Earlier today, Mark Sanford told The State he went to Argentina about 18 months ago on a taxpayer-funded Commerce Department trip.

Sanford, in a brief interview in the nation's busiest airport, said he has been to the city twice before, most recently about a year and half ago during a Commerce Department trip.

So he had an affair with a woman from Argentina, and he recently visited there on the taxpayer dime.

According to Sanford's travel reports, he spent $21,488 on a trip to Brazil, Argentina, and China. However much of that can be allocated to his trip to Argentina, it still means taxpayers likely spent thousands on his affair.

Wow.

In addition, Ben Smith notes two taxpayer-funded trips to Argentina made by Sanford in the mid-1990s, though Sanford indicated he met the woman with whom he had the affair eight years ago.

What's wrong with a nice American girl in Charlotte? What kind of affair is this anyways? Why am I not buying this story that the governor had an "affair" with someone he saw once every so many years??? This whole story is a crock and it needs to get tracked down. There is a lot more going on here than we are being told - it makes no sense. This is the most laid back affair in history.

Unless those voters in South Carolina are totally asleep, there should be a call to action to get rid of this ambitious hypocrite. And find someone a bit straighter next time!

I do believe that it's well past time for the Republicans to give up on being the party of family values. Each one of the dirty four, or is it five, current culprits had something to say about the dirty deeds of others; on that score alone they should all be canned. What's happened to the Republican party that these scumbags are all allowed to continue in office?

Ya Gads man, when will the madness end; when we have no more Republicans? Here's hoping.

Recently, Sen. Ensign got busted, now Gov. Sanford is busted. What's a voter to do? I don't know, maybe vote for a Democrat next time.

At least Democrats admit that they have a problem keeping it in their pants, but since Republicans like to make us think that they are immune to "all that", and want us to vote for them because they represent the party of "Values", then you have to keep your "word"! If you break your "word", then there is nothing.

When the "Founding Fathers" of this nation signed the Declaration of Independence, they pledged their "sacred honor" to those principles, knowing full well that they had signed their death warrant. And, we all know the story about Benedict Arnold, betrayal. Here to, is the story of betrayal. Betrayal, not only to his family, but also of a public trust. "The Gov." and his family will have to deal with this matter in their own way, but the public trust concerns us, the public who trusted him at his "word". But, once again we have found that the "Image has feet of clay". We all have "feet of clay", but really, why don't you Republicans cut the crap with all your phony, Republican, moralistic, bullshit. Who the fuck do you think you are? Answer: self-righteous bastards! End of line.
