FOX Attacks Black America [VIDEO]

The Congressional Black Caucus has dropped FOX from their Jan. '08 presidential debate in S.C., but it doesn't mean that they've decided to reject FOX entirely ... yet.

ColorOfChange.org has launched a campaign to urge the Congressional Black Caucus to reject a partnership with FOX News that would only legitimize the network which: "has a horrible record of attacking Black people, leaders, and cultural institutions." COC calls the partnership "shameful."

Watch the video for a sampling. It's absolutely repulsive.

From the campaign letter: "We've spoken several times with the Institute's executive director, and she says that she and the board welcome public comment. So we wanted to invite you to do exactly that. The Institute hasn't made a final decision, but they'll make an announcement in the next few days."

Update: CNN has announced that they (and ostensibly NOT Fox News) will partner with the Congressional Black Caucus for the Jan. '08 presidential debate in South Carolina. Expect the rhetoric to be ratcheted up from the ABSOLUTELY NOT RIGHT WING FOX network. Will they top the "stalinists" comment? Don't bother watching to find out...

This does not mean, however, that the CBC has decided to reject FOX entirely, just for this single debate... Sorry for the false alarm...

the thing i find most amazing is that those rednecks at CNN have somehow managed to become the voice of reason in the age of FOX facism. When will America come of age and play the role in historical democracy, rather than the naive and constantly duped democracy that stands before you now?

Lose the menacing music. It makes you sound as cheap as Fox.

Local News broadcasts are EVEN WORSE, usually, than Fox News.

If you look at Local News broadcasts in many areas of the country you'll see even more racism. Every crime, many times, is accompanied by a phrase like "black male", or, in some areas "Puerto Rican suspect". Example: the police are looking for a suspect in this early morning shooting. They describe him as a black male with a slight build. Every crime is sensationalised and race is almost ALWAYS featured prominently- even when the suspect has already been caught so there is no 'all points bulletin' which, obviously, race/build/height/tattoos/etc would be necessary for identification. Interestingly, however, its rare that 'hispanic' race, or the residency status, is mentioned in the suspected crimes involving hispanics or illegals. It could be that the news programmers assume from the surname that the audience will 'know' the race/status of the offender. Note that 'white' is almost never mentioned except when its a 'white male' who usually is mentioned along with child molester or serial killer. Remember the goal of the media is to frighten the population, divide the population, and titillate the population. This generates ratings and serves the goals of the corporations so they can exploit us all.

FOX news is a propaganda channel for wealthy culture, of course it's f***ing racist....while classism maybe it's biggest sin, racism is clearly on the agenda of golf playing corporate america. F*** FOX NEWS!

I've checked out the video, and can't see what's so terrible about it, unless you believe that the opinions expressed therein ought to be barred from public discourse.

Consider the discussion of Barack Obama. You could have read the same sort of commentary about him in the Washington Post or the New York Times, with people questioning his "blackness." Does this sort of thing magically become racist when it happens on Fox News?

There's the complaint that black guests say some of the harshest things about black America. This is a bad thing? Seems like proof that not all blacks see the world the same way. For people who believe in cultural diversity, this ought to be a good thing. Or do you think that black people should never publicly criticize other black people? So much for Bill Cosby's speaking tour, or Juan Williams' book denouncing the backward civil rights establishment.

One could go on and on about the deep silliness of this video. But the most telling thing, to me, is the rapid-fire quick-cut style of the piece. Anyone with experience watching TV knows that this technique, which strips each video moment of its surrounding context, is a sure-fire sign that you're being sold a bill of goods.

I do not think that is an attack on Black Americans.

The Black Caucus is a bona fide racist organization: they purposefully exclude people due to their race. I think they deserve legitimate criticism.

"Mainstream" African-American organizations have purposefully sequestered themselves from the rest of society. They want to be separate. When is the last time the NAACP has gone out and helped an Asian or Native American. They don't because they do not care, especially when it comes to whites.

Finally, I do not think it is fair for an open and honest dialog to take snippets from an assortment of news broadcasts and to come up with some preposterous notion that FOX news is out to oppress anyone. One could do the same thing with CNN, CBS etc.

This article is shotty and does nothing to help Americans work together. If anything it shows how far people are willing to stoop to cause racial strife and it highlights that multiculturalism has absolutely failed and it is only going to get worse.

If white or black "with a medium build" committed the crime then why not put it in the paper? Most articles I read do not mention race. Other than that sometimes there are very detailed description of the alleged criminal which is good because in some instances, i.e. with Amber alerts, it can help save people.

The thing to bear in mind when discussing organizations set up to accomodate blacks only, is that they were created in response to already existent institutional racism. They represent a people attempting to offset a societal injury in the best and perhaps the only way available to them.

The experiment of "multiculturalism" is a total and abject failure and the reason for it is the treatment of blacks/browns as inferior. It will NOT get any better, it will only get worse and with predictable outcomes.

The white elitist community can take pleasure in the knowledge that they had the most to do with this failure.

Elitists should keep one thing in mind, above all else, and that is, history teaches that all elites tend to get fat, lazy and weak, while the poor grow ever leaner, hungrier, and more numerous. Do the math Hannity! Your gated communities have never stopped the maddened throngs and never will.

The Dems are afraid that their talking points just won't hold up on FOX. I know of no Right-Winger that would be afraid to appear on CNN (communist news network) or even that loser of a radio network, Airless America 2.0

If you want to reach the largest viewership on cable, it's FOX NEWS. They report, you decide.

All of the networks are like this. They are not all the same. ABCNNBCBS are more subtle, for sure. But this campaign of pinning this racism on Fox News is just more ridiculous white liberal delusion. This is America. Fox News is just a part of America. And Fox News hasn't been the most watched news program for nothing. So let's not pretend like Fox is some aberration and that pressuring them to tone it down to CNN-level racism will mean much.

I'll be candid. The problem here is that there are not enough authentic black voices ever heard. Not on Fox, not on CNN, not in this discussion thread, nowhere. That is the single biggest reason conversations on race end up being so worthless.

It's always white people talking to other white people. With a few blacks here and there. Imagine a huge discussion about gender and sexism with 95% men. Who would take it seriously?

Well, that's always the case with racism in America. Everybody knows it but whites are usually polite enough to other whites not to mention the elephant in the room.

Fox News consciously chose the blacks that are basically against other blacks so they can make the racism seem non-direct, or so they can make it look like “its just not them against blacks, it blacks against blacks”, and when they do find a black person that supports the black community, they boorishly interrupt them, and kick them of air. The reason Fox gets blacks to say these thing is because if the white men that run the show says it, then they will be labeled as raciest. They certainly don’t want that!

This is the trick of the media. I believe Fox News purpose is to put these “anti-black’ black people on air so they can separate blacks. Fox News and everyone else know if black people stick together they can be a very, very strong minority group. It is the Medias job to separate that strength. Hats off Fox News, your doing a great job.

Everyone need to realize that T.V. alone is for entertainment, no matter what the station is showing, the prime objective is to get ratings. Fox News’s rating is probably flying through the roof right now because of the video (Fox Attack on Black America).

To sum things up, Fox News reporters and columnists are doing their jobs, don’t let theses “nobodies” get you mad because of their jealousy of the black community.
