If there is a President Obama come next Jan. 20, normal folks better brace for what the right-wing crazies have in mind. Because it's becoming clear that they are winding themselves up now for a fresh spate of violence if Obama wins.

You can find the signs in the things they're saying now, both on Internet forums and in the things they say when they think no one is listening. For instance, read some of the details emerging from that militia bust in Pennsylvania that the media have been studiously ignoring. To wit:

Bradley T. Kahle, 60, of Troutville, was one of five people arrested in last weekend's sweep. He told undercover agents he hoped Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton or Barack Obama would be killed if they were elected president, and that he would shoot judicial and law enforcement officials if he became terminally ill, according to an affidavit of probable cause made public Tuesday.
"Kahle said words to the effect of, that 'if Hillary Clinton, or Barack Obama, get elected, hopefully they will get assassinated, if not they will disarm the country and we will have a civil war,'" the affidavit stated.
The same man also told authorities he planned to visit Pittsburgh so he could get on top of a high rise and start shooting black people. And of course, the judge let him go on bail. Would I be crazy to suspect that if he were a Muslim talking about shooting white people from a high rise and hoping John McCain would get killed, no judge on earth would let him go?

In any event, a pattern is already developing, ranging from the Klan fellows who promise that Obama will be shot to the white supremacists who are actually rooting for him to win because they're certain he will fail. We're hearing a lot of language from the racist and "Patriot" right indicating that they expect a Democratic president to enact policies (particularly regarding gun control) that will inspire "civil war." Which means they are looking for excuses to act out.

As always with these folks, there's a lot of projection going on here. Because even if a President Obama follows only the most moderate of liberal agendas, the far right will look upon those policies as cause for "civil war." That was how they responded to Bill Clinton, after all -- a white male Southerner with generally conservative leanings. One can only imagine how a liberal black man from Illinois would fare.

The extremist right went into remission, largely, with the election of George W. Bush; militias disbanded because their followers believed the threat of an oppressive, gun-grabbing, baby-killing "New World Order" had largely passed. They bided their time by forming Minutemen brigades. Now they can see that their "safe" era is coming to an end.

All this time, there really has been hankering for an excuse to start acting out violently, and they see any Democratic presidency as providing that excuse. But an Obama presidency in particular will do so.

All of which makes rather ironic the fears expressed by the fellow who propped up that phony "Hillary Clinton Supporters For John McCain" page:

What good is a great economy if you have to worry about getting blown up by a car bomb every time you go to the Mall? You want another Baghdad here in the USA, not me! I want my grandkids to be free and that includes being free from the fear of being killed by a terrorist. If Obama is elected, you better hope he adopts Hillary Health Care plan, because you are going to need it with his idea of "Security" for this country.
Well, there is indeed a potential threat looming after this election in which terrorists will make ordinary people feel unsafe about going to places like malls -- just like they did in the 1990s.

But they won't be Arabs coming from Baghdad. They'll be little Timmy McVeighs from Buffalo.

Then again, to the folks on the right, that doesn't seem to be a problem. To the rest of us, well, we had better be prepared. I think we'll all find that the "law enforcement approach to terrorism" is a lot more effective than those same right-wingers have been telling us the past few years.

Digg!

No, I don't think so. But it is crazy that the judges who can make such conflicting decisions were ever appointed to office. And that's another thing I want to talk to you about...

.... I didn't catch what they did to harm Obama? But it doesn't matter, just arrest them, rendition them, torture them, put them in camps and summarily execute them and then I won't be afraid like I am now because of this article.

My gosh, this is horrible, how many of these people are there???? What kind of top of the line weapons do they have???? Do they have lasers? How about electromagnetic weapons that the US military has. Lets call out the military and occupy our land to protect us from these guys. I am very afraid now and I am hating these guys. That is good, right???

