Who does a guy have to sidle up to for the Christian Right to give its stamp of approval?

My Lord, McCain ate s**t by the bucketloads when he spit-shined Jerry Falwell's boots a few months ago, but if you give the audio clip to the right a quick listen you'll hear James Dobson, head of Focus on the Family, say: I would not vote for John McCain under any circumstances.

Ooof.

This could be a fatal blow for McCain as Dobson is considered by many to be the nation's most powerful evangelical. While the political weight and unity of evangelicals may be overstated, it's difficult to conceive of a Republican going anywhere without significant evangelical support.

Two guesses why Dobson's disgusted...

You got it: the gays. McCain attempted to ride the fence by claiming first that he thinks gay people ought to be able to get married only to revise it after the commercial break (and some frantic finger across the throat motions from his handlers, no doubt). Watch the double take in the first video to see why he got what anyone who attempts to ride a fence gets...

Here's the irony, though. I found this clip from a gleeful post on the "Evangelicals for Mitt [Romney]" site. Only, Mitt's got some skeletons in his Religious Right-pandering closet. For his sake I hope skeletons are the only thing in that particular room... Watch the second clip from a 1994 debate with Ted Kennedy that could make it hard for Romney in '08 -- or at least for the Evangelicals for Romney folks...

Digg!

...as auto union workers and militant greenies, (somewhat) united under the democrat banner.

The older I get, the more odd our two party system seems.

This article highlights one side of those oddities.

Dobson and I agree on at least that much. I wouldn't vote for McCain under any circumstances now either.

...The state can't ban private 'rites of union' by gay people, so being for that but agnst 'gay marrage' is meaningless.

WAKE UP DRONES

Look,
I don't know when working stiffs lost the last vestiges of reason but, PLEASE look back a bit into your history. Up until about 100 years ago, the wealthy and powerful working in unison with Republican "leaders" were literally forking us to death. We were worked 7 days a week, ( would have been 8 but so far that's impossible). They were making us work in very dangerous, often FATAL conditions. They paid us in Company "scrip" redeemable only at company stores at company prices. There was no time and one half. You did as you were ordered, WHEN you were ordered or you were fired at best, beaten on at worst. Collective Bargaining? Yup, They would collect your bargaining asses and have "our boys" beat you unconscious, shoot you, burn you and/or your wives and kids alive, ( Ludlow Massacre). Republicans are nothing more than corporate whores. Simple as that.
We finally had laws in place to PROTECT us from the corporations and all went well. Then a Republican by the name of Reagan began dismantling those laws. He began tearing down the unions whose members in the past had died forcing a government who, for the most part gave a shit about you, your family, your kids' education.
They did it by telling you over and over and over how they HATE big government. Well, they don't HATE big government, they hate not being able to MAKE A BUCK off of us. So they "privatize" more and more things that should NOT be privatized under the guise of keeping costs down. In reality, the only thing they drive down are YOUR WAGES then, they begin getting sweet little deals called"exemptions" to state and federal regulations put in place to protect your asses all in the name of expanding the bottom line.
Prisons, are a shining example. I worked for a private prison corporration in FLA. The guards were paid fully 35% LESS than state run prisons, they had us doing inmates LAUNDRY while on our posts, they had ONE OFFICER for 16 inmates rather than the regulated 2. The thermostats all read a perfect 74 degrees and we, ( along with the inmates) MELTED from about 5pm, ( when corporate went home ), until about 7am when they all punched in. There was NO detergent used in the non-commercial washers we used, just hot water. The young guard knifed to death in Wyoming? I believe he was 23 and died for about $9.00 an hour. Wake the hell up and do some research! Use the internet while it's still non-partisan before doughy pigs like McCain privatize it too.
You ever hear of the USS Liberty?
Well mcCain's papa was instrumental in keeping the facts of Israel's attack and murder of it's sailors from us for almost 50 years . That is until the FREE internet gave the survivors and their families a non corporate forum to educate your asses. Bottom line? If it copulates with corporations, it is NOT looking out for we common folks' basic interests, period.
A nation of sheep, led by a cartel of whores, controlled by big business. Welcome,.. to the REAL Evil Empire.

Lieberman and McCain at Bush's feet, pushing the other out of the way

Sickening... groveling... suicidal.

The only difference is McCain is doing it because he doesn't want to be on the receiving end of the Bush stroke weapon, no matter how many people have survived it, and Lieberman does it because he really is in love with Bush his god.

For God's sake McCain, just resign. You will never regain your lost stature. Ever.

LET'S FIND OUT- WHAT DO THE ISRAELIES HAVE ON MCCAIN?

Watching McCain on Meet The Press as I type...

The man is being blackmailed. No other explanation for his complete 180ยบ turn, AND his hatred of free speech on the internet. Obviously he's afraid someone is going to find out something and post it.

So let's sic all enterprising internet journalists and bloggers on him, find out what Israel has on him that is SO devastating, SO devastating that even Rove wouldn't and didn't use it on him when Bush went against him (earning McCain's obvious gratitude), and negate the power his blackmailers have over him.

He won't like it, but it will set him free. He doesn't have a chance in this living hell of becoming President anyway.

GO GET HIM. It's for his own good.
