Bush Is the 'Picture of a Beaten Dog'

In the wake of yesterday's congressional meltdown over the bailout bill, President Bush gave a speech this morning, meant to reassure the public and the volatile financial markets. Just four minutes long, the address expressed disappointment in Congress and warned that "the consequences will grow worse each day if we do not act."

Bush's speech is unlikely to have much of an effect. Immediately following the address, MSNBC turned to New York Magazine's John Heilemann, who commented:

I don't think that comforts anybody. I don't think that moves a single vote. With due respect and sympathy for the man, that was the picture of a beaten dog. That was the picture of presidential impotence right there. He looked terrible like his bell had been rung. He looked drawn to me.

The Wall Street Journal's Peggy Noonan added, "It strikes me lately, when the President talks about the economic crisis, that he seems like a commentator upon the crisis as opposed to the leader in the crisis. There is the sense that he is watching it saying we need to do something, as opposed to we will do something." Watch Bush's speech, followed by MSNBC's commentary:

As the Washington Post writes today, yesterday's failed bailout vote "marked the biggest legislative defeat of Bush's tenure and underscored the vanishing influence of a president who could once bend a pliant Congress to his will on wars, taxes, surveillance and a host of other high-profile initiatives."

Coinciding with these developments, Gallup has released a new poll today showing that Bush's approval rating has dropped to the lowest point in his tenure:

if you think this criminal bush looks like a beaten dog, you should have seen the families of friends who were killed on 9/11, you might imagine the faces at Gitmo, Iraq or the VA Hospitals.

Arrest Silverstein/Bushcon and heal or stay stuck in the Lies.

Remember Bush Saying He Had Political Capital in 2004?

And he said he was "gonna cash it in." Well, his so-called political capital has just been returned to him marked "Insufficient Funds."

What a despicable legacy he will have, and rightfully so. To call himself an American is disgusting.

Take Bush/Cheney/Bernanke/Paulson OUT OF THE PICTURE!

If congress wants public opinion on their side, they need to get some people with no ties to the Bush Administration to come in and guide them as to what to do with NO consideration of the finances of the CEOs that made millions or even billions off this mess.
And at the same time, they need to get law enforcement and the IRS on the job. The FBI has been investigating since MARCH and the Paulson/Bush proposal effectively STOPS the FBI.
If those in congress were smart and/or honest, besides the few who have been from the start like Kucinich, Kaptur, Wexler and a few others, they would have told Paulson to "take a hike". All Paulson and Bernanke and the rest care about is "filling the old coffers" of themselves and their buddies and no one is ever going to trust anything they say again. For the democrats, led by "impeachment is off the table" Pelosi, to jump on the Bush bandwagon is ludicrous. AND if Nancy nay sayer had left impeachment on the table and allowed hearings to go forth, this probably would have been avoided 2 years ago.

Bush thought he was going to be greeted as a liberator in the bailout. The frat boy looks like his fraternity house got closed. He is the worst president, ever. That may be depressing him.

Announcing: Grand Theft America - (but this is no game)

What happened to the FBI probe?

Why was it stopped? Trust me, it's been tabled (although you'll never hear it from the Main Stream Media).

Why haven't the Feds at least gazed at the list of the Senators (as well as the Congress) who are screeching and baying (like the dogs that they are) for this 'Grand Theft America'?

Why doesn't the FBI bring those members of the Senate in, for a nice, extended questioning--? (Which, this close to Election Day, would in fact remove them from DC more or less permanently)???

Grand Theft America, in Three Parts:

The Game

The Announcement

The "Fix" (as in, The Fix Is Already In)

With due respect

.... to Amanda Terkel, Bush doesn't deserve our sympathy, and he is certainly not due any respect. The spectacle now unfolding before us is karma coming home to roost, and it is not a pretty picture.

Let's just hope it isn't too late to save this country, once we get rid of Bush and Co. It's going to be a long, hard task, but I believe that when Obama/Biden are in the White House, the sight of intelligent, caring, competent human beings running the country again, will energize us to the point that we may just have a chance.

maybe now would be a good time to impeach them. I want this guy and his cronies to answer for their crimes and spend time in prison. I don't want them retiring to a life of luxury based on the money they've stolen and the misery they've caused around the world. They've committed capital crimes, but I don't support the death penalty. Let them live out their lives in prison and disgrace. IMPEACH NOW!

I can not accept Pelozzi's excuse for not initiating hearings into the conduct of this administration? W & Dick belong behind bars.

What I saw on my TV was the little boy who falsely cried "Wolf" twice - now the wolf is really there - but no one believes him. Credibility shot! Even if the wolf is there, clearly he doesn't know what to do about it.

Bush has already "checked out"

He may still maintain an office in the White House, but he's already checked out!

He's aware that he has absolutely NO credibility.

Dick Cheney gets shouted down by his own House Republics when he tries going to Capitol Hill to do some "arm twisting."

This administration is RADIOACTIVE. No one wants to touch them, out of fear they will be infected, too.

They can't leave soon enough! What a national embarrassment!

The greatest threat to our national security is the Bush cabal. Nobody in their right mind believes a word these sociopaths utter. If there were a genuine national emergency (and I'm not at all convinced that the financial meltdown is), who would believe these criminals?

Our national security is at risk every day that these morons remain in power. They have ZERO credibility.

I recently visited the courtroom where the Nazis were tried, and it became more vivid to me. Bush and Co. should be tried for the same crimes and hanged. That would teach future would-be warmakers that killing thousands does have consequences. It would also teach the Refucklicans that there's a limit to their lying and cheating.

if we believe this liar is a "beaten dog". Beaten Dogs come out fighting and vicious. This is all an act to successfully panic the Congress into turning over to his Administration the financial control of this nation.

Congress is being conned by Wall Street (the bigger investors are deliberately manipulating the markets to panic Main Street into pushing Congress to pass the bill), and they are not listening to the more reasoned economists. This part and parcel of the final take over of this government if we allow ourselves to be panicked. Read the following two websites and you must tell your friends and families not to panic. Leave your money in the larger banks; keep your 401Ks intact; and whatever you do, DO NOT CAUSE A RUN ON A BANK OR CIVIL UNREST BECAUSE OF THE FALLOUT THAT WILL FOLLOW THIS BILL'S PASSAGE.

If we react violently either economically or physically, Bush will declare martial law and we are all sunk. Vote for Obama despite his vote on this bill - if you vote for McCain and Palin, you are also falling to the trap that Cheney and Bush have set because McCain will die of old age or cancer and there will be civil upheaval over Palin. That is why these two were allowed to be the ticket!

So read, learn your history, see the pattern, and then get everyone you know to take to the phones demanding the news media reveal this scam!

as well as on your computer?

The Senate votes tonight at 9:00, (www.c-span.org), and this bailout plan is even worse!

Got a newsletter from Democrats.com. According to them, these scoundrels have added an interesting change:

"So how did Congressional leaders respond the their defeat? They made the bill worse by adding $100 billion in tax breaks favoring the rich. They didn't just put lipstick on the pig, they added pearls!" [Great graphic: a pig in lipstick and pearls.]

The beaten dog comment reflects Karma coming full circle and we now see it on his face. He has fed us junk politics, junk foreign policy, and massive coverups to hide these.

I was reminded of Bushes equally junk War, the Iraq War, based on junk political science and junk intelligence. I believe I detect a pattern. :) I found myself wanting your readers to get a peek at the best (and funniest) video satire ever done on Bush's crazy Iraq war fiasco. It's called "The Plumbers: with George W. Bush and D. Cheney" and it is here.

Sincerely,
