Rove is still very much in the thick of it.

Despite the fact that he talks "fairly regularly" with top advisers to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), former Bush political guru insists on denying that he is an informal adviser to McCain's campaign. But in a new article, Time magazine highlights how "dialed in" Rove is with McCain's campaign efforts:

In private, Rove speaks regularly with the McCain campaign, where his former protégé Steve Schmidt is now the manager. He's also dialed in at the Republican National Committee, run by Mike Duncan, another former aide. And he still lunches two or three times a month with President Bush.

As ThinkProgress has previously noted, one reason Rove may be reluctant to admit his ties to the McCain campaign is the fact that he is also reported to be "developing outside groups" to help Republicans and John McCain in November. It is illegal for outside groups to coordinate with campaigns.

Update: And as this morning's Politico piece demonstrates, Rove is heavily involved in McCain's vice presidential selection.

Digg!

INDICT ROVE

Call your congressman, demand that Congress hold Rove in contempt for refusing to testify when subpoenaed. This is a unelected RAT who is making vital decisions about OUR country behind our backs. What the hell is Rove doing in Russia? This creep needs to be stopped, for much bigger crimes than planning MsSame's campaign. Rove needs jailed or deported (who would take his nasty self!) for crimes against humanity, of which he is explictely involved.

to think, like Cheney before him, that Rove is fixing it so HE ends up as the choice for VP?

McCain still hasn't decided?

The potentially ironic nature of the situation is just amazing. Personally, I am glad I am living to see it.

McCain/Rove - the unbeatable (unbearable?) team (snigger).

OK, not really, but here's whassa deal...

I just moved to Argentina. I'm a hotel for now - apartment soon. The only channel on which I can watch coverage of the convention is Fox News. Compared to Bill Kristol and the other ninnies they have on thier broadcast, Rove comes across as reasoned and thoughtful. But only in comparison. Obviously, he's still every bit the bloated hack that the rest of 'em are.

I'd never spent this much time with Hannity, O'Reilly, Hume and the gang before. I had NO idea that it was this bad a situation. They're a bunch of clowns. No wonder Bushy got a second term...

What? It's illegal to do what Rove is doing? Where do you people get your facts. If Rove wants to do something, by god, he's a Merican, and he can do it. Mericans can do whatever they please. We can borrow like no tomorrow from the Chinese to pay the Arabs for endless supplies of oil. We can torture until innocent people will confess that they hate and despise their grandmothers. But most especially, Mericans can do whatever they want because anyone can become a Supreme Court Justice. Even Harriett Meyers!

This is a sign for hope. The mainstream media actually pointing out some of the connections of the Karl Rove smear machine.
I wrote a comment yesterday in which I asserted that Karl Rove was running McCain's campaign. Good to know my suspicion was accurate. We need to spread the news as far and fast as we can - Karl Rove is McCain's Brain, too.
The same guy who brought Jeff Gannon into the White House and outed Velerie Plame. The same guy who made Fox News the Voice of the White House. The same guy who fled the country to the Ukraine when called to testify before Congress under oath.
Coward, Criminal, McCain's Campaign Boss.
If it isn't so, John, ask anyone associated with Karl Rove to leave the campaign.
And tell Karl Rove not to talk to anyone associated with your campaign. Just do it. Straight talk. Not Karl Rove talk.

This is no surprise to me, but maybe those who are thick as pig s**t might find it revelatory. You need to publish photos, though, because they won't bother to read the article.

Stand up and get counted when it matters. REAL MEN accept the comsequences of their own actions and behaviour.

On the Other hand RODSENTS runa and hide when approached about their behaviour. They like to hide in tiny black underground holes.

So which is Rove and his candidates/political butt buddies.

Rove has a big stake in getting McCain elected. It's his only hope for staying out of prison.

NOBODY'S GOING TO JAIL

But we don't have to allow them back in the White House. If McCain gets elected the only one to go will be Bush. Rove, Cheney and the rest of the regime will stay on and continue to call the shots as they have for years. McCain has been their "puppet heir apparent" all along. He didn't just change his mind on so many things. He's not even elected and he's taking his marching orders from the ususal suspects. Thanks, ANNA

It took this long?

It actually took this long for everyone to figure this out? No wonder why a President with a 35% approval rating can "WIN" an election in 2004. Because everyone just lets it happen.

This is why Rove quit his post at the white house. This deal was cut back in 2004 after a dirty preliminary McCain. Out of nowhere McCain decided to throw in the towel and give his support to Bush after Bush's campaign called McCain a traitor. This coming from a man that could NOT even complete his tour of "STATESIDE" duty during Vietnam.

And since it takes the media so long to figure this out, do NOT be surprised when McCain "wins" this election and it all hinges on one state!

I certainly hope he is;if someone dosent wake up and do something we are going to end up with another puppet for the next four years at the least.(And I am not refering to Mccain).Obama has his own agenda which includes his friends Ayers and Rezko and the reverend Wright.Possibly Louis Ferrakan. The media are so in love with him he is not allowed to be questioned.

I assume the title of this article is a rhetorical question. Karl Rove is there everyday, in spirit, if not in body. Rove wrote the only playbook the Republicans can use. They can't run on their stellar record of integrity and good government. Smoke, mirrors, and dirty tricks; that's all they have and that's Karl Rove.

Machiavelli's Shadow: The Rise and Fall of Karl Rove...by Paul Alexander.

In addition to his admittedly bizarre parents, this gives an idea about how Bush took the White House, and how - with Rove's help - McBush will do the same this November.

Rove running McBush's campaign? The only thing that'll stop him is a LANDSLIDE FOR OBAMA. NOBODY NOWHERE STAY HOME--and that includes all the disaffected Republicans, who once were fervent Bush supporters and who now don't want to vote for McCain because, well, the McBush factor...

In fact...
Posted by: jvaljon1 on Aug 29, 2008 6:13 PM
Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
...everybody should buy and read the book. Rove's clearly looking to become McSame's political adviser, just like he was Bush's.

Again...the book's called: "Machiavelli's Shadow, The Rise And Fall Of Karl Rove" by Paul Alexander, and it's available at your local B&N or Borders--you'll have to ask for it, however.

I believe it to be REQUIRED READING for anyone planning to sit home this Election Day. Even though the Democrats have done their level and most excellent best, to lose this election--we can't afford to let them lose this one. Cause with McSame in the White House AND ROVE AS HIS POLITICAL ADVISOR JUST LIKE HE WAS, FOR BUSH--then the question becomes, not--can we endure four more years of Bush-clone policies--but rather, can we endure four more years OF ROVE?

And if McCain does get in, it'll be because of Rove's dirty tricks. Kerry won the election 10 to 1--but Rove's crooked voting machines, as well as the new touch-screen WITHOUT RECEIPTS, will guarantee four more Republican years, just like we have now. At the very least.

But even Rove can't rig ALL the machines. And those that don't give receipts, SHOULD NOW BE EXCHANGED FOR THOSE WHICH DO GIVE RECEIPTS.

Nothing less than what's left of our Republic, is at stake.

As the title lyingly intimates--Karl Rove is a thing of the past. The book--and Rove's new gig in the McSame's campaign--show that, like most of Rove's statements, nothing could be further from the truth.

BARAK OBAMA CAN ONLY BE ELECTED IF DEMOCRATS TURN OUT IN SUCH NUMBERS

that the republicans cannot cheat that fast. Obama will win if his numbers legitiimately poll at 65% of the electorate at halloween. If not we get 4 more years of Bush.

George Bush has never changed. He was a cheer leader in college. He was chosen as a cheer leader because they, the neocons, needed him. He never has run the United States. John McCain won't either.
