In recent press conferences Bush has been stumbling and bumbling. Today was yet another example of his lies and reality catching up with him. He, as always, tried to tie the war in Iraq to 9/11, but this time a White House reporter interjected with a question:

Ken Herman, Cox News: "What did Iraq have to do with the attack on the World Trade Center?"

Bush: "Nothing."

Bush then quickly tries to recover by saying that Iraq is part of the War on Terror, but in his response he undermines himself further:

"I have suggested however, that resentment and the lack of hope create the breeding grounds for terrorists who are willing to use suiciders to kill... I have made that case."

Ok, so you're finally smart enough to "make the case" that resentment breeds terrorists. Hello, is the occupation of Iraq not creating a breeding ground for resentment and hence, terrorists.

Let's do the math.

Chicago Tribune reports:

"An average of more than 110 Iraqis were killed each day in July... The total number of civilian deaths that month, 3,438, is… nearly double the toll of January."

UPI reports:

"The rate at which U.S. soldiers are being killed per day in Iraq has now been steadily rising for almost eight weeks."

If only Bush could understand what he says!

So Bush said that leaving Iraq would be a disaster.

But staying in Iraq would be a disaster as well, obviously.

Now if only he would actually admit to what so many of us have known for so long... that the whole damned thing has been a disaster!

So resentment breeds terrorism according to Bush? If you were to take a poll in Iraq right now it is safe to say that the average Iraqi feels more resentment now than before the American invasion. Iraq was not a breeding groud for terrorism before the American invasion, Saddam was hated by extremists and they avoided Iraq, but now there are plenty of terrorists with lots of American targets in Iraq. Bush says that Saddam was causing trouble? What trouble was he causing? It turns out he did not have weapons of mass destruction, he was all bark, and we fell for it. Was Saddam a bad guy? Yes. But did deposing him in the manner that we did get us closer to creating a Middle East that no longer resents us? No way.

Bush criticizes those who subscribe to the hornets nest theory, and I agree with him, that theory is flawed in this case. The reality is that the starfish theory is more accurate in this case. Fisherman used to get sick of starfish showing up in their nets, so they cut them in half thinking that this would kill them. Little did they know that each time the did that two new starfish grew. Their supposed solution actually made the problem worse, this is what the war on terror is doing. We have created two failed states in Iraq and Afghanistan. There have been between 30k and 40k Iraqi civilian casualities in our opertations there, each one of those casualties creates resentment and helps terrorist groups recruit more easily. I believe 100% that we should have a war on terror, but this war cannot be fought with the methods the neocons think will work. Anyone who lives in the Middle East knows that invading Iraq, allowing Israel free reign to bomb Lebanon and leaving Afghanistan a mess, have all made life easier for terrorists, not harder. It's time for us to accept that our current methods are not working and adjust our course. And the best way to adjust our course is to get new leadership.

Bush states....."that resentment and the lack of hope create the breeding grounds for terrorists who are willing to use suiciders to kill..." the dude has also stated that terrorists just don't like freedom and the american way of life....well heres the deal and my speal....i don't like it either. if the american dream is to live life lavishly on god damn credit, drive a gas guzzling vehicle, own a fresking plasma television, watch football on sundays, dream of living in Laguna Beach, and getting a F##@ing pair of white vaneers on Extreme F##@ing makeover then count be the hell out. I guess I am a terrorist/insurgent and dislike the fasade of "Freedom". You are not free, you are a slave to your unrealistic ways of life.....and your countries hard on for corporate involvement in government....which by the way fuels what i believe is the biggest problem in todays society...."the uneven disbursement of wealth and resources" it takes 70 litres of water to manufacture one can of pop, which will just make you unhealthy, yet people die of dehydration.....think about that....I try not to...I am going to stop venting, but its a Bull to the S##t these days, and I am just glad that there is becomming a collective conscience in regards to what is really happening, and how damn fake everything is these day. My name is Uriel, and the only way to become free is to live a more simple existence, and say F it all. I'm out

Just after the Decider decided to have a news conference and lied his little head off Faux news had the results of a CNN poll. Bush's approval rating was up to 43%. That was the good news. I was working and could not write down the results but approval for the Iraq war and everything else had tanked!! Seems out of kilter for his job approval to be up but all the rest bottomed out.