I mean fear and hate leave no room for reason and thoughtful analysis of the so called threat. Right? Have they sent messages threatening Obama? Is there more than that one guy you quoted??? Lets have everyone scanned, DNA collected, fingerprint registry......... OH THATS RIGHT, OBAMA JUST INTRODUCED HIS FIRST PIECE OF LEGSILATION AS A SENATOR TO FORM A NATIONAL REGISTRY FOR FINGER PRINTS THAT CAN BE SPREAD OUT FOR ALL CITIZENS (currently its just for a national group in one occupation, but we can expand that right??? especially with this threat now hanging over us.

Gosh, another enemy, another threat, more to fear and hate.... it is keeping us divided..... well, I say arrest all right wingers and hang them.

From Canada: This scenario does not surprise me though it takes me unawares, just enough to say, having seen the border with the U.S. virtualy made impassable for most purposes, (too much bother, getting the expensive passport and for many standing in a queue for 3 hours and up) , and there are no great bargains south of the border now anyhow, which used to be the big draw). Having lived to see the "hospitality" industry take this loss of livelihood with hardly a murmur, and they were the big mouths before, I would not say it would be a surprise for a U.S. such as you envision to be closed off even more. Visas could be required, a nice journey to San Francisco or Chicago before even planning the trip? You think we want crazies wandering our streets? I see loads of them off the "Cruise to Alaska" ships every other week, when I am down there at the quai: they all look moonstruck, from fear of the foreigners, inability to take in so much beauty and the comments about our clean steets and curbs, or just feeling as is true that they are not loved or wanted. They are mostly identifiable anyhow, but really, wearing a safari suit for a cruise to Alaska, are you really crazy?

The Southern Poverty Law Center is the ONLY group in the US that tracks hate-groups and tells the public what they're up to. This is not a surprise.

To find out more about how these hate groups are infiltrating the military, volunteering to go to Iraq and Afghanistan specifically for sniper training, hand-to-hand combat training, and weapons training, not to mention tactical and strategic training read this.

Here's more

Another article of interest

People better wake up. These wackos are serious and have been doing their homework... at taxpayer's expense, mind you. Anyone not paying attention, and especially those of you who don't believe these stories, are foolish.

We need to know what these crazies are up to. I suggest you bookmark the Southern Poverty Law Center's website and keep up with this information.

It's chilling.

Easy Solution... for PART of the Problem

Democrats just need to adopt a line in the sand approach to gun rights. There can be reasonable regulation, possibly including permitting, safety and proficiency testing, etc... but the D's need to abandon the idea... or even the faintest hint of the idea... that gun ownership should be prohibited.

Allow people to own their guns, and make them responsible for what happens with them - and most of that is pretty much in place already, isn't it? - and that should do.

These nutjobs... excuse me... this nutjob... you're quoting is simply expressing the common perception that someone will ultimately try to take away his guns. From a historical perspective, the statistics pretty much support his suspicion. It's happened too many times in too many places to count, leaving populations unable to defend themselves from oppressive governments.

Just back off... allow their paranoia to subside.

And focus on the other stuff that makes these nutjobs dangerous, like the degree to which they hate women, black people, Mexicans, Asians... everybody that is not them.

Put money into education.

This is an important issue of which the public is not aware, and I don't believe our current law enforcement agencies or the DoJ can be relied upon to effectively control these extremists. A lot of people will dismiss this warning because they don't think it's possible for them to cause any widespread violence. Tim McVeigh and company caused a huge tragedy in Oklahoma City all by themselves. An organized movement wouldn't have to be very big to cause chaos.

People need to know that our military and law enforcement agencies have been infiltrated by many of these white supremcists, and they need to start asking themselves if they want all the Blackwater war criminals for hire coming back to the United States after Iraq. Remember that they were active in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina if you doubt they'd ever be turned loose on US citizens - they already were. Do we really want a private army, answerable to no one, based within our borders?

My question is, with the recent "noose" incident in the Secret Service offices, can the Secret Service be trusted to protect candidate or President Obama? For the first time since I was a baby, this country has a real chance to realize the dream of equality that Thomas Jefferson had for all Americans but was unable to achieve in the political atmosphere or his own times. I'm praying it comes to pass. I want America to be number one again, with quality universal health care that's second to none in the world, with a spirit of openness and innovation, and serious work to achieve social justice for all of us, not just the moneyed few.

