So we went out to Griffith Park out here in L.A. to check out the kick-off day for the new "Tea Party Express II" national tour. Thought we might meet some interesting people and file a quick video report. Met a lot of interesting people, and so ended up making a short film of sorts. Enjoy. Spread the word. Go tell the story ("both sides")...

Digg!

I'm sure your mother told you not to make fun of your elders and the mentally afflicted, even if they are Republicans.

That being said, nice piece.

Why would you show up to protest something you don't know what it is?

Well Brad, maybe it was fun for you but you can't count that as reporting

This wasn't news reporting, it was an editorial.

A good reporter asks questions to find out what the people actually think, they do not debate them. They do research ahead of time so they are prepared with good questions and they are also careful to get names and hold the mike to actually record the answers.

Your style is to badger and argue, hog the mike. That is not the same as gathering information, figuring out what is really going on and presenting it in a coherent story that is both as true as you can make it and educational.

I found the style uninformative and annoying and turned it off rather quickly. Old people are not amused by egotistical young people making fun of other old people no matter how foolish they sound. It is just not funny.

As far as being useful reporting, I'll call that 'not very'. Better luck next time.

they'd better put the pedal to the floor. it's going to be snowing hard pretty soon on that northern stretch.
Then again, maybe they'll get stranded and have to resort to cannibalism. Kinda like the Republicans as a whole. :D

tea-bagging is a p0rn term

When I first heard the term "tea-baggers" used in mainstream media, I thought it was funny. Apparently the tea-baggers and most journalists have no idea that the term tea-bagging was coined long ago to describe a certain sexual act. There really is no clean way of describing what a tea-bagger is so I'll just spell it out as best as I can: a tea-bagger is a male who dips his testicles into the face of someone who is laying down. I don't thinks it's funny anymore to read or hear how so many clueless people use the term tea-baggers. Maybe by saying something here I can give a clue.

These tea baggers have a somewhat twisted views brought to them by the makers of FOX News. I like the fact that they can not come up with an original thought or idea; and when they do it is all wrong.

Last time I looked the President hasn't LOWERED taxes on anyone. I think what he said in his campaign was he would not RAISE taxes on anyone making less than 250K/year.
So the roving SNL reporter doesn't seem to have his facts correct either.

I believe Obama said during the campaign he felt that retirees should not be taxed on the 1st 50k pf thier income. Don't think that has happened yet.........:-).

I believe during the campaign he argued against Hilary by saying he was opposed to MANDATORY purchase of healthcare. Now I think the spin is that MANDATORY purchase of healthcare IS NOT A TAX.

Great skit and editing job.

Hi Brad blogger, allow me to respond to your interview.
I suspect you edited you little film very carefully.
This administration said it would:

-reign in the gambling and greed of the financial sector. Instead it has the same gang running Treasury and the Federal Reserve.
(It also transferred additional money to the financial sector. With the money given over to the financial sector it could have paid off every home mortgage in the country and funded healthcare for all citizens.)

-revisit NAFTA and other trade treaties that disadvantage the maintenance of manufacturing and REAL nation wealth production. It hasn't and ain't gonna.

-would revitalize the economy with "green" jobs. Instead the stimulus money went to state government to maintain thier work force. After the NE blackout Bush said the grid needed to be and would be remade to make the control and transmission of electricity more efficient. Didn't happen. Obama said there would be rapid deployment of green technologies, reducing our dependence on foreign oil and creating home grown industry. Instead he funded "research".

-Bush was for amnesty for illegal aliens and Obama is as well.

-Bush administration used various PR tricks to dilute enforcement of illegal migration and Obama has continued in the same way.

-Bush introduced the nefarious Patriot Act and Obama maintains it and supports it in court.
-Obama’s administration has defended the phone companies participation in spying on citizens.

-Obama promised no new taxes on the middle class but will mandate the purchase of healthcare coverage, even though in his campaign he said it would not be COMPULSORY. Now they are pointing out while it may increase costs to people it is not a TAX!

-A lot of problems could be solved by not limiting the tax on the wealthiest, such as social security shortfall. Even a public healthcare system could be funded that way. Instead the inequities remain.

Obama continues the policies that have led to the de-industrialization of the country, the collectivization of the means of production, the increase in public debt, and the subservience and dependence of the U.S. government to transnational and private interests.

I think the above are some of the reasons why many people are disgusted with both the Elephants and the Donkeys and don’t see much of a difference between them except for theatre. We get to fork over money to the corporations via the “left” or the “right”.

This was an inane interviewer. His sarcasm was
overwhelming and an insult to anyone's
intelligence. I turned it off after two minutes.
Try not to show us such rubbish in the future. Thanks.

I am not naive enough yet to think that humor is dead. What amazes me in this entire interview is the rabid support that these "wilderness wanderers" so shamelessly stick to their misguided notions/ideas/mindsets. They haven't a clue as to what you are talking about, although you use perfectly succinct language. Their stance, in one word, seems to be, "Duh"!"
My hat's off to you for a really serious topic done in an unbelievable humorous way. I can handle ignorance very well from people. Arrogance and stupidity are a whole other story!

How he keeps from laughing at some of those answers, I don't know. On the serious side I really hope those people interviewed are not the ones who are going to run this country when they "take it back". That would be scary, but then I look at my Blue Dog congressman and I see the same stuff. Oh well!