Bush's noose conference

I think Bushit's performance in this noose conference reminds me of the chief of police in "Beverly Hills Cop." Remember, he was the one that kept proclaiming that he'd solved the "alphabet murders," which, of course, was BS. Bushit, is, of course, full of BS, just like the rest of the neon-conservatives. "Neon-conservatives"? Yeah, they draw dimwitted moths to their "light" but those of us with brains know that they're just full of bad gas!
Peace!

Bush has told so many lies that it is impossible for him to interact reasonably with truth. So he just mumbo jumbo's his way along hoping that he will still have a rubber stamp Congress left after November. That will be impossible without expanding the dirty electoral tricks and cranking up the propaganda. Expect even weirder things to happen as election time approaches.

I watched part of his speech and had to leave the room. I have no idea what planet he is on or what reality he sees. In this statement hower, as far as I'm concerned, he admitted yet once again that he lied to take us into this war. "Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11."

Another statement he made regarding this issue is that "we must stay into Iraq until we have completed our mission." I recall our president, a military cop-out dressed in military garb, landing on the deck of an aircraft carrier, behind him a sign reading "mission accomplished". This was about 2,500 soldiers and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis ago. Going back even further, it seems our mission was to take out Osama Bin Laden -- so why take out Hussein, a tyrant in his own country, but not an immediate threat to ours.

Records show Iraq had no sectarian violence before we arrived. Bush talks about protecting the people, yet as far as they're concerned, and we can understand why, they feel the need to be protected from us, as well.

Democracy was always spread by actions. People need only have looked at this country to understand how great democracy was. By waging a war which even his own father admitted in 2002 was unwinnable and would plunge the entire Middle East into sectarian violence for decades to come, Bush has polluted democracy. He waged war to spread democracy, yet what he has done was to create yet another terrorist organization. it's called the "American Government."

How much more do we have to watch or listen to before we take action to IMPEACH? God knows we have enough evidence, and Bush has, here and many times before, admitted acts which are considered treasonous by our Constitutional laws. When will we see him on tape making his final statement before he is led out of the political arena forever and, with any luck, into a jail cell with a big guy named Bubba!

GW Bush thinks that despair causes suicide bombings and that before 9/11/01 there was no reason for Arabs to attack us.
That is the man who thinks people who oppose FISA don't have a grip on reality.

I am Australian, and I am enjoying watching this unstable moron break down, and indeed America break down.

Its about time - we so sick and tired of your cuntry bully its way around the world.

Just like Vietnam brought down 2 Presidents, Iraq will bring down the 2 criminals Bush & Cheney.

If we are lucky, the Tecumseh curse will get Bush.

Personally I would like to see him blow his tiny brain out on CNN. Now that would be good TV!!

"no one in this administration has ever said Suddam is linked to 9-11..." gw

I remember Ari Flescher or maybe Cheney during a press conference clearly linking 911 to Iraq. It was part of the initial reason for going, at the time prior to wmd (also a lie).

Can one of you press-types find archived video of this? Then we'd have 2 videos, the content of which would clearly show the admin are a bunch of lying facists!

And whoever commented on gw using drugs, you are right...look at his eyes...he is either stoned or drunk...poor little gw...NEVER let anyone within the Bush family run anything again...destroy the family! They're evil.

The world criminals BUSHCO will not be stopped from fulfilling their plan of bombing IRAN ,SYRIA and anywhere else that is on their hit list . BUSHCO do exactly what ever they want , finding it very easy to force feed these crimes to the super ignorant/niave general american public with the extremely cooperative media .
And americans think the world hates them now ? Just wait to see all the extremely well deserved pay back that is coming to america for supporting the new KING HITLER killing the world as fast as he dare , for profit . If you do nothing to stop BUSHCO I hope you are making alot of money off of the BUSHCO policies .
You'll need the money to hide from the world's retribution.
