It has been 81 months since Osama bin Laden attacked the United States on Sept. 11, 2001, but only now — with just seven months left in his term, George Bush has become desperate to capture the terror overlord.

If you factor in the fact that Pres. Bill Clinton tried to kill bin Laden in August 1998, a case could be made that Bush should have started the search for bin Laden on his first day in office, which adds another nine months to the total. That’s 90 months — seven and a half years — during which bin Laden has been at large in the mountains of Pakistan.

With his polling down to a 24 percent approval rating and his legacy in a shambles, Bush is making one last “hail Mary” bid to to capture the 9/11 mastermind before he leaves office.

Traveling in Europe, Bush has now enlisted the aid of British special forces in the hunt, according to the conservative Times of London:

Defense and intelligence sources in Washington and London confirmed that a renewed hunt was on for the leader of the September 11 attacks. “If he [Bush] can say he has killed Saddam Hussein and captured Bin Laden, he can claim to have left the world a safer place,” said a US intelligence source…

The Special Boat Service (SBS) and the Special Reconnaissance Regiment have been taking part in the US-led operations to capture Bin Laden in the wild frontier region of northern Pakistan. It is the first time they have operated across the Afghan border on a regular basis.

The hunt was “completely sanctioned” by the Pakistani government, according to a UK special forces source. It involves the use of Predator and Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles fitted with Hellfire missiles that can be used to take out specific terrorist targets.

One US intelligence source compared the “growing number of clandestine reconnaissance missions” inside Pakistan with those conducted in Laos and Cambodia at the height of the Vietnam war…

Intelligence on the whereabouts of Bin Laden is sketchy, but some analysts believe he is in the Bajaur tribal zone in northwest Pakistan. He has evaded capture for nearly seven years. “Bush is swinging for the fences in the hope of scoring a home run,” said an intelligence source, using a baseball metaphor.

A Pentagon source said US forces were rolling up Al-Qaeda’s network in Pakistan in the hope of pushing Bin Laden towards the Afghan border, where the US military and bombers with guided missiles were lying in wait. “They are prepping for a major battle,” he said.

The main operations in Pakistan are being undertaken by Delta, the US army special operations unit, and the British SBS.

Special forces are being sent to capture or kill Al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters based on intelligence provided by the Special Reconnaissance Regiment and its US counterpart, the Security Coordination Detachment.

Yesterday, over 1,100 prisoners, including dozens of Talibanis, escaped from a prison in Kandahar, the former Taliban stronghold in Afghanistan. Bin Laden was living in Afghanistan under the protection of the Taliban when he planned the 9/11 attacks. The prison was attacked by 30 insurgents on motorbikes and two suicide bombers.

It’s just speculation but there would appear to be a strong likelihood the breach of the prison was timed to release the Taliban fighters so they could join the battle with U.S. and British forces on the Pakistani border.

As was noted in these pages last month, conditions are ripe for Bush to capture bin Laden in time to influence the presidential campaigns this fall. There can’t be any doubt that the White House has focus grouped the capture and found it would boost Bush’s polling, which would help his party in November.

Bin Laden is especially vulnerable now because polls in Pakistan give him just a 24 percent approval rating, making him as unpopular there as Bush is in the United States. Being unpopular in his host country leaves him open to betrayal, especially since there is a $50 million reward for his arrest

What's up with all this capture our fomer ally talk? There is a covenant to keep ya know. Struck between Bush the Elder and bin Laden Sr. On second thought, the Neocons and Jr. ain't all that much into a whole lota covenant keeping and stuff, iz they?

Come to think of it, the U.S. Constitution used to be somewhat of a covenant once upon a time, before they siezed power back in 2000. BTW, Where is the Constitution and that Independence Declaration?

Rational points are made for an Oh my gawd, emergency hail Mary type some kinda move, to hang onto this so gangsta gained power for such a criminal intent.

Who knows?

In the small window of opportunity between now and November '08 the greater question is, will the dying American Middle Class behave like people of a democracy or a dictatorship?

Historians will never be convinced that we were taken by suprise. Maybe caught up in a moment or a generation of lustful deception? Tricked to believe that we wuz in the elite bunch just 'cause we wuz watching Larry the cable guy git r dun on a Chinese made big screen TV from Wal-Mart, loaned to us on a credit card. Now that one might fly.

Seem like it was just yesterday, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was asking us "Where Do WE Go From Here, Chaos or Community?

Wellll, Sisters and Brothers, here we is.

God______????????????America?

Me thinks We The People just might not be able to pawn this one off on God.

that the FBI admits they have no hard evidence that Bin Laden was involved in 9/11?
On the FBI 10 most wanted list, they don't even mention 9/11 as being one of Bin Laden's crimes.

The Bush family has a deep-rooted relationship with the Bin Laden clan. Osama's brother, Salem, was an investor in GWB's failed oil company, Arbusto. The Bin Laden family was invested in Carlyle Group when GHWB was on the board. Bush authorized a flight to get all the Bin Ladens flown out of this country during the flight shutdown after the 9/11 attacks.

If Osama is still alive, he and Bush probably have cigars together on the White House balcony along with Bandar and brag about how they have fooled at least half of US citizens.

Here is the last paragraph of the article again:
"Bin Laden is especially vulnerable now because polls in Pakistan give him just a 24 percent approval rating, making him as unpopular there as Bush is in the United States. Being unpopular in his host country leaves him open to betrayal, especially since there is a $50 million reward for his arrest"

Hmmmm. Maybe someone (who, I don't care) should put up a bounty for PRESIDENT BUSH'S arrest!

Yes, this could get interesting.

