In recent press conferences Bush has been stumbling and bumbling. Today was yet another example of his lies and reality catching up with him. He, as always, tried to tie the war in Iraq to 9/11, but this time a White House reporter interjected with a question:

Ken Herman, Cox News: "What did Iraq have to do with the attack on the World Trade Center?"
Bush: "Nothing."
Bush then quickly tries to recover by saying that Iraq is part of the War on Terror, but in his response he undermines himself further:
"I have suggested however, that resentment and the lack of hope create the breeding grounds for terrorists who are willing to use suiciders to kill... I have made that case."
Ok, so you're finally smart enough to "make the case" that resentment breeds terrorists. Hello, is the occupation of Iraq not creating a breeding ground for resentment and hence, terrorists.

Let's do the math.

Chicago Tribune reports:
"An average of more than 110 Iraqis were killed each day in July... The total number of civilian deaths that month, 3,438, is… nearly double the toll of January."
UPI reports:
"The rate at which U.S. soldiers are being killed per day in Iraq has now been steadily rising for almost eight weeks."
If only Bush could understand what he says!

Digg!
