One of the reasons that I am a strong proponent of a single-payer, Medicare-for-all proposal is that it is much less complicated than what we are going to end up with in Congress. A single-payer approach saves hundreds of billions of dollars a year because you don’t end up with thousands of different health insurance programs appealing to all different kinds of people and costing a fortune to administer. I am going to continue the fight for single-payer. I am cautiously optimistic that we may end up with legislation that will allow states to go forward with single-payer if they want to.

What Sarah Palin's "Jewish people will be flocking to Israel" prediction really means
Palin's associated with a religious tendency whose leaders promote anti-Jewish conspiracy theory

Hmmm ... Why Do So Many Wingnuts Have Such an Obsessive Fear of Being Raped?
It's all they can talk about in the right-wing media.

Pay for it out of tax revenue.

The government wants universal health care. Fine.
Keep it simple and take it out of tax revenue. Bring some of those troops home and reduce expences.
Don't mandate I go shopping and buy from some vendor and fine me if I don't.

When did it become ok to mandate what I do with my income? That's what taxes are for. You take it and spend it. It a whole other game when you begin telling people how to spend the part you haven't taxed.

Single Payer Has Always Been The Best Plan ...

The current health care battle in Congress and the corresponding deceit of the White House shows us one thing very clearly ... Our governance and our media are corrupt and dysfunctional, which is perfect for the fraud and greed of the corporatocracy.

The phrase "Single Payer" uses the worst frame

for the best picture.

Please STOP calling it "single payer" and we might actually have a chance of the concept catching on with the general public.

United Protection under single payer, or Improved Medicare for All, public insurance utilizing private care, etc. are all better than "One Big Payer". That even scares me, and I support the concept.

Using an administrative frame (single payer) for a human solution (united we are ALL better protected at lower cost) is misguided, wrong, and it's not working. Use a consumer driven frame rather than an administrative one.

End discrimination against sick people in America and establish one nation, under God, with health care liberty and justice for all.

United Protection....UP for short.

It is just that simple. Why are the politicians making this so hard? Medicare for everyone: cheaper, fairer, the right thing to do.

HR 676

We need to get on board supporting HR 676, the Medicare for All bill that John Conyers sponsored.

If you read the text, you will find it only takes about 30 pages to explain the who, what, where, when , why and how of this bill covering everyone from head to toe, birth to death.

This is the only healthcare system that is needed.
Everything else is just profit protection for the industry.

We don't need 1500 pages to tell us what we need.
HR 676 does it in 30.

Wow, this guy pays 1000/mo + 3000 deductible??!!
And I thought my health insurance was expensive:
463/mo, 0 deductible, sliding-scale premium adjusted each year to my income!
By the way: those 463 monetary units are euros -- I live in Germany.
I choose my own GP, and she sends me to specialists as she sees fit. If I want to see other doctors without a referral, I pay an additional 10 euros, a one-time-per-quarter fee.
Admittedly, I do pay for prescriptions: 4 euros each.
Purely because of the health care problem, I won't be moving back to the US any time soon.
Good luck America!

Medicare for all, also known as single payer healthcare, is favored by a majority of Americans.

How can we convince Congress to actually do what the people want?

Tell your members of Congress that unless they support Medicare for all, you won't support them.

Take the Medicare For All Pledge now.

single payer good, smaller military good. one paid for by the other. if we cut the military by half we might have enough left over to give everyone that wants it an education, k through graduate college.
