I want this to go on and on until they're both rocking back and forth in the fetal position.

By the way, who knew Geraldo had something reasonable to say? Refreshing.

OMGWTFBBQ!!! THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!!!

O'LIELLY IS FREAKING OUT ON TV!!!!!
OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!

Hey, pseudoLeftists, please quit pissing your pants. This is nothing to be concerned about. Nothing is going to happen. The REAL issues surrounding mass immigration were not even touched upon during that little discussion you are all so excited about. Where was the talk about how it affects wages? Hmm?

Look, you lot are just the mirror image of the rightwing forum animals--trained and propagandized beasts that hang on every world of these multimillionaire TV talking heads. You do not even know what real political issues ARE. So go back to your TV and your radio and your pseudoLeftist websites and keep socializing your other tribe members, animals.

a very bad influence on the USA (corruption, drunkeness, idleness, violence, organised crime) which is still being felt today. It is ironic that O'Reilly fits the stereotype of the violent, drunk Irishman better than most could of made of. We should have stopped the immigration back in the days and we wouldn't have the O'Reillys to worry about.

Sorry, "freaking out" is a figure of speech, so even though there's no such thing as a literal freaking-out in the physical world it's a figurative freaking-out. Loose use of that word "literally" is but one more example of the erosion of our language -- in a figurative way, of course.

The video was fun to watch, though.

Just because the executive branch says someone is illegal doesn't mean shit. Does O'Reilly and the rest of america know that? I bet Geraldo does because he is an attorney.

I'd never thought that I would find myself actually agreeing with Geraldo. Maybe the fringe dwellers are right about the 'coming' Apocalypse.

Though I would pay money to see someone on the left side of the spectrum stand up to O'Riley as strongly as Geraldo did, namely with a grasp of facts and passion.

Though I suspect that O'Riley only lets his 'friends' challenge him so blatantly.

Just one article that mentions this. However, anyone who has visited Mexico, has talked with people from Mexico, or lived near border towns know that Mexico, like the US, has a big problem with dui and the idea that it is ok to drink and drive. Mexico even has more of a problem because of the machismo culture, corrupt or lack-of police, unsafe vehicals, and bad road conditions. But once the Mexicans come to the USA (whether legal or not) they tend to drive drunk in a larger percentage than the native population in the same age range. It is quite a problem. The US has enough problems with drunk drivers from our own citizens--- why do we need to import more? Especially when they don't even have insurance to cover the damages they cause??

Perfectly demonstrates why I hate both those guys...pompous blow-hards who never let anyone finish a sentence because they're so busy trying to be "hard-hitting" (would have been great if they had come to physical blows...who do you think would win??)
-ahem- "journalists". (and yes, I kept a straight face when I typed that)

It also reminds me why I never watch FOX news for anything(tho I guess the entertainment value of that was pretty good with the sound turned off).

Existing for no other reason than to entertain, the O'megadrile's melt-downs are high camp. Why any Progressive actually attempts intelligent discourse with this creature beats me. The game plan ought to be this: just drive him over the edge. It's fun AND educational.

The only time I watch Fox is when something egregious is posted to YouTube! O'Reilly is usually a bully, but the foaming at the mouth, screaming routine is probably a portrait in true colors. Like Glen Beck and Mike Savage are finding out, the right-wing routine (even on the MSM) is wearing thin. Less of these spittle-flickers and more of the likes of Olberman and Huffington.

Disband the military, disband local police forces, and open the borders! Seriously, haven't we seen enough? The military wages wars on foreign nations for false reasons, police forces are shooting minorities and arresting for minor drug violations, and we're using our borders to keep people out who just want to enjoy our system without paying taxes. This is nonsense. It is the exact reason I moved to Montana. There's no government. I can sit back in my cabin and do whatever I want. It's pure freedom. I just wish I could experience this freedom when I go back to Los Angeles. No cops, no military, no borders. It's the perfect world. Then I will be able to smoke marijuana on my front porch in peace. The United States could become a world community, much like Berkley is now. Isn't that true freedom? To hell with the police, border patrol, and the military.

Geraldo was right and O'Reilly is a racist...

Current rating: Not yet rated    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
It is true, as Geraldo says, the illegal immigrants commit offenses of all kinds at a LOWER rate than those who are here legally. O'Reilly's hjysteria about the Virginia Beach incident misses the point. To use it as a talking point against illegals is absurd. A new and rational immigration reform policy needs to be enacted. We also need an amnesty. We DO have open borders for all intents and purposes and much of it is because of labor shortages in the US, partly due to our aging work force, as well as the medium and long-term employment effects of free trade policies like NAFTA on the economy of Mexico.

