Fox News Urges Viewers to Keep on Tea Baggin' on July 4th (VIDEO)

This morning on Fox News, Glenn Beck joined the Fox and Friends hosts to promote new anti-Obama, anti-tax tea party protests on July 4. Steve Doocy introduced the segment, “This weekend, of course the 4th of July, Americans are gearing up for a second round of tea parties to protest massive government spending.”

Reprising their role in orchestrating the first tea parties, the lobbyist-run groups Americans for Prosperity and FreedomWorks are again helping to organize the July 4 protests. FreedomWorks is working alongside other right-wing groups on a new website to publicize the events, and Americans for Prosperity is hosting several rallies on the 4th, including one with Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX).

But while these lobbyist-run groups played a pivotal role in financing the logistics and coordination of the tea parties, Fox News was certainly the megaphone for the movement. Just as Fox News became a full-fledged sponsor of the April protests, running back-to-back segments and broadcasting live from protests across the country, the network is attempting to motivate another round of radical, anti-Obama protests on July 4th. In recent weeks and this morning, Fox News has run several segments, including one featuring disgraced Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC), to promote tea parties. Watch it:

Already, Fox News contributor and former News Corp. lobbyist Angela McGlowan is scheduled to appear at the Memphis tea party later this week.

Last year, in the final year of Bush’s presidency, Beck penned an op-ed about how Americans should celebrate July 4 by talking not about “our problems,” but by celebrating “what’s right about America.” Beck also downplayed the “much maligned economy” under Bush, and told readers that the media should use Independence Day to take a break from reporting on “crooked politicians” or “high gas prices.”

Though he demanded that the media depoliticize July 4 last year, Beck and his colleagues at Fox News now seem preoccupied with rallying radical opposition to President Obama.

Digg!

What Sarah Palin's "Jewish people will be flocking to Israel" prediction really means
Palin's associated with a religious tendency whose leaders promote anti-Jewish conspiracy theory

Hmmm ... Why Do So Many Wingnuts Have Such an Obsessive Fear of Being Raped?
It's all they can talk about in the right-wing media.

This is clearly a cut up piece of crap article. Sanford was clearly used before his troubles were outed so that doesn't hold water. At no time do they use the term tea bagging as you so insist. And I am sure most of that cut up b.s. was from the last tea party on April 15th. I don't understand why you guys use the same tactics that you complain about the repug using and think it is ok. This attack piece is full of holes. Why wouldn't you understand people wanting to protest what our Congress and this administration is doing to our country? They are passing Trillions of dollars in bills without even reading them!!!! Someone needs to protest this kind B.S.!!! These gravely affect our livelihoods in a possibly negative way. If there is even a question about this don't you think someone should stop and say hey let's talk about this before we shove it through??? Yea someone needs to protest and soon, and they don't need to be insulted with stupid comments from you. Instead of worrying about Fox or Faux news so much maybe you should look at what our legislators are doing. Or maybe you are one of those that don't have any respect for freedom of speech. Would you like all of our news to come straight from the White House??? What is wrong with different opinions? Someone has to watch and report on the politicians. It used to be called the 5th leg of politics. It is all about checks and balances. When a dem is in charge the righties go crazy, and when a repug is in charge the lefties go nuts. (yea nuts since you are so fond of tea bagging).
learn to be fair, and listen to all sides. You might learn something. or stay deaf and dumb to what others have to say. It is your choice.

Another Big Day for the Plutocracy

Yes. out they will come again: The plutocrats and their mindless, pathetic Dupes all cheering against ending the undeserved taxcut giveaways to the fat cats orchestrated by the Cheney-Bush White House scoundrels, masking their scheming with the announcement that ordinary Americans were behind it all a la the Boston Tea Party. The scoundrels of Fox Newstwister Channel were dispersed around the Country to pretemd to be legitimate journalists
covering the event as newsworthy. In fact, Fox's role was to keep the events solely on its channel all through the day. In Florida, leaders of some of the the ceremonies were identifed by onlookers as residents of very comfortable, gated neighborhoods, who were hardly average citizen protestors. It was plainly commonsensical that this farce was engineered to stir up the redneck Dupes against them un-American libruls in the same way that Limbaloney, Hannutsy, and Shill O'Reilly do it. And now comes word, that there will be another of these antics on July 4th. At the urging of Fox out will come the Dupes in their flivvers festooned with flags and aging McCain/Palin bumperstickers cheering against themselves.

Hate,Lies,mistruths = Fox News

This group of "commentators" have a much class and knowledge as a tree twig. Every story revolves around dividing the country. Imagine IF democrats had "tea parties" during the time their men were in the Oval Office. Lord, they'd have been called everything in the book and blamed for any and all troubles in the world. If anything needs to be run out of the country it's Fox.

Were not even about what we all learned as formulaic pablum in history class. The Boston Tea Party actually came After Britain repealed the tea tax to a lower level, thereby making it easier to afford tea, which our forefathers drank like we guzzle coffee now.

The most interesting historical note is that the rather poorly disguised 'tea-partiers' actually were recognized as aquaintances of John Hancock. The important connection here is that Mr. Hancock, while certainly being one of the founding fathers, also had a very interesting way of making money. Quite simply, he was a tea smuggler. Yes, its true, you can look it up.

It seems political obfuscation has always been alive and well..... Though unfortunately I believe modern technology and a public easily bored have made the job easier over the years.

Three cheers for Fox News!

I used to hate Fox News for their hyperpartisan neo-con agenda, but in recent weeks, I've developed a new sense of respect for them. Some network needs to cover the TEA parties, because the mainstream media is obviously trying to ridicule and/or ignore them in support of more taxes. In fact, The Huffington Post reported that the TEA parties were failures on July 3, one day BEFORE they actually occurred! Talk about Dewey Defeats Truman! Also, I need to watch Fox News these days for actual news on North Korea's missile launch, the Honduras coup, the riots in China, the Iranian protests, etc. All I get in CNN and MSNBC is non-stop Michael Jackson coverage.
