There's nothing funny about the death penalty -- especially not in Texas, which leads the country in executions. But this satirical video by comedian Lee Camp lays bare the rotten core of U.S. capital punishment, through the tragic case of Cameron Todd Willingham, who was executed in 2004 for a fire that killed his three young daughters.

Longtime fighters against the death penalty hope that his case will shine a light on the broken and inhumane system of state-sanctioned killing in this country.

News of Willingham's innocence came at the same time that yet another former death row prisoner named Michael Toney was freed in Texas after the state's Attorney General asked that his death sentence and criminal charges be dismissed.
