Today, Vice President Cheney stood before Congress and read the official results of the 2008 presidential election. After reading the electoral totals, he declared that they "shall be entered, together with a list of the votes, in the journals of the Senate and the House of Representatives." Just as he was about to move on to other business, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) -- who was sitting next to him at the podium -- jumped up from her seat and began applauding, much to the surprise of Cheney. Within seconds, the rest of the chamber was loudly cheering, with Cheney left looking slightly uncomfortable. Watch it (Pelosi comes in around 3:00).

"Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!"

Such gestures are pretty blasé, now that they are safe and relatively meaningless. I can think of better ways for Congress to have spent the last 8 years... that would have given me far greater pleasure than this.

I guess it's news... anyway...

he was just trying to smile--which, I suppose, looks more like a snarl than a smile. :P

'Awkward' would presume he possessed poise

and w/it standing, which is usually accompanied by respect. He is and has none of those qualities, save what the MSM monster has afforded him.

He's not an organized crime fiqure, nor a whitecollar thief. He's a facsimile of a Man all dressed up as a vice-president who takes his orders from the darker side of blackness.

Waterboarding should be but an appetizer for this sad soul's feast.

Cheney needs to finally be told to shut up and get out of the way. He has stood in the path of honesty, and integrity, and now, he needs to be pushed aside.

I felt a moment of pride when Cheney announced Obama's 365 votes, but I confess I did not see Cheney look awkward.

After that, the only reason I remained watching was to see if Sarah Palin's announced 173 votes for VP received considerably less applause than the three heavyweigghts of American governance that preceeded her. It was certainly smaller, but not the deafening silence for which I would've hoped.

Obama's Own Misunderestimation of Words !

Dear America : How is it that the 110% Stone Cold Criminally Insane Behavior of the Bush Administration from His very first day on the job has in every aspect Never in anyway been for the Sole benefit of the American People Or this Wonderful Land We Allow them to dishonor and disrespect daily and ANY MAN OR Gentle person who would try and gift wrap it so it would appear that this "Illegally voted in " administration was some how Duped into Plundering our Country's Once abundant wealth and one after another making there Murderous decisions in as many instances with Global empire making being the ONLY thing "ON HIS MIND" and therefor the overly generous Mr Obama and his wonderful Gift wrapping technique has No Ring of Realism ! In fact anything less than the justice Dept Slapping them ALL in Leg Irons and dragging them all off to a waiting Van so they can ALL ponder the ramifications of the previous 8 yrs, there is No adequate words to describe the amount of way's in which Our trust and our values were violated we won't even go into the number of family's that were "Disappeared" by our Own or the people killed and hurt by the Sicking twisted actions of a Few Older WELL ESTABLISHED American Family's WHO have all SOME HOW HAVE LOST SIGHT of what was the Most Important aspect of being an Older American Family and the Huge Responsibility's that come with it was instead entrusted to a Handfull of Twisted Neo-Con Garbage. And it's Our duty to demand they spend what is left of there Miserable existence behind bar's, but I have a difficult time wondering why Mr Obama would care how G.W.Bush and His Gang of thieves are all looked upon and Why he has Not ordered them Slapped in chains. One would have to be either Completely Deft & Dumb or complicit in the Scheme dating back to the Coop of 2000 right on up to the 9/11/2001. That tragedy is going to have to be for another time.

instead of congress applauding, they should be working on away to lock Chaney and Bush up for all the illegal things they have done over the last 8yrs. War crimes, torture, murder, invasion of another country, thousands killed in Iraq, false imprisonment, economic collapse, banking collapse, housing collapse, millions of jobs lost,do to deregulations, gas prices at an all time high, health care run a muck, and a 10trillion dollar deficit since he stole the office, both times 2000 and 2004. I say throw him in jail just like they would do the average person for those crimes.
