What if Al Gore had been rightfully installed in the White House in 2000. Progressives and, I would assume, the majority of Americans have fantasized about this scenario quite a bit for the last seven years and maybe now more than ever. The past can't be undone, so the best we have right now is this clip to your right from a recent episode of Family Guy where Peter Griffin and his dog are transported to an alternative universe where Al Gore has killed Osama bin Laden with his bare hands, adopted universal health care and eliminated all street crime. Oh, and flying cars that run on vegetable oil.

Digg!

Sorry, folks.. I hate to destroy your illusions.. but Gore is as much a politician as every other politician. All this great stuff he has been doing of late that goes against what would benefit a politician.... he has only done after getting out of politics... while he is NOT a politician. When he was a politician, he was as self-serving as all the others.

AL GORE SHOULD HAVE DEMANDED HIS RIGHTFUL POSITION IN THE WHITE HOUSE. A HANDFUL OF BLACK CONGRESSMEN WITH GUTS SAID HE SHOULD BUT GORE ACCEPTED THE LYING, CHEATING CROOKS OF BUSH SR's APPOINTEES WHICH LEFT THE DOOR WIDE OPEN FOR THE IMPOSTORS WHO WERE READY ALL DURING THE CLINTON YEARS TO RETAKE THE WHITE HOUSE. AND OSAMA BIN LADEN IS BUSH'S SCAPE GOAT! FIRST BUSH WANTED HIM DEAD OR ALIVE THEN LATER HE WASN'T INTERESTED IN FINDING HIM BECAUSE HE WASN'T INVOLVED WITH 911; BUSH WAS! AND THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO 911 OR IRAQ INVASION WITH AL GORE. THERE WOULD BE NO TORTURE, NO MURDER NO MAIMING AND OUR WORLD WOULD HAVE CONTINUED PROSPEROUS. HELLO MCFLY, ECOUTE !

"Rightfully installed"? Give me a break.

The system worked exactly how it was designed to work.

The popular vote does not elect the President. The electoral college does. Bush won the electoral college.

I'm a progressive liberal, and I have no love for the right-wing, the neocons, or the disasters that have come out of this White House. But for heaven's sakes, stop whining about an event six years ago which, for anyone who knows anything about the elections process, worked exactly as intended.

...that the Family Guy is just not making fun of Gore?

In any event, if Gore would have just taken the time to win his HOME STATE of Tenn., then we could talk.

Back then in 2000 he was FAR from a progressive liberal and always had his finger in the air ( or was it up someone's ass? ) trying to decide who he should be. Seldom mentioning the environment, etc.

And let's not forget that he and Clinton both had a hand in killing the electric car (see the flick "Who killed the Electric Car" sometime).

I am still looking for a horse in this race, but Gore, like Kerry, blew it by not being true progressives the first time, and do not deserve a second chance to do it again. To much is at stake...like a country.

I digress, but Kerry alone could have won if he would have told the Catholic church to go f*$K themselves when they said he could not receive communion.
