Pins for sale at a convention for the Texas GOP read: "If Obama is President ... will we still call it The White House?"

This isn't thinly veiled racism. It is in your face racism and the fact that a licensed booth was allowed to sell such a racist attack on the presumptive Democratic nominee for President of the United States at the Texas Republican Convention is an absolute embarrassment.

Unfortunately it is probably a safe bet to say that this is just the beginning in a wave of ignorant and intolerant political-attack materials that will grow in the coming months. It is absolutely essential that both parties make sure that this type of hate merchandise doesn't show up at official rallies and conventions. The world is watching, let's not allow the race for the Oval Office to be dragged down by bigotry.

Let the GOP show their true colors. So we can mock and scorn them.

Document everything.

But let the GOP show their true colors. So we can mock and scorn them, as they well deserve.

It will drive people of goodwill to vote Democratic.

Maybe the "I'm voting Republican because..." video needs a follow-up.

Pedaling is what people do on bicycles. People peddle their wares.

And is anyone really surprised at racism from the Texas GOP? This is the party that played the Willie Horton card. Reagan kicked off his campaign in a town where some civil rights activists were slain. To call it an undercurrent would be an understatement.

I Just Watched A Right-Wing Radio Host

on Verdict with Dan Abrahms tell some Democratic analyst that Michelle Obama was fair game because she not only said it was the first time she was proud, but also that America can be mean. When one of the analyst pointed out that Cindy had an affair with McCain before they married, and was on drugs when they met, and had stolen drugs from a charity to feed her habit, the radio host cried foul. He said that wasn't right to say. The Democrat said but it's true, and I don't think the Republicans want to go there attacking Michelle Obama.
