If you're Harry Reid and you say the obvious -- that the war is lost -- you get ripped to shreds by the GOP and the press.

Wonder whether Republicans and David Broder will pile on this Sergeant in combat for saying the obvious -- and more. That the war can't be won and that we're bogged down in a Vietnam-like situation.

Digg!

They have gone from nation building to wall building, the Berlin wall partitioning Baghdad and ghettoizing of a free people. What next for a traumatized nation.

...he's absolutely right.

It was a huge mistake to go in. HUGE.

And it will only be worse to pull out. Not because "the terrorists will follow us here," but because the civilized minority in Iraq will pay the ultimate price, the civil war will worsen, and the Saudi-backed Sunnis and Iranian-backed Shi'as might pull the entire region into a Sunni-Shi'a Islamic civil war--sort of like 1618-1648 in Europe, only with machine guns and IEDs.

It should be understood...

It should be thoroughly understood what the basis of this war says... that we are fighting them "there" in Iraq.. where they were not before we invaded... so we do not have to fight them "here" in the US. All questions of accuracy aside, the concept is more simply stated as this... we will take our war to an uninvolved nation knowing full well that tens of thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands of innocents will die in that nation because their lives are less important than those of Americans.

We've turned a whole generation of our young men into killers and targets all due to the lies and perfidy of Cheney and the Monkey King and the absolute couch-out of the US citizen. Dipshits all!

Until Bush and his entire Administration are perp-walked out of the White House or carried out by a mob to be strung up on the White house lawn (with about 90% of the GOP and Lieberman with them, based on the voter fraud crowed about in Rove's deleted "missing" e-mails), don't worry, Soldier, you'll be right where you are, in Bush's Viet Nam, protecting the fools amongst the Iraquis that didn't know anything more of history that Bush & Crew and you did. That when one country invades another through overwhelming violence, the majority of that country will rebel and fight back to the last man, woman, and child, and that those who collaborate with the enemy will be destroyed right along with the invader.

A simple fact of history that everyone involved in this debacle coveniently ignored because there were trillions of dollars to steal from American taxpayers in it.

Most of the Iraquis that were stupidly on "our" side were paid to be so, so for them it was also about US taxpayers' money, and now most of them with half a brain are hightailing it to Syria, where Bush and his Nazicons will just wipe them off the face of the map when he starts nuking Syria along with Iran.

So that's how Bush and the Nazicons see their collaborators and their surival; about as much a priority as the First German Nazis making sure their Jewish collborators were the last ones to be killed in the camps after they'd buried all their people, before the Allies arrived.

Bush and his Nazicons are fighting over keeping the endless "war" "against" "terror" gravy train rolling, not fighting to keep one single human person alive a moment longer.

Anyone that believes the US is for a single second remotely what it says it is, is truly the stupidest person on the planet.

The US is an Empire of Blood, with no wealth, no natural resources left, no soul, no manufacturing capacity beyond machines of death and destruction, creating and exporting endless wars of misery, death, and destruction everywhere else on the planet to prop up a worthless fiat currency, and enable war profiteering the likes of which the world has never seen before stashed away in offshore foreign tax-free bank accounts, and an entire failing economy based on mass murder or innocents. "Why We Fight" indeed.

The Bush Family Inc. and their parent conglomerate has ALWAYS made Hitler & Crew look like rank amateurs.

Since so many states have passed IMPEACHMENT RESOLUTIONS, re: Bush and Cheney, I wonder why the new Congress has not even looked into it. Could it be that the person in line for the presidency is a woman? I could be wrong, but I wonder. Would anyone care to comment on this.
