If you've been disappointed with the Democratic Congress lately...and I think that you are, you've got to be happy to see this happening. As Rep. Waters says, "Dick Cheney is the poster child for everything that is wrong with this administration." Many people will jump on this announcement from both the right and the left. Liberals will say that this is a lost cause, that the votes and motivation aren't there to remove Cheney. Folks on the right will call it theater, and partisan politics. All factions should pause and ask themselves, what has Cheney done while in office, and does that truly sit well with you? Click on the video to your right to hear more from two Democrats who aren't afraid to confront the Administration head on.

Universal healthcare will come to the US--someday.
Let's try to make it sooner, not later.

Let's hope these articles of impeachment grow some teeth in the form of actual support from other members of congress (outside the current 8).

any person who doesn't have a high regard for Maxine Waters. I travel in small circles. She has been active in the congress for a very long time. I'm glad she and Kucinich have joined forces, I only wish there were other members with the courage to stand up for America. We need to stop making politicians swear on Bibles they will be faithful to the Constitution, if we're unable to punish them for their transgressions. Impeachment isn't a beheading it simply takes power away (and that may be only momentarily). Why is it so deeply engrained in these miscreants on the hill that power is something one gets to surrender, rather than can be taken?

...why the hell americans ask for candidates with vision, with new ideas, and with guts, and then REFUSE TO SUPPORT THEM??? dennis kucinich has more guts in his little finger than barack, hillary, and most of the other candidates and yet we are told he is "unelectable". is that because we are too afraid to stand up and vote for a man that might actually (really, truly) shake things up? might indeed turn this country around from its self-destructive course? at the very least, can't we give him (and maxine waters) their props for standing up for what they believe is best for the country? what a bunch of pussies the rest of our choices are. we might as well lie down and ask fred thompson to walk on us with his designer shoes.

WILL DEMOCRATS HAVE ENOUGH BACKBONE?

Well, its about time! We need to remove BOTH Cheney and Bush. We do not need to wait another 18 months. The Bush administration has been characterized by lies, deceit, hypocrisy, secrecy, corruption and incompetence since it's first day in office. Its time for them to go.

Three "R"s and three "B"s

bush reminds me of the three "R"s-not Reading, Riting and Rithmatic, but Repulsive, Repugnant, and Reprehensible. The Chump-in-Charge and the degenerates around him are guilty of treason, crimes against Humanity, war crimes, and war profiteering, and that's the short list. So, why the cold feet on the part of the Democrats? Didn't we elect them to get us out of Iraq and go after the crooks disgracing their offices and giving everybody in the world a pain in the ass? The "republicans" are that in name only as they've transformed themselves into the gang of Bamboozle, Bribery, and Blackmail. What power do they have over the Democrats, who, if they chose to initiate action to throw the crooks out of office, would have the immediate and enthusiastic backing of a very large majority of our people? What's the holdup?

Better take a look at the only man who will get you out of this mess. Socialized medicine won't be free. I've lived in Europe and you don't get something for nothing. We need to get government out of our lives.
The neo-fascists are planning their new american union and we will all be peons to the rich. Read what this honest man has to say before you vote party instead of common sense.

Who's Running This Show?

Is there no 'handler' nor producer overseeing this press conference? I mean, who's in charge of this thing? Clearly when the trash truck started to work next door or across the street SOMEBODY should have stepped up and said 'wait a minute, let's wait until they finish so we have their undivided attention'. Even Paris Hilton's lawyers would've seen to that! But no one did, and it's a MAJOR distraction to the viewers, the attending audience, the reporters, and even Dennis and Maxine themselves. The background noise will ensure that little if any will make the evening news as the footage is not clear. It strikes me as so typical of the Democratic party: little foresight and focus, and even less adaptability and authority.

Then something else dawns on me: it's a perfect metaphor! I mean, the irony of a trash truck working away in the background while they speak of removing this big, stinking hunk of garbage and waste from our administration - it's almost Kafka-esue!

Is anyone else with me on this?

My real prayer is that a least THESE TWO will have some follow through dispite the lack of backbone in this recently elected congress and see it through to whatever it's end is....
