Two of the House's most vocal members spar over the GOP's ongoing jihad against ACORN. Hat-tip to Jill C. at Brilliant at Breakfast, who adds: "It's frightening that Republicans who know absolutely nothing about the Constitution are allowed to create law in this country."

A legislator who knows the law, and isn't afraid to stand for it. My goodness I haven't spotted on of those in decades.

Wow - a congressman with guts, indeed. It's ABOUT DAMN TIME we have a democrat who's willing to play hard ball. Now, if we just had about 60 more of him in the Senate and a few hundred more in the House, we could finally put an end to this Battered Wife Syndrome and start standing up to these petty tyrants that have been abusing the nation so long.

Rep. Grayson is a real life, modern day Jefferson Smith, the Jimmy Stewart character in Frank Capra's Mr. Smith Goes To Washington.

Not only am I astounded that men like Rep. Broun are so ignorant of the Constitution and relevant Supreme Court decisions and writings are empowered to enact laws, frankly I'm amazed they are allowed to own checking accounts and sign contracts.

As in, either SNL or John Stewart should have a party with this one! I am really disgusted with old , gray-haired men, who are calling the shots who don't don't know their butt from a hole in the ground.

Some dems (not the least of whom our president) have finally learned to call out the irresponsible, outlandish statements put forth by these venal repos because underneath the veneer of righteousness there is nothing, absolutely nothing to back them up. They are vacant, vacuous and inveterate liars.

Can you imagine what a country we would have if only there were a few more members of Congress with the knowledge and backbone of Congressman Grayson. His handling of the Republiclan (not a typo) opposition is absulutely inspiring. I hope that his demeanor is adopted by more members on his side of the aisle, we could make tremendous progress toward fulfillment of the promise of our constitution.

It's pretty wonderful that Alan Grayson has decided to stand up to The Cretins. And stand up, and stand up, and stand up again. The sad part is that very few Democrats seem willing or able to stand up w/him. But it's a lot like this flu that's going around –– it will spread. Nice to be able to be proud of a few Democrats again, & I only hope that the pride will also spread ... brains, logic, knowledge & nerve, it's all we need, kids, to put these dopes away. Good on 'im!! It looks to me as if most of the Republicans can only manage to find their zippers & their excellent medical insurance, whenever they are needed.

I told her that I wanted to know whether she supported Rep. Grayson, and if she agreed with him. I also told her that we needed more like him, and if she didn't support him and a Grayson-style candidate from our district challenged her in 2010, that person would get my vote instead of her.

I just moved into Broun's district...

I noticed that the loop highway around Athens, GA, in Clarke County-which voted for Broun's opponent nearly 2 to 1, is named "Paul Broun Parkway." I wonder if this is to annoy the Athenians. Or maybe, the Athenians named it that themselves, because like his reasoning, it is circular.

What is indeed frightening is that students get out of high school without reading the entire US Constitution. It's only about 15 typewritten pages. They have had plenty of longer texts to study, and none so important.

Needless to say, I plan to work for whoever, or whatever, runs against him.

Isn't it just tad astounding that a gentlemen sent to Washington to represent the people and actually does so, is considered a "hero"? Is this an indication of how far we've strayed from what the framers of our Constitution had in mind?
Don't confuse my intent, I admire and honor Mr Grayson's integrity and grit--I just wish it were more commonplace and that we didn't have to look upon a Representative of the people doing his job as heroic.
I'm a great distance from Mr Grayson's district but I will be generously supporting him financially. What a breath of fresh air he is in that stale atmosphere of stuffed shirts that compose the people's House.

I watch C-Span as regularly as one can watch C-Span. If there more Alans on the channel, it could compete commercially.
Alan is brilliant.
What a joy to watch a real representative of the people.

that the appreciation of Congressman Grayson's determination, no-nonsense-preparation and actions, coupled with a razor-sharp mind and an intimate knowledge of Roberts' Rules of Order, is seen as extraordinary, instead of the norm.
His is the model that we should demand our own representatives live up to--or get out of the way so someone else can do it. The man's got guts--that's for sure. It's a shame he will figuratively stand alone in Congress, for I fear that like when Paul Wellstone stood alone--he too will be targeted.
Someone earlier in the string contacted their elected representatives in Congress and suggested that they emulate Grayson, and I'm going to do the same, hoping he might serve as an inspiration for many more of our elected representatives--great idea--thanks.
Regards,,,John

Go there, a picture of Grayson is there. However it is true that there are not enough of Congresspeople with guts, or eventually get neutered because the opposition is so vile who really do not have respect for the Constitution they just pretend that they do. Remember when Bush said that the Constitution was just a 200 years piece of paper? He also said that it would be easier if we had a dictatorship as long as he was the dictator.
