Last week Bush told the media that he was keeping Rumsfeld. Today he implied in a press conference (video, right) that he'd lied to the media for political purposes.

And just for fun, watch the video to the end so you can see 'the decider' morph into 'the assessor'...

Digg!

The only thing Bushit can competently assess....

....is his own incompetence, but he always comes up with the wrong answer. Did you notice his slip where he said "had my FINAL conversation with Rummy?" I wonder what that meant.

I loved it all, but at the end when he talks about "assessing all the time, by myself." I didn't know he was capable. You go, George.

Lies, Lies, Lies, and caught on camera doing it.....whoo Whoo, I sure rember how much they played that clip of Clinton's. Well the Winds of change are blowing strong, and America just took a giant step backwards from fascism. Then to top it off there's Rumsfield " Cutting and Running ", boy is that the icing on the cake? Don't be blinded by Rumsfield falling on his sword, it's probably by request from KKKarl.
They eat their own you know. So all those Republican Party members on the fringe, watch your backs, the big guys will do anything to hold power, and Lie all they can.
I drew a Democratic Victory cartoon last night, it's up on my website now;

....from a terminally-disgusted reporter who would ask:
"Mr. President--given that you admitted lying to three reporters about Rumsfeld so as to not affect the election the following week, why should we believe or have any faith in anything you choose to tell us?"

Only Helen Thomas has the integrity to ask questions such as this, and not be overly concerned about the consequences of asking. Helen Thomas--undresser of kings (and hero).

Bush lied about Rummy, but it wasn't before the election. His attempt to lie about the lie is just more crap. He did everything possible to affect the outcome of this election. Announcing Rumsfeld's resignation would have garnered more votes for his party. Bush was just too cocky, giving his "dancing in the endzone" and "picking out the drapes" speech, to actually make a move that might have saved his majority.

He has lost his stranglehold and must now grovel to those he detests. His legacy will not be as he envisioned. He sacrificed Rumsfeld to save face and to act as if he is willing to "play nice." The Democrats have usually been able to see through his crap, and now they actually have the power to do something about it.
