Sarah Haskins tackles the bizarre media obsession with the fact that Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston were at the same award show. OMG!

(If you can’t view the embedded video, click here.)

Mainly, as someone for whom the bulk of her celebrity gossip tends to come from reading the tabloid headlines in the supermarket checkout line, I’m really just both completely amazed and totally not that the entertainment media is still so utterly obsessed with this idea of two women constantly at each other’s throats over a man. Years later.

I mean, granted he is Brad Pitt. But I’m pretty sure that he not only puts his pants on one leg at a time like the rest of us, but that people also come into contact with their current partner’s ex/their ex’s current partner on, like, a fairly regular basis.

I’m also pretty sure that women sometimes have other things on their minds besides men. Like, as Sarah Haskins points out, being filthy rich.

Digg!

Privilege is a cripling thing, not allowing the afflicted to listen to or respect those without the same privilege. I can't imagine that it is an easy thing to get over. Of course, I have white and hetero privilege and try to remember that all the time, so I shut up and listen as much as possible.

That can't be said for most men, sadly. Even liberal men. I guess it is hard when since birth they're told that they don't need to listen to or respect girls and women. So of course they're going to be pains in the ass of any self respecting woman.

ALL THREE BEHAVED WITH DECORUM THROUGHOUT BREAKUP

...which is one reason this obsessive story is so repugnant.

Rarely have I seen a "hot celebrity marriage broken up by even hotter movie star" situation be handled with such public reserve and decorum as this one, by all three principles. No public spats, embarassing soundbites, hostile messages revealed, nothing.

Yet the press keeps hounding them all. Pity, that.

When both of them head over to Gaza to give a hand to some real victims their standing will be put to good use.
Until then, they're just another distraction.

Underfed Women

I think that what both these scrawny, underfed women need is a good meal. Might improve both their dispositions along with their appearances.

Jolie, in particular, would be quite attractive if she'd gain about 25 pounds or so.

It's Hollywood .
It is not YOUR life .We have more pressing issues(think Depression and continued tanking of OUR lives in this economic holocaust.
Do not believe the hype of Hollywood , just enjoy the movies for what they are..a diversion to our own problems for awhile .
Do not care so much for people who don't even know you exist and would probably ignore you if you came face to face .

in putting this story in perspective. I mean, like surely Brad puts his pants on one leg at a time like everybody else, but he has soaked his other "leg" in cider. I thought all was lost when Brad and Jennifer broke up, because like, if THESE two beautiful people got tired of fucking each other, like what chance do the rest of us have...I mean really! Then when I heard that he had started up with Ms. Smith, the Womb Raider, all was right with the world again. The most gorgeous penis was once again soaking in cider, and they were breeding like rabbits.

The sad thing is

...I would guess that roughly 90% of the people following this kind of story are women. Men are not as interested in this type of "journalism" and generally don't care as much about celebrity "catfights." So why are women so interested in a fake item about two women tearing each other down? Blows my mind.

(note - I wasn't able to watch the video, so I'm commenting on the main story)

Now if Aniston and Jolie were to make it a real "catfight" by wrestling each other. . .in mud. . .or jello. . .or even spaghetti. . . . .nude, then I'd be interested. . .briefly.

With love under will,

I do not understand why people are obsessed with this nor do I believe it is real. Seems like the media is making up this "fight". I mean they didn't these people divorce years ago? I bet they could care less.
