Why Israel Won't Allow Journalists into Gaza

Overnight, the Jerusalem Post carried a story, "Navy Sends Activist Boat Back to Cyprus," which said:

The navy has turned back a boat trying to carry pro-Palestinian protesters to the Gaza Strip, officials said Tuesday

Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said the boat ignored an Israeli radio order to turn back early Tuesday. He said the boat tried to outmaneuver the navy ship and crashed into it, lightly damaging both vessels. The navy then escorted the boat to the territorial waters of Cyprus.

In a report from  AFP, Israeli authorities said is was all just a mistake:

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor told AFP that the naval vessel tried to contact the aid boat by radio for identification and to inform it that it could not enter Gaza.

"After the boat did not answer the radio, it sharply veered, and the two vessels collided, causing only light damage," Palmor said.

The Israeli spokesman accused the pro-Palestinian activists of "seeking provocation more than ever."

But this time, a reporter, Karl Penhaul from CNN, was actually on the boat -- and gave the report you see above as the events were happening:

... the boat, while still in international waters has been rammed by Israeli patrol boats, our vessel has been damaged ... there's been some damage to a roof section and to glass windows around the steering area and the captain says that the vessel is taking on a small amount of water, that at this stage is not life-threatening, but the ship was very severely rammed by one of those Israeli patrol boats, those patrol boats have been following the vessel for the half-hour prior to the ramming incident ... they rammed the vessel without warning but after the ramming there was a radio message saying the Israeli patrol boat was accusing the Dignity of being involved in terrorist activities.

No wonder Israel is continuing its refusal to allow foreign journalists into Gaza.

It is so refreshing to see that the astute and proud sailors of the Israeli navy still hang on to their courageous edge, and will take up the attack on unarmed ships in international waters with no fear whatsoever of personal injury. They didn't quite do it right this time, though. The idea is to cripple the unarmed ship, wait for the survivors to get into life boats, and strafe them with machine gun fire. At least that is what they did to the U.S.S. Liberty.

to tell themselves the truth, let alone anyone else, they'd have absolutely no idea where to begin.

Regrettably, we too are a country only as sick as our secrets, just look around.

Did they make any attempt to find out the reason why the "Dignity" was there in the first place? Why did they believe they were terrorists? Isn't it against the rules of war to intercept medical supplies and humanitarian aid? From the outside looking in the Israelis will be hard pressed to get anybody's sympathy for anything for a long time to come. They are looking bad. ANNA

You are not wrong; the US and Isreal are in this together. Don't believe for a second that Bush didn't get notified of this and gave them the go-ahead.

The NeoCons (most of them Jews) and the Zionists are similar, and are allies, but they are not identical. The Zionists are infinitely more EVIL than the NeoCons. If you want to know their ideology, look up "Gush Emunin" in Google.

The article seems to have nothing to do with the headline "Why Israel Won't Allow Journalists Into Gaza," nor does it answer that question.

Nov. 5, 2008: Gaza truce broken as Israeli raid kills six Hamas gunmen

Gaza truce broken as Israeli raid kills six Hamas gunmen-

Rory McCarthy in Jerusalem -guardian.co.uk, Wednesday 5 November 2008 14.32 GMT

A four-month ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza was in jeopardy today after Israeli troops killed six Hamas gunmen in a raid into the territory.

Hamas responded by firing a wave of rockets into southern Israel, although no one was injured. The violence represented the most serious break in a ceasefire agreed in mid-June, yet both sides suggested they wanted to return to atmosphere of calm.

Israeli troops crossed into the Gaza Strip late last night near the town of Deir al-Balah. The Israeli military said the target of the raid was a tunnel that they said Hamas was planning to use to capture Israeli soldiers positioned on the border fence 250m away. Four Israeli soldiers were injured in the operation, two moderately and two lightly, the military said.

One Hamas gunman was killed and Palestinians launched a volley of mortars at the Israeli military. An Israeli air strike then killed five more Hamas fighters. In response, Hamas launched 35 rockets into southern Israel, one reaching the city of Ashkelon.

"This was a pinpoint operation intended to prevent an immediate threat," the Israeli military said in a statement. "There is no intention to disrupt the ceasefire, rather the purpose of the operation was to remove an immediate and dangerous threat posted by the Hamas terror organisation."

In Gaza, a Hamas spokesman, Fawzi Barhoum, said the group had fired rockets out of Gaza as a "response to Israel's massive breach of the truce".

