Retired Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff General Richard Myers was "hoodwinked" into believing aggressive interrogation techniques used on Guantánamo detainees were taken from the army's field manual, University College London law professor Philippe Sands claims in his new book, Torture Team, scheduled for release in May. Excerpts from the book were published by the UK Guardian newspaper Saturday. Sands alleges the new techniques, approved by then Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, were actually developed by inexperienced Guantánamo lawyers and pushed through by senior Bush administration lawyers Alberto Gonzales, David Addington and William Haynes.

Myers reportedly believed the prisoners were protected against torture by the Geneva conventions' Common Article 3 even though a memo written by Haynes made it clear the Guantánamo detainees could not rely on the protections. According to former chief of staff to then Secretary of State Colin Powell, Larry Wilkerson, Rumsfeld recommended Myers for the job because he "was not a very powerful chairman" and was easily cut out of important meetings and plans. The Guardian has more.

Senator Prescott Bus belong to a German secret society who supported the Germans during ww1 as a US military officer. Prescott Bush sit o the board of Yale University and skull and Bones who worked his freinds in military intelligence who chose his son Lt GHW Bush was a spy for the OSS and Skull and Bones. Fought only 6-7 monthd before murdering his friends before he freaks out and made combat ineffective, who was sent home on the idiot excuse to get marriaed before a major operation where his skills where needed more than him getting married. He gets married and waits for the war to end to be first in line for Yale who lives next door to a day OSS recuritor When he grad from Yale he join the civilian side of the CIA. His son who joined the same skull and Bones followed in his father foot steps by becoming a CIA officer which is a clear violation of the law because he has never declarted his staus in the CIA to the public has a covert officer is a felony
Bush has created treason by not telling the public that he is a CIA officers who is the grandson of a Nazi spy, who sent special unites to Germany to save all of his Nazi friends that he could including Nazi snipers and Nazi kill teams protected by the CIA. The same people who tried to kill FDR are the same people who killed JFK. Nazi aassasintion teams who worked for the CIA, who lived in Dallas who did not have to run from the scence of the crime just go home and to go to work by just acting natural. The mob and the Nazi had a good relationship. Unlike the Illegal Mexican the Nazi's felth at home in America with the 2 million Germany immigrint

"Retired Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff General Richard Myers was "hoodwinked" into believing aggressive interrogation techniques used on Guantánamo detainees were taken from the army's field manual..."

So, what... he couldn't look it up himself? He couldn't read the Army Field Manual? Or worse, he isn't already familiar with what's in the Army Field Manual?

These guys are unbelievable... when the truth starts to come out about their complicity, they claim ignorance! "I was hoodwinked!" "I was lied to!" "I didn't know!"

Now he's trying to cash in by selling a book that further perpetrates his latest lies. What does this say about our leaders? They are all peddling books. Their feigned outrage upon being caught in criminal behavior is disgraceful. War crimes tribunals are a must if we are to ever recover from what has been done to us and in our name.
