This first video details the hysterical-yet-sad story of John Negroponte, back when he was Bush's Director of National Intelligence, attempting to avoid the wrath of the White House by mentioning the words "Global" and "Warming" back to back.

Apparently, it was something of a game to get him to say them in the same sentence...

***

The second is an excerpt from a Democratic-run hearing on political influence on government climate change scientist. Committee Chairman Henry Waxman, a Democrat, asks Dr. Drew Shindell (no slouch he) what he thinks of several edits by Bush's Office of Management and Budget and by the Council on Environmental Quality, run by a lawyer who used to work for the American Petroleum Institute.

Guess what he says...

Who needs science and expertise when God whispers in the POTUS ear. God doesn't worry about stuff he created, besides she has bigger fish to fry than making sure humans don't screw up the own planet.

corporate friends who have done so much damage to her. Our mother, Gaia, is upset that people are hurting her and she is exacting revenge on us. Unfortunately, for us, Gaia's ways are not understandable to us and the revenge she seeks will effect ALL of us--not just the corporate polluters. This is why we need to wake up and pray to Gaia for forgiveness and change our wicked ways. Otherwise Gaia will unlease her wrath upon humanity in the form of warming, ice storms, floods, drought, tidal waves, earthquakes, volcanoes, blizzards, hurricanes, and tornadoes.

Quit playing footsie with this administration

It is time to quit playing nice with this administration. Every minute we waste brings us closer to the brink. Impeach, indite, and punish these people. The most important thing is to get them out of here! NOW. No waiting. Why are we waiting for a process that they have control of to stop this madness???

And while I am at it, no one that I know of has said anything about reducing the worlds population... they only talk about reducing green house gases etc. It is time to look seriously at exercising restraint... condoms, the pill, limiting family sizes. (don't go there. If large families are endangering the earth then get over the idea that you have the right to take resoures from everone else by having 6,7,8 children.) and firing the pope.
However I see by the past that the lowest common denominator always wins. Good luck to us all.

In the second Video, whomever that "Climate" expert is, he's wrong.

On the second question...

He states, unequivocally, that mankind plays the dominant role in Global Warming. That is theory, not fact. The "Oil Company" edit, states that noone can say, unequivocally, that mankind is the dominant cause is correct. He even concedes that this is technically true. He then goes on to say that the "false" statement is more accurate. Yes, mankind IS the dominant cause. No doubt about it. It's double-plus good.

APPOINTEES INDEED!

Think about this. How many people did Bush appoint when he came to office? He appointed everyone we are having policy issues with Rove, Ramsfeld, Rice, Cheney. Appointees are powerful. We need to know who Abama, Clinton, etc would bring in as Defense, Attorney General, Education, Agriculture, EPA, FDA, CIA, FBI, FCC. At least a short list. The appointed positions are proving to be an important and powerful part of the executive branch.

Appointees are not elected so they are not held to the same standards as the elected officials are. And appointees are only beholding to the one that appointed them. We can't fire them.

We are not electing a President per se, but rather a Board of Trustees. It is a package deal. It could make a difference in the election if we know ahead of time who the newly elected president would appoint as secretary of defense or attorney general. Appointees speak volumes about what a persons intent is. Was there every any doubt where Rumsfeld's heart lied?

I doubt that our main stream media would do this. So it will be up to Alternet and the like to ask these questions.

Hopefully G.W. Bush won't leave the country on Jan. 21, 2009 so he can be indicted for all the crimes he has committed since Jan. 20, 2001.