"The Israelis began this tension and they must pay an expensive price. They cannot leave us drowning in blood while they sleep soundly in their beds," he said.

The attack comes shortly before a key meeting this Sunday in Cairo when Hamas and its political rival Fatah will hold talks on reconciling their differences and creating a single, unified government. It will be the first time the two sides have met at this level since fighting a near civil war more than a year ago.

Until now it had appeared both Israel and Hamas, which seized full control of Gaza last summer, had an interest in maintaining the ceasefire. For Israel it has meant an end to the daily barrage of rockets landing in southern towns, particularly Sderot. For Gazans it has meant an end to the regular Israeli military raids that have caused hundreds of casualties, many of them civilian, in the past year. Israel, however, has maintained its economic blockade on the strip, severely limiting imports and preventing all exports from Gaza.

Ehud Barak, the Israeli defence minister, had personally approved the Gaza raid, the Associated Press said. The Israeli military concluded that Hamas was likely to want to continue the ceasefire despite the raid, it said. The ceasefire was due to run for six months and it is still unclear whether it will stretch beyond that limit.

If somebody walks by your home and wafts a burning gasoline filled bottle into your property you will probably call for police? Yes/No
If the police do not do anything about it and it happens a few more times you will likely be forced to do something about it yourself?
Yes/No
If the activities continue you will get violent to try and stop the threat even though it may be violence that is in fact against the law?
Yes/No
If you have answered no at any time to these questions you Sir/Madam are a liar, an idiot, or you are dead now.
If you answered yes to the above questions you are Israel.

Israeli war crimes in Gaza aided and abetted by the US

Bravo! Israel rammed a yacht carrying 3 tons of medical supplies to Gaza, and forced it to put in at a port in Lebanon. The former US ambassador to Jordan, Richard N. Veit, stated recently that the US is complicit in Israeli oppression of Gaza.

Israeli military operation "Cast Lead" planned over six months ago,

well before the cease fire was begun. Thus, the IDF and Likud planned to take advantage of the last two months of the Bush administration to destroy as much of Hamas as possible and set the process back to square one for the incoming Obama administration.

More bad faith and genocide from the Zionist extremist's in Israel.

U.S. Media Compliicty

" Humanitarian crises in the eyes of SOME ", good job qualifying a well known fact NBC and who exactly disagrees that there is no humanitarian crises .
That's what I just heard , including the obfuscation of all reporting from U.S. propaganda media in the U.S. , that includes comments like " reporting from the Gaza/Israel border , instead of telling viewers, all reporting is from ISRAEL and the issue of not allowing reporters into Gaza is NEVER addressed publicly and no Israeli politician is EVER asked WHY ?
Everything , EVERYTHING is framed to mislead , obfuscate and make Israel look like the victim, from Nic Roberts(CNN) idiotic and dramatic rolling on the ground behind a car , (played many times daily ) with sirens going off , but no explosions .
The obvious is the limiting of reports from hospitals , pictures of bloody children is too uncomfortable and sensitive for the image of Israel and one thing that really irks me is the lack of AUDIO , the censoring the sounds of suffering is obviously done to filter the stories they report .
On Cnn's own web site they out right lied with the bombing of Hamas leader Nizar Rayan home, saying " one killed " when in fact the complicit cnn knew there were several kids killed and at least four women .
When 21 Palestinians were killed by an Israeli missile in ONE DAY , ONE DAY , the zionist wolf bliter , the complicit wolf blitzer went on with his normal manufactured political controversies and didnt utter ONE FKN WORD, regulating the story to a fast moving scroll on the bottom of the screen . Yet when one Israeli is killed , they go live, with video and with interviews and repeat the story , all damn day and when Rick Sanchez wanted to play the scare card while hyping the " tunnels" a Arab reporter who was there , indicated that mostly food and supplies were being smuggled , but that is what he Didn't want to hear , he abruptly cut him off .
Now , it's Israelis TACTICS with idiotic and sympathetic questions like " how difficult will it be for Israel to go into Gaza " "will they be bogged down " , instead how bad will it be for Residents , worst , an even worst human catastrophe , a catastrophe made possible by sycophants and zionist in the u.s. media , most of which are complicit in filtering the carnage in Gaza and the dehumanization of PALESTINIANS .
END THE OCCUPATION AND LAND THEFT AND LONG LIVE THE RESISTANCE !
