In this edition of "Rachel Maddow's Campaign Asylum", Maddow breaks down why she thinks the White House will prematurely "retire" Dick Cheney from the White House, and then move Jeb Bush in to take his place. Later, Jeb will "reluctantly" accept a draft to campaign for the nomination. Stranger things have happened. Check out the video to your right for more.

Rachel, you rock! And that hat looks fabulous on you.

Seriously, this makes a LOT of sense. It sounds like exactly something Rover would come up with. (Rover - that was a typo, but it looks good so I'll keep it.)

Question: will we EVER know who Cheney has met with? Ever? Will we EVER fully understand just how deep his ties are with Saudi interests? Will we EVER truly comprehend the frightening level of corruption, the treacherous deceit this man has inflicted on America? Will history remember him as an asterisk or as the anti-American traitor he really is, selling out our precious democracy, the lives of our soldiers, our climate, and everything else we hold dear as a society?

Impeachment is not enough. Gitmo is not enough for him. He is a war criminal and a traitor. I think the Rosenbergs are saving a seat for him somewhere.

... because Jeb didn't make the Oval Office before George were a show?

Wish these guys would get out of Stephen Harper's head. If we wait long enough, he will have more time to spend with his family and friends while the rest of us can get on with the business of rebuilding our country.

so which do you think is more likely - 1. cheney is medically "retired" and jeb takes his place to continue the dynasty, or 2. an attempt (perhaps successful) is made on the life of W. and cheney assumes power, declaring martial law, cancelling the election in 2008...? either way, the prospect is terrifying.

Cheney is impeached and Bushit SELECTS his brother to replace Cheney as v.p. ? I could see old bag Barbara (not the substance abusing twin, the bigot grandmother) having public orgasms of power right now!

Sure wish Oswald was still around.

Although the theories do make sense, having read about how dictators assume power and have no intention of sharing it with anyone, let alone handing the torch to someone else while they are still alive, I still say that George W. has no intention of leaving the White House at all, and intends on being a "permanent" occupant. With the May 9th "edict" concerning "national disasters" look for Bush to declare one before July 2008, assume total control of everything, disband both Congress and any future elections, tear up the Constitution (literally!), and if anything happens to Cheney, Bush will appoint someone totally stupid and subservient to his whims, like Alberto Gonzalez or Paul Wolfowitz. Enter the USSA (United Socialist States of America)!

Cheney retires to count his multi millions...Jeb is selected to VP...every freedom we've ever known is stripped from us by Presidential decree...the completion of the sick need in GW Bush to take back his childhood toys and be the winner at something! And we the American People allowed this sociopathic maniac to rise to power. Prisoners of our own devices.

...equally likely. Short of taking to the streets and many of us dying there is nothing we can do about it. The Bushistas-republicans will do anything to hang on to their religious dictator. And the three fundamentalist religions will back them to the hilt.
This is not new to me as I have been putting forth both theories for some three years. I know my religion and it's fundie zealots and I know what they are capable of, since they supported Hitler and the Nazi party before, during and after WWII. They lost out then because the allied powers defeated the Nazis.
Now they have a second chance and they are not about to just give up and walk away. A theocratic dictatorship is what they want and 'we the people' are of little consequence. Any religion that has committed many billions of people(mexico, central and south america) to lifetimes of poverty and suffering will not just stop. Any religion which enobles pain and suffering is way beyond the reach of normal values.

Who is she to make fun of male cheerleaders?

I've trained male cheerleaders, and they are superb athletes. I don't know about the 70's at Harvard, but the male cheerleaders I worked with at Notre Dame could play 3rd string at many positions on the football field.

If you want to pick on cheerleaders, pick on the ones that make non-competitive teams and do not exercise but cardio. They then refuse to eat carbs and live on sugar-free Red Bull.

Worst President Ever Yet To Come

The possibility of an even worse scenario haunts me.
Svengala, the ConDoll, Worst President Ever.
Svengala has been very shrewd. She was National Security ADVISER and, at one time, was proud to assert that invading Iraq was her idea. We don't hear that anymore. Nor do we now hear her outrageous lies that compare with Cheney's.
Her retreat has worked for her and we rarely see anybody blame her for her devilish handiwork.
A very real danger, I believe.
Through impeachment, heart attack, whatever, Cheney goes, Bush appoints Svengala ConDoll as Vice-president, Negraponte, very familiar with Iran through his dirty Contra deals, becomes Secretary of State.
Something: impeachment, hunting with Cheney accident, certification as a lunatic, assassination... happens to Bush and the ConDoll is president.
In 2008, she runs as incumbent, the stupid, obsessed, insane and/or corrupt 34% who support Bush, vote for her plus, for no sensible reason, lots of blacks and lots of women.
Lieberman, Nader and other Independents split the anti-Svengala vote and she wins at a canter.
The Worst President Ever is yet to come.

Dictator Bush or not- no early withdrawal
Posted by: SJ on Jun 5, 2007 1:50 PM

The numbers of qualified to fill the necessary shoes are many available neocons or power hungry democrates.Who ever is next, you can bet it will be some one to bid the International Corporations and the billionairs needs. And that will have to be support of a continued Military expansion to dominate the world energy market. They (possibly the North American Union members),have signed on to the PGNAC and the Brezenenski doctrines and advocates to do their work in their Capitalist wavering world, the partners in crime in the big 8 support, to suck up and take what ever side spoils they will be able to. As they all sit poised in Lebanon for their next orders to come from behind the curtains of the UN. With Lebanon central and packed militarily Isreal is somewhat protected in order to strike Iran. They don't care who dose the deed and are probably pissed Iraq didn't go so smoothly, expect this surge blood bath to finish the securing deed quickly and soon, befor more public opposition grows. They probably rely on the democrates to swing the final blow of betrayal to the American people which at that point it will be to late if it is not already. The same assaults are happening to Canada and through out Europe. The people of the big 8 will be the ones to slide even further to poverty so Imperialism can control and profit from energy contol on China , India and Pakistan. What these three do along with Russia and Isreal are the pawns that could upset the cart depending on their moves. Some where in this a World war III may just very well break out. With Bush or with out him. Churchillls words fit in here, were going in and its ****there will be no early withdrawal. A World Without Pity. Not such a nobel cause this time. They could very well use Isreal to hit Iran, befor or after 08. Technically not needed befor gives George more forced war and he can declare his continued reign. Iraq oil, Iran oil, then onward to their African aquisitions. With Russia currently acting up they could very well play Japans part from WII. Other wise only a International movement and over throw of the few$ by the many. Its not really Bushes war its the elitists of the industrial nations war that George instigated for them.