People killed by drunk drivers are more likely to be killed by US citizens hands down. I live in Chicago where there is a high rate of illegal employment in resturants, car washes, fast food, land scaping, and services. Most of them are law abiding people who don't harm anyone.

Am I troubled by the fact that they broke the law in coming here. Absolutely NOT!! The laws are not realistic and don't address the current situation. They need to be changed. It was the drunkeness of the individuals that killed the victims not the fact of their being here illegally. There are no real implications for either the issue of illegal immigration or drunk driving steming from this incident. It was just an unhappy coincidence. One has more to fear from all American white trash than from illegal workers from Mexico. I know because I used to live in Wisconsin!!

O'Reilly is a racist pure and simple. This is not the first time he ran off at the mouth about things he should not have run off at the mouth about. He is severely prejudiced. He is just an quintessentially offensive human being.

It is being reported that the director of "A Christmas Story" and his son were killed this week by a a drunk driver who was knowingly driving without a license. Guess what? He is an illegal immigrant and is being held on a $10,000 bail and immigration hold. We better hope that the California courts get him convicted before ICE or INS get him deported, or this killer will walk free in Mexico. Maybe Hollywood will get off its collective asses now and start talking about securing our borders and dealing realistically with this problem instead of protecting their maids and gardeners while paying low wages.

The general viewers of Fox are older Americans(oops!as myself yet I am no "FOXy Babe.") Give me Alternet despite being older. It has been in the wind ratings at Fox & Bill O. have been shakey as we the people are realizing Fox offers pablum (a cereal so old I am uncertain of it spelling.) If it is true about the ratings a blow-out by Fox w/O'Reilly will draw us in. I personally enjoyed the replays but not sit in waiting on Fox for the next. This brought out the young and older(like me) and loved it but how real was it ? The media (esp. Fox can manipulate & folks have grown weary. I had lost track of Geraldo. In the 1970's I felt his investigative reporting to be passionate & to the left.I want say ,Geraldo, thanks for those passionate reports. If you , an Alternet reader were 3 or so in the later 1970's you missed the best of Geraldo. Personally, I enjoyed seeing the passion lost fire out of Geraldo.Once the cameras were off and the viewers gone , THEN is when I would have loved to have been the fly on the wall..Sad,but true Billy O.is a part of this soul sickness of the Extreme Right. I love reading ALL your thoughts,Thanks! Mary Basombrio,

We need to STOP illegal immigration for one single very important highly moral reason
Posted by: xbj on Apr 7, 2007 5:59 AM
Current rating: Not yet rated    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
We need to STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION DEAD IN ITS TRACKS, because the ONLY REASON it exists in the first place is TO FEED ENDLESS CANNON FODDER TO the Neocons and Zionists' ENDLESS WAR against the rest of the planet.

THAT's why it needs to be stopped; those people aren't coming here to WORK, although they believe that; they are coming here TO ENLIST and BE KILLED and to CATHOLICALLY BREED MORE CANNON FODDER.

Doing the ULTIMATE job that most of America won't do, because of INTELLIGENCE and EXPERIENCE.

THAT'S why illegal immigration must be fought. Control the Tsunami wave of illegals, and end Bush's endless wars, because they damn well know they can NEVER RUN A WAR with a DRAFT EVER AGAIN.

And THAT should be the SOLE TRUTH of ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and should be the antiwar and lefts' stance on the issue.

Not the "bleeding hearts" liberal stance. Because if we really gave a damn about those people, WE'D KEEP THEM FROM COMING HERE and being VICTIMIZED by BushCheneyCo.

PERIOD. WE KNOW OUR GOVERNMENT IS EVIL; THEY do not, and look at it through money-colored glasses.

I watched the video, and mostly it just reminded me about why I can't watch any talking heads anymore -- right, left, or anyone in between. A bunch of talking and no substance.

Interestingly, it also reminded me of all the "screaming and "yelling" that goes on in these forums. It seems to be the modus operandi of the amerikan psyche these days. If one can't or won't understand the issue, yell louder. If one can't work from a general principle (the constitution, christianity, existensialism, marxism, etc.) allow the "argument" to deteriorate into a specific incident with absolutely no consideration of THE big picture or any picture at all.

We have become a nation of people with "learned incapacity." It's time to reintroduce the principles of debate.

Illegal Immigrants are good

Illegal immigrants come here to do all of the work that lazy Americans will not do and that is a good thing. The poverty level in my county is near 20% and that is because Americans are pretty much uneducated and lazy. I think it is good because the NAACP and every other organization that screams for better jobs for everyone is handing over jobs left and right to people who deserve them - not the poor blacks but hard working latinos.
