(Last night, during his primetime speech from the podium at the Republican National Convention, Senator Joe Lieberman made the following statement: "... if John McCain is just another partisan Republican, then I'm Michael Moore's favorite Democrat.  And I'm not. And I think you know that I'm not.")

Dear Joe:

John McCain IS just another partisan Republican -- so that must mean you ARE my favorite Democrat!

But how can you be my favorite Democrat when you are no longer a Democrat? This is very confusing. I was in the middle of taking out the garbage and, all of a sudden, there you were, trash-talking me in front of thousands of cheering (mostly) white people on TV.

What is it with you and your Republican friends always bringing me up? Can't you stop thinking about me? It's starting to sound like a fetish! Stop it! Four years ago at the last Republican Convention, John McCain, in his convention speech, also trashed me, calling me a "disingenuous filmmaker" because I called all of you out in "Fahrenheit 9/11." The crowd at Madison Square Garden went berserk. McCain didn't know I was sitting above him in the press box, and the crowd wouldn't stop screaming at me, so I flashed them the "Big L" loser sign and, well, nine of New York's finest had to help me get out of there alive.

With all the problems facing the world, why is valuable time being wasted reviewing a movie and attacking a filmmaker? And now you, Joe, tonight. Do you think you're energizing the "base" by attacking me? Better take a look at the scoreboard. While your side has spent years trying to make me the boogeyman, let's see how it's worked:

  • 2006 Congressional elections: Republicans lose 30 seats in the House and 6 seats in the Senate;
  • States That Have Lost a Republican Governor (and elected a Democrat) since 2002: Kansas, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Tennessee -- EACH ONE OF THEM A RED STATE!;
  • Latest Gallup Poll: Obama hit 50% yesterday for the first time for either candidate, 8 points ahead of McCain!

Do you see the trend?

Putting me in your convention speeches, attacking me nonstop on talk radio and Fox News -- and thinking that this helps you -- shows just how out of touch you all are.

Two-thirds of the country agree with my position on the war, two-thirds of the country agree with my position on a single-payer universal health care system, two-thirds believe in some form of gun control -- name the documentary, pick the issue, and the American public agrees with Michael Moore. So get over me, will ya? You're only hurting yourself. And I've got to finish taking out the garbage.

"... if John McCain is just another partisan Republican, then I'm Michael Moore's favorite Democrat. And I'm not. And I think you know that I'm not." Now click your heels together and say, "There's no place like home on the Republican minority side of the aisle."
Yours,
Michael Moore

Your one of mine, favorite boy scouts that is.

So it took a bunch of cops to get you out alive. What is up with these people trying to start riots? have you noticed a trend, picking on scouts? it is not surprising when you consider what they are.

Thank you Michael. I was VERY PLEASED to learn you were an Eagle scout. Congratulations! It shows.

There are quite a few of them in my family, two of my sisters are the right kind of christian so their husbands and sons... it didn't fit for me, what scout man could handle a witch?

So I had to do he best that I could, he was in cub scouts. He is a nice guy. They brainwashed him and he just didn't believe in me, that's why things got ugly. Rove did it.

Attack The Messenger.
Spin, repeat, spin, repeat ...etc.

(See Page 2 of the RNC handbook; Page 1 explains that "What's good for a Republican is Not good for anyone else".

You see, if they're talking about Michael Moore or that "Liberal Media", then they're not talking about the issues that matter.

The Repub's have to make these presidential elections about character assassination, because talking issues is really bad news for them. Look at where we've ended up after 8 years of the republican lead bush/cheney fiasco -You want to run on That?

Why would anybody want to vote into government a party that openly states it hates government, and has spent the last 30 years trying to dismantle it?

Hey Michael-

Your comments were terrific and very, very welcome. I need a little humor about now. Joe Lieberman certainly is funny, but in such a weird, scary way that I am not moved to laughter!

And Sarah Barracuda: Eeekkkk! I also would like to laugh at her, but my heart is in my throat! I just keep hoping that American voters are not stupid enough to fall for the right-wing emotional manipulation and vote for McCain. Even though this nomination is a joke, I just cannot bring myself to utter a peep!

Let us hope that after November 4, we will be able to have a laugh-a-thon and let out all of our suppressed wild giggles!!!!!!!! Until then, I'm just scared--very, very scared!

Joe has a personality disorder, with a cynical narcissisim that can't follow up on what he says, or say what he really intends. Right now he is pretending to be a Democrat who is reaching across the isle. What a load. Joe couldn't care less about putting America first when Joe always puts Joe first. Joe doesn't keep promises, he has no loyality to anything or anyone, and he never means anything that comes out of his mouth. He wears whatever disguise he thinks will get him what he wants. This man is a disgusting example of a US Senator.

Its just business, Michael

Dear Michael:

The reason Joe Lieberman, McCain and every other Republican bash you in public is because you have the nerve to uncover and publicly discuss the shortcomings of their 'product.' You are successful when you comment on the fact that their product doesn't deliver. They've spent millions in advertising to promote their product and conceal its true crappiness, and they aren't going to let you walk in off the street with a movie camera and reveal the truth without a strong counter-attack.

The product is in fact, garbage. You reveal the fact that it doesn't work, has never worked (despite the advertising,) and that the money-back guarantee was always bogus. You are discrediting their product, and so they are now working hard to discredit, or marginalize or harrass you -- all tested corporate battle tactics.

The GOP is so obsessed with corporate business and the market, that they have literally become a corporation themselves, with a name brand and a product. Their product is terrible (for everyone but the top 1% of the economic pyramid,) but they keep selling it to the struggling masses through a carefully crafted advertisement plan. That, and a whole lot of intimidation.

The long term goal is to run their competition out of business; or simply buy them out - Joe Lieberman being an excellent example - so that their lousy product is the only one on the market.

They've already bought the media, so as to keep their advertising campaign on the air 24/7, while subtly bashing anything that threatens their product under the guise of 'covering the news.' If the actual news of the day shows their product in a negative light, they simply withhold this news or make up an alternate reality. Spin is in.

Its just business, Michael.

But Michael... you just won't play. You don't like their product, and you won't join their corporation. And so of course they see you as The Competition. The Competition must be hit and hit hard, at every opportunity.

You are actually advocating something that isn't even a product: a dangerous mindset that they hope to eventually stamp out with their corporate world view... democracy.

Having Lieberman appear in the RNC was a real coup for the republicans. It truly shows the bipartisan nature of McCain.

The democrats would never reach across the aisle such as this!

It says a lot more about McCain and his ability to get things done. McCain/Hillary would have been a bone crusher for the democrats!

He is a through and true Zionist, ambassador of the interests of the state of Israel. To call this traitor a Democrat is libelous, afterall the party got rid of him. He kisses up to the Bushits since they share his interests in the well being of the terrorists from Tel Aviv.