An Obama presidency won't solve all of our problems, but it would be a huge step in the right direction. If nothing else, it would create a sense that change is possible, and that's a lot better than the slide toward fascism that has been the hallmak of the Bush Administration. We need this. I'm just praying our law enforcement agencies can be relied upon to help it happen.

y'all,
i don't think those armed wingnuts have their shit together enough to pull off an assassination.

mayhem like OK City is different. they might could pull that off.

really, these are the folks who shoot each other by accident during their initation rites and get infiltrated by the FBI/ATF/JTTF every time they have a public rally in some small town. they are not that bright.

so i wouldn't worry about them killin' off yer little liberal golden boy. Especially since he will be playing ball with the Pentagon and all the associated elements of the National Security State/Military Industrial Complex. They will keep him safe.

the same can not be said for blacks, muslims, gays, mexicans and other groups that the Loony Legions of Idiocy are scared of.

You and your ilk helping oprabamanation drive the racism train -- I hope you're happy with the bed you're making.

YOU made this about race.

All of it is just feeding in to the government's hope to divide and conquer by igniting hate.

But, thanks to oprah and obama and folks like you (plenty of white folks in on it and profiting, make no mistake) we may actually get to have apartheid right here in America.

This article is slanted and sickening.

They are going to try something to get rid of Obama before this election is over with. Trust me: This Blackwater bunch is heavily infiltrated with these hatemongers and they will stop at nothing.

Also, we can surely expect BushCo. to look the other way or suppress any information they have about these groups.

Research shows Northern Illinois University could not prevent this crime!

Preventing Crime Is everyone's responsibility

I guess it's human for people today to be in a make believe world of their own, safe and secure, families living happy, healthy and successful. Nothing wrong with a happy family life, we all want such. True reality of life after September 11th is too much to fathom for Americans over three hundred million populace. We look at our little individual worlds as a safe haven far from crime and terrorist attacks!

Until someone in our family circle is a victim of crime! Then the world of reality strikes hard, with no natural affection, love, kindness, goodness present and panic set's in! Security and safety is gone suddenly, just like a raging storm! Like a tornado with no wall, tower, thing or person to stop it's powerful surge smashing your make believe world to pieces!

The police made their report, after they arrived, responding to a security department's call for help. They investigate and take statements from witnesses (If there was any), then make their report. They tell the victim/s that they will do what they can to find the criminal/s involved. That's all they can do. And they are doing their jobs well. No shame should fall on our Criminal Justice system's Vanguard, the police. They are a re-active crime control agency.

If the crime was at a Shopping mall, Hospital, University or office complex, chances are, the corporate owners are afraid the liability risk is much to high to give their security departments the right tools they need to prevent such crimes against your family. They implement a strict policy of hands off, when it comes to preventing crime! They are told to call the police if there is something that may cause an interruption in the peace and public safety. The owners even go as far as telling store keepers in the shopping malls to call the police directly, and do not call security, for they are wasting time going through the security thinking that the malls security can prevent a crime!

However! This entity (Security) is the only entity that has the before, during, and after the fact premise to be successful in preventing crime and terrorist attacks. The police are usually at a scene after the fact! Please, we are not saying the police are not needed! For they must be in place working with security to complete the circle of preponderate to fight crime!

So what happens when these sequence of scenes take place at this present time in American history? we then have in the end result, many frustrated people! The victim/s, their families, the security, the police, the owners, the politicians, and the public! For the crime was not prevented! And then everyone looks at the police and security, and say, where were you guys?

Does the Homeland Security department encourage the owners of these complexes, Shopping malls, Hospitals, Universities/Colleges and office complexes to give their security people the tools to prevent crime instead of just responding to these problems? Do they encourage law makers to change the laws to help private and governmental security people to Prevent Crime instead of acting like police, and just respond to a crime in progress? The five students killed when a gunman opened fire in a lecture hall at Northern Illinois University Thursday ( 2-14-08) in the afternoon were at college to begin building their dreams. And please don't forget those Virginia State Tech. students had their dreams shattered to.

