Mother of Two Soldiers Latest to Allege Rape, Cover-up by KBR

Certainly appears to be a pattern ... how many more have gone unreported?

Via ABC News, the third allegation of rape (and cover-up) against KBR to emerge in recent months:

Yet another woman has come forward saying she was brutally raped in Iraq while working for the U.S. contractor Kellogg Brown Root (KBR).

Dawn Leamon, who has two sons on active duty, says she was raped earlier this year by a U.S. soldier and a KBR colleague.

She will tell her horrific story to members of Congress today at a hearing of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

Leamon says that following her rape, she spoke with a woman at the KBR Employee Assistance Program. "She discouraged me from reporting, saying, 'You know what will happen if you do,'" Leamon said.

Leamon says KBR then assigned full-time security guards to her which gave her no privacy to talk about the incident, and her movements around camp were restricted, yet her attackers' movements were unrestricted.

"KBR did little or nothing to restore my sense of safety after I reported being raped," said Leamon.

At the recent Winter Soldier Hearings, I learned that in many cases the military doesn't cover the cost of rape test-kits -- victims often have to pay for them out of pocket. That's not directly related to this story about KBR, a private contractor, but I think it's an eye-opening indication of the larger military culture in which the firm operates.

Riot Cops Gas Docile Crowd Outside the RNC
It should be stressed that this wasn't a loud boisterous march like Monday's, but just a crowd of 100 people walking calmly down the street.

must be tried, convicted and severly punished. How about waterboarding and then the gallows?

Democracy Now! and testifies today at a congressional committee. It was one of her soldier sons who convinced her to report her rape.

I'm hoping they will televise the hearings on CSPAN. People need to know about this - and these criminal contractors need to be held accountable and the rapists need to be in prison!

KBR = King Bush's rapists.

This is really what they are, his personal goons.
(Of course, MANY people are the president's personal goons.)

Maybe the Mercenary can get her Volunteer Action Army son's to recruit their own vigilante volunteers and go beat up the rapist Mercenaries to avenge the internecine and, yes, sometimes violent ravaging corruption that results from the thinking of an unthinking obeisant family when it collides with the corrupt Blackmercenary hiring Regime they faithfully and patriotically follow into the glorious troop-supporting, tax-supported war machine with its perpetual military riots of high tech attended carnage in our own glorious faith- based Nation bent on corporatism and the ruination of Democracy; the Democracy that had been, heretofore, the longest living democracy (republic) in the entire world, but is now in a putrid decaying state of dysfunctional decadence. Amen brothers and mother sister. Welcome to the fold of the disaffected.

May we all find peace in unconditional pacifism.

Does anyone know if these employess of the
slime contactors such as KBR and Halliburton
are allowed to carry firearms?

If yes, why aren't there a bunch of dead rapists littering the area? If no,
why are these people in the middle of such a God Forsaken quagmire?

In particular, WHY are women in Iraq KNOWING
that our useless government and our slime
weasel "representatives" will not protect
said women? and to be redundant, if they
are allowed to defend themselves, WHY are any
rapists walking around alive?

A pox on the mercenaries, all of them and a pox on the troops, all of them. The point is well taken that she should not be there at all, inflicting death and destruction on civilians. Its time to dis-honor the 'troops'. They have had time to figure it out; they work for the figurative devil.
