Sure, the video to the right is sensational, depicting as it does, a supporter or staffer for Al Wynn having bloodied the head of a Donna Edwards supporter, but that's not the real story.

Wynn, according to Matt Stoller, is a "net neutrality bad guy and all around machine hack," whose unknown progressive opponent Donna Edwards, is gaining traction in the Democratic primary.

The brawl above, which took place before a debate, was the only punch the Wynn campaign was able to get in. Stoller writes:

Edwards just crushed Wynn on his votes for the war, the energy bill, the bankruptcy bill, etc. Wynn is clearly a terrible Congressman, one of the biggest villains on net neutrality. What the debate proved is that he's also a terrible politician who has maintained his seat in Congress through a mixture of fear, machine politics, and voter apathy. The fact that Edwards, a first-time candidate who has had significant trouble with her campaign, is rattling Wynn, is a big deal.
