citizenry could be banging at the gates, DEMANDING they come home...and W would probably turn his wingtip chair's back to the door; turn up the TV; and hope they all go away, before he changes his mind.

In looking at this video, I felt mostly disgust, and pity. Disgust in the lack of education MC Hammer knows about the issue he so passionately sings about; and pity, in realizing how far we have to go before this terrible war is over.

We shouldn't be cooing "bring 'em home," to the President and Congress via a slick, pretty video. We should be DEMANDING it, SHOUTING for it...every single day, until our Reps stand up and do what we elected them to do.
