John Cusack Tackles War Profiteers Today on Meet the Bloggers

Celebrated Actor and filmmaker John Cusack will be our special guest this Friday to discuss an issue neither presidential candidate is talking about: war profiteering. War, Inc., Cusack's latest film which he starred in and co-wrote with Jeremy Pikser and Mark Leyner, satirized the outsourcing of military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Cusack will discuss his thoughts on the war and his influences for the film, including the works of Naomi Klein and Jeremy Scahill.

Joining Cusack will be bloggers Marcy Wheeler (Empty Wheel) and Liliana Segura (AlterNet), and this week, we have a special announcement. Since Meet the Bloggers has been pre-recorded, these bloggers will take part in the live blog discussion.

She would like to impose her own rather low version of morality on this nation and probably more of the world. I don't think that hers is a good description of Christian morality and I would bet there are few genuinely religious persons who would agree with her on her lifestyle. She accused Joe Biden of talking about the past, but nobody is hankering after past centuries than than she seems to be doing. I think she might want to go all the way back to the 1800s or earlier, when there was no law enforcement (and no churches or schools) at all in the "Wild West." His message is right on, Tom, don't pick on him, grill the Republican instead. Selling government bonds is the answer, the patriotic way to invest in your country, and where everyone wants to put their money when they don't have faith in the stock market. (Duh.)
