Pelosi to GOP: Thanks But I'm In My Place

Posted by Staff, AlterNet at 11:18 AM on October 8, 2009.

The wonder is that they don't seem to understand how out of date that kind of rhetoric is.

In a statement (falsely) criticizing Nancy Pelosi for not supporting an escalation of the conflict in Afghanistan, the NRCC offered the hope that General McChrystal, the U.S. commander in Afghanistan, would "put [Pelosi] in her place." In the video to your right, Pelosi responds to a reporter's question on the matter.

Hmmm ... Why Do So Many Wingnuts Have Such an Obsessive Fear of Being Raped?
It's all they can talk about in the right-wing media.

Congrats to Mrs. Pelosi for declaring that she has read such a document, at least at some point, with regard to some aspects of the political process.

Better than her best bud, GWB, anyway.

One last question: where in her Constitution did it enumerate and legitimize the notion of AUMF? Oh, right: she finds her authorization in whatever keeps the blood flowing and the machines of war churning.

2006 -- Democrat majority Congress

2008 -- Democrat in the Whitehouse and a democrat majority congress

2009 -- Perpetual war on Tara still ongoing

Yay, what a wonderful and progressive change that has been brought about, in this most peaceful, healthy, and posperous of ages!

Blue Dog Vs. Progressive Constituent Demographics

47.67% of the constituents of Progressive Caucus members are non-white, while only 25.08% of the constituents of Blue Dog House members are non-white. It isn't that the Blue Dogs have wealthier constituents, just that they seem to have whiter constituents. Somehow, in and of itself, that is enough for Blue Dogs to take a more corporate, conservative policy line.

May I suggest the racial make up of the progressives actually reflects the appeal of the progressive agenda? Progressives in general have some big, concrete, long term, overarching goals. Blue dogs do not.