I believe this problem will continue......

Continued from last comment........ until the American People realize that crime prevention must have the Before factor to work! Security must be looked at in totally unique way, and must be developed to prevent these issues. Security must have the rights and duty to investigate before hand all connected to the Universities and other schools. Security must be able to detect before hand, these troubled people and be able to stop such bloodshed ! Security must not be an operation that mainly shows a reactive response. Security must have the high tech systems in place to detect issues that relate to prevention!

In essence, we as American citizens continue to ignore facts. Facts that will hit you right in the face, at any moment! You want more crime prevention? Then supply the before factor that will ultimately prevent your family from being the next victims in universities/colleges, hospitals, Shopping Malls and other complexes.

My research that started in 1968, shows that our communities could benefit greatly if large complexes would take the responsibility of preventing their own inevitable crime and terrorist attacks! Folks our front lines are not secure!

We have space age technology today that would boggle the minds of all Americans! This 21fst century technology is barely used in America, but, if it was, security would use it to prevent crime! You'd be surprised how much of this technology isn't being used in shopping malls, hospitals, universities/colleges and other complexes. It would put you in panic mode, and I could prove it! I am very concerned when my family visits these complexes knowing what I do about their security as it is now. Security at present time will not prevent crime! They can not! Security in most places act and operate as police departments with no authority. The technology they have in most places is not helping them to prevent! They really have no detective departments investigating complaints and researching problem issues. Social workers are not working closely with security to prevent what happen at those schools.

In hospitals, there are so many crimes covered up that if you knew you'd also be concerned as I am. Look what happen at Virginia Tech., and Northern Illinois something I say should never happen, especially when it is proven that it could have truly been prevented, after everyone made their investigations. Everyone seems to say, "Well we should have done this, or that!". Yes! I say yes, we should! Investigations seem to only be after the fact! Why? Why not do the investigations Before the fact!

I know it is human to live in your family make believe worlds, the safe haven we all need just to keep from becoming depressed over the September 11th reality of things. But, when it comes to preventing crime and terrorist attacks at the frontline level, somebody needs to do something, and soon!

I know that there are many other security people and police out in America that sees what I see. Please! Pass this article on to everyone you can, and maybe, just maybe, we could prevent a family from experiencing crime!

Preventing crime and terrorist attacks is the responsibility of all Americans! Especially the corporations that own these big complexes that draw large crowds! Terrorist attacks will be centered on these areas! And some entity needs to prevent crime! Not just respond to it!

I pray that the media grabs my article and runs with it so things change in security for America, before you, and your family experience crime! My family is dear to me to, and if any of my family members experience crime, knowing what I know about crime prevention, it would cut my heart deep! It's like a medical doctor who can't save his family member at a crime scene because his hands are forced tied!

Continued from last comment...... Everybody worries about the liability risk of any operation. The Cities worry about their police putting them in a high liability risk when acting in a physical way. Shopping Malls and other complexes worry about their security acting in such a way that it would put them in a high liability risk and that's why they play it safe insisting that security have a hands off policy! But, what they don't understand is, that you could be putting yourself in a higher liability risk for not putting hands on! For a crime could be committed before the police get there, after security calls the police! As time ticks onward I foresee lawyers winning cases against these complexes for not having security that would prevent crime against your family while shopping in their mall or place of business. My heart goes out to all the families who have lost love ones in crime! I just wish people would hear what I have to say about stopping crime at Universities! Every time I hear about crime at another school it makes me upset! Security must, yes, must prevent crime, it's their responsibility, so give them the things they need to do it.

I wrote a book published July 2005, and the American Book Publishing Company of UTAH took it out of print for lack of sale. Yes. Nobody knows what my research (since 1968) and investigation on crime prevention and public safety and security is, and therefore missing out on the many years of hard work.
