The video to your right is about a new comic book being released by SMITH magazine called A.D. New Orleans: After the Deluge, which is a follow up tois the the web sensation Shooting War. The comic explores the lives of five regular people who endure Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. The comic, animated and written by Josh Neufeld, the writer/artist who also illustrates for American Splendor. Neufeld volunteered in New Orleans himself after the storm, so he brings his unique perspective to the various storylines. It's great to see the story of Hurricane Katrina still being told, albeit in an untraditional way, because we must not allow Americans to forget how the Bush Administration failed the Gulf Coast and our nation---and how many lives still remain shattered from this experience nearly two years later.

N word lover reflex syndrome

The "Katrina story" involves lots of BLACK people, but in America you can't be a N-word lover (Republicans couldn't respond quickly to Katrina in New Orleans because of mental delays caused by the N-Word Lover Reflex Syndrome...this is my theory, it's cooky but it's well thought out) and not feel embarrased if you are...let's say a Republican or not black. The story (i'm sure it's good) is a black story... or, lets say, a story involving lots of African Americans ,but, there is one black guy telling it. Even in the attempt to shed light on the katrina story (a good thing) they cannot bring themselves to get into it (FEMA to the rescue) because they will then have to draw and write (help them) about lots of black people (I do understand they have to sell books). This is an example how the whole Katrina/New Orleans mess can happend in America, it's a subtle thing. I'm not claiming racism and have not read the story...yet.

How bush & co. were warned in plenty of time to DO SOMETHING to prevent the disaster in New Orleans? Their (bush's) reaction was typical of the degenerates they are. bush stated "OK; you've covered your ass" as he rudely dismissed those who actually CARED about what was to happen. You see, our fearless leader was on vacation (one of many) and was annoyed at being disturbed. Only two conclusions can be drawn from this, and either should've been sufficient to topple this regime. They are: 1.The bushies simply didn't care about what was about to happen, or 2.They were so pathetically incompetent that even with a year's warning, they'd simply screw things up beyond recognition, just as they've done with everything else entrusted to their care.

Bush declared a disaster area before the storm actually hit

I bet you didn't know that. I bet you didn't know that Bush wanted to send in Federal forces but that Governor Blanco told him she needed 24 more hours. I bet you also didn't know that the head of the Red Cross said they were ready to go in hours after the storm but were told not yet by this same governor. Same with the head of the Salvation Army.

The real tragedy was with Mayor Ray Nagin not having an evacuation plan, leaving over 200 buses underwater and special Amtrack trains (free) leaving New Orleans virtually empty. I bet you didn't know that either.

President Bush stepped up and took the hit for Katrina's aftermath, but the real debacle was caused by gross incompetence from the Democrat mayor and governor.
I bet you didn't know that.
