Best Bolton line in the Stewart vid:

Like, for instance, Pentagon planners with a lifetime of experience telling the Administration that 400,000 US Soldiers would be required to invade Iraq. Problem? Hell no! The President's men create a new office inside the Pentagon to recommend the use of only 150,000 troops.

Or, as the ultimate defence against entrenched bureaucracies, hire 700 lawyers to work on the President's Signing Statements. Which makes any policy lawful as long as the President says so. And those bureaucrats better follow, or we'll lead them off a cliff. Wait...

I have no doubt that Bolton is as stupid as Bush any more. That such jackasses can get close to the centres of power is a constant source of amazement.

His stupidity precludes him from knowing that his bullying and lying don't go unnoticed or despised.

We need fundamental change and we need it yesterday.

George W.'s always angry ex-U.N. ambassador is a perfect PNAC example of the spineless and hypocritical nature of neocons.

The Yale Daily News said that although Bolton supported the Vietnam War, he declined to serve in combat, enlisting instead in the National Guard and attending law school in 1970.

Wrote Bolton in his 25th Ivy League reunion book, “I had no desire to die in a Southeast Asian rice paddy. I considered the war in Vietnam already lost.”

In 2006, Mr. War Critic sang a much different tune. Hiding behind the Stars & Stripes in his Upside Down Neocon Bushworld, he called Democrats who make similar statements about Iraq “cut-and-runners,” verifying the old adage: "It takes a coward to know one."

But that's not the only stain on his self-serving patriotic facade. In the 1980’s, Bolton participated in GOP efforts to defeat voter registration campaigns by unions and black organizations.

Two decades later, in July 2002, the Wall Street Journal reported Bolton’s “most memorable moment in life” came after the Supreme Court ordered a halt to the 2000 Florida recount.

Clearly elated, he strode into a Tallahassee library where the tally was still going on and boasted, “I’m with the Bush-Cheney team, and I’m here to stop the vote.” So much for democracy.

...between Jon Stewart and someone like Bill O'Reilly is that he treats his interview subjects as guests. I don't think I've ever seen him get confrontational or insulting.

This exchange is exactly how American politics should be - civil.

While the Right is inflammatory in their rhetoric, we on the Left need to hold our ground as the adherents to dialogue and rationality.

Lies, lies, lies! Bolton's very first retort to the Iraqi woman's comments is a lie. Lies from this administration have rained down on us like nuclear fallout and yet we continue to suck in the fouled air and do nothing to clear the air. Will we wait to act until it is too late? Or do we know in our hearts we have already waited too long? Or do we even care?

The first one blew me away, but the interview with Jon Stewart was every bit as impressive. We should all be thankful in the US we have voices like his, Olbermann's and Colbert's to keep us grounded in reality. Bolton has been on my Shit List since he became embassador but since then has earned a spot, along with Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rove, Etc, on my List of People Who Need to Die, and Soon. (Sorry to be so blunt, it's probably not PC. Tough titty, kitties.)

I am not planning to assassinate anyone. (But I have to ask--if I pray for it, can I get in trouble for conspiring with God? What if God rats me out and tells W I am praying for him to die, will they toture me? What if I am praying but am a closet athiest, will I get outed as a double agent? These questions plague me daily.)

If I end up getting arrested for saying what most of you think I fully expect you to contribute to my defense, that is if they don't put me in a secret prison and you can't find me, in which case I would be grateful if you would see to it my kids get their college educations.