Of course he will say he's going to try to capture Bin Laden now that it looks like the Dems will win the election! Anything to try to sway and frighten the voters before November, hoping they will vote for the Republics instead. If that isn't grasping at straws...

This fits in perfectly with what Scott McClellan said in his book about Bush worrying about being remembered in history for being a "remarkable" president. What better way to "pad his resume" than to (finally) capture the most wanted man in the world? A fine feather in his cap, eh?

But does Bush not remember the taped interview in which he said capturing Bin Laden "really wasn't that important," and that Bush wasn't going to worry about or focus on "just one guy" when it came to the GWOT. What balls!

If there isn't a "test" to try to weed out and prevent another megalomaniacal president, we better come up with one fast. We can't get rid of this one fast enough, and we sure can't afford another one like him.

But wasn't the point of the whole invasion of Afghanistan to capture Bin Laden? That was even a declared war. If Bush has some tactic that will work, why hasn't he tried it before?

Bleah!

Nice Photo - But Benazir Bhutto Casually Mentioned To Frost That Bin Laden Had Been Murdered

At around 06:00 in this video - as if it was already common knowledge throughout the World

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIO8B6fpFSQ

linked video

This was recorded a short time before she herself was murdered. If anyone knew the truth about Bin Laden - and who was also prepared to speak it - it was Benazir Bhutto - an incredibly courageous woman - who lost her life because of her courage.

Some speculated that the real reason she was murdered was because she had let the "cat out of the bag"

But once the cat is out of the bag - you can't stuff it back....

Well I suppose you can try

But this report is a load of nonsense

Of course Bush may well try and find a Bushladen look alike to put on trial in October just before the US Presidential election

Maybe he should look in the mirror

Please can you take him back as soon as possible

"ITALIAN SAYS 9-11 SOLVED

It’s common knowledge, he reveals, CIA, Mossad behind terror attacks

rss202

By the Staff of American Free Press

Former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio, has told Italy’s oldest and most widely read newspaper that the 9-11 terrorist attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad, and that this was common knowledge among global intelligence agencies. In what translates awkwardly into English, Cossiga told the newspaper Corriere della Sera:

“All the [intelligence services] of America and Europe…know well that the disastrous attack has been planned and realized from the Mossad, with the aid of the Zionist world in order to put under accusation the Arabic countries and in order to induce the western powers to take part … in Iraq [and] Afghanistan.”

Cossiga was elected president of the Italian Senate in July 1983 before winning a landslide election to become president of the country in 1985, and he remained until 1992.

Cossiga’s tendency to be outspoken upset the Italian political establishment, and he was forced to resign after revealing the existence of, and his part in setting up, Operation Gladio. This was a rogue intelligence network under NATO auspices that carried out bombings across Europe in the 1960s, 1970s and ’80s. Gladio’s specialty was to carry out what they termed “false flag” operations—terror attacks that were blamed on their domestic and geopolitical opposition.

In March 2001, Gladio agent Vincenzo Vinciguerra stated, in sworn testimony, “You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple: to force … the public to turn to the state to ask for greater security.”

911 Investigation

Start reading here:

architects and engineers for truth:

http://www.ae911truth.org/

(govt website...NIST is still working on an explanation for WTC 7):

http://wtc.nist.gov/

NIST WTC-7 status update (2007):

http://www.nist.gov/public_affairs/releases/wtc_062907.html

If the explanation for WTC-7 on this site is true:

http://debunking911.com/pull.htm

then why is NIST still unable to publish a report?

Also this piece of the non-final NIST report offers something completely different from the scenario on the "debunker" site I list above:

"An initial local failure occurred at the lower floors (below floor 13) of the building due to fire and/or debris induced structural damage of a critical column (the initiating event) which supported a large span floor bay with an area of about 2,000 square feet;

Vertical progression of the initial local failure occurred up to the east penthouse, as the large floor bays were unable to redistribute the loads, bringing down the interior structure below the east penthouse; and

Horizontal progression of the failure across the lower floors (in the region of floors 5 and 7, that were much thicker than the rest of the floors), triggered by damage due to the vertical failure, resulting in a disproportionate collapse of the entire structure."

For me "9/11 Truth" means that- TRUTH, however that truth washes out in the end, we all deserve to know the TRUTH. And part of that truth IS (regardless of conspiracy or not) that the Bush administration fought an honest investigation of what really happened that day with all of the energy that an executive branch can unleash. And now, based on what ended up transpiring during Bush's term in office, we have absolutely NO reason to give anyone in government ANY benefit of doubt. We now KNOW what kind of men are running this government, and therefore we need a full accounting of 9/11 even more than we did before. After all, we wouldn't want Bush tried at The Hague for war crimes with trumped up charges and tainted evidence now would we? That would be unfair. I think he certainly deserves a fair trial.

"capture the 9/11 mastermind before he leaves office."

"Defense and intelligence sources in Washington and London confirmed that a renewed hunt was on for the leader of the September 11 attacks"

Blogger Ponder and the "conservative Times of London" both recycle baseless propaganda. CIA asset Bin Laden was no more the "mastermind" or "leader" of "September 11 attacks" than say, Anna Nicole. Why mention Anna Nicole? Possibly the only thing the two have in common is they've both been dead for some time as admitted to by Pakistan’s Benazir Bhutto and Musharraf.

Moreover, Bin Laden nor Anglo-American created "Al Qaeda" has ever been charged by anyone (outside a cooked and corrupt media establishment) for the events of a criminal and ongoing 9/11 coverup.

For Alternet to uncritically resell this kind of toxic nonsense speaks volumes.
