Two weeks ago, controversial Pastor John Hagee reiterated his prior belief that Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans because it was "planning a sinful," "homosexual rally." Asked about the comments, McCain - who sought Hagee's endorsement for more than a year - was forced to distance himself, calling them "nonsense" nine times.

After McCain was put on the spot over Hagee, the ultra-conservative pastor put out a statement seemingly retracting his comments on the cause of Hurricane Katrina:

“As a believing Christian, I see the hand of God in everything that happens here on earth, both the blessings and the curses,” Hagee said in a statement issued through his public relations firm. “But ultimately neither I nor any other person can know the mind of God concerning Hurricane Katrina. I should not have suggested otherwise. No matter what the cause of the storm, my heart goes out to all who suffered in this terrible tragedy. There but for the grace of God go any one of us.

But in a conference call yesterday, Hagee appeared to renege on his retraction, reportedly saying "God controls hurricane" and "God always punishes unconfessed sin.":

When a woman on the call asked why he seemed to have backed away from his Katrina comments in face of criticism, Hagee said he hadn't. As for the Katrina, he said, God controls hurricanes and "God always punishes unconfessed sin." You do the math.

Though McCain has distanced himself from some of Hagee's comments, he has yet to reject the pastor’s support. He now says it was a political "mistake" to seek Hagee's endorsement, though he is still "glad to have" it.

Christian Zionism: The whole idea is to align America with the nation of Israel so as to "hurry God up" in his efforts to bring about Armageddon".And they(Joe Liebermann, Bush, McCain, Hagee) just might get it the way things are going.

For all the red herrring bashing of Rev Wright- who did nothing more than state some rather unfavorable facts about how gov't ahs been Run for the last 40 yrs, Media has remained suspeciously silent about the likes of Hagee and the other 'End of Days' Proponents and their Political affliations. This Terrifies Me!
Rev Wright merely pointed out (for those of US who actually question medias coverage/spin and Watch the full sermons, speeches and interviews) that the policies of our Gov't and the Business practices of the Incs who fly our flag the main cause of the attacks of 9/11. Anyone who remebers the '70s- oil hoarding, Hostage crisis and Highjackings- knew the minute the Towers (World Trade Ctr-$$)were hit, Who and what the Targets were. The Pentagon the seat of military might, and the intended target of the WH, forgien Policy. We knew and Screamed in the '70's to get out of the region and stop doing business with the oppresive Regimes of those Cast systems. WE were Ignored. It was THEIR 'chickens' who came 'home' to roost. We were merely the camoflgue, the human shields in front of their organized crime syndicate.
And Reagan may not have 'invented' AIDS but his adminstration caused it to reach epidemic Proprations- here and around the world.Ignored it when it was GRID, failed to fund research, Treatment and prevention. FACT!
Now the ever elusive Hagee doctrine presents another issue entirely . In his push to override his own 'god' and ignite 'Armegeddon' which will lead to 'End of Days' and his Delusion of the 'Rapture' he has been eliciting the help of very powerful people in Gov't and convincing them to attack a country that also does not possess WMD's (or any real capablity)regardless of real Intel info or Public opinion. He see the first step towards this Goal the Pre-emptive strike of Iran, which will provke the Muslim world and their allies the Russians and Chinese to retailate.thus the battle between God & Evil as he sees the Book of Revelations to be referring to (Historical coded indictment and hoep against Nero & his predecessor of the Roman Empire- who oppresed & killed the Christeians & Jews). His fiends in High places have already begun their false Set up rhetoric and actions in the Region. And have two 'candidates' to help see it come to fruition- "Bomb Bomb bomb Iran' and 'Totally obliterate Iran' with nukes.
This is the Religous man/ followers who should be on every channel, every topic of discussion, every news cycle, kicked out of public service and on the Terrorist Watch list- The are a Clear and Present danger to Our national and international Security!

If God "punished" New Orleans for a homosexual parade, then what does the Big One have in store for the entire US because Bush was elected by our enlightened citizens?
9-11 is only the punishment for the 2000 election. We are still waiting for the punishment for Bush's reelection. Let's see, if McCain is elected (or "elected"), then watch out for the US to be hit BIG TIME in some way. God is The Punisher, you know, since God is so "good" and all. Seems to me that God is like an abusive parent/spouse. YOU BETTER NOT MAKE HIM MAD,... OR ELSE!

What about Greensburg, Kansas?

So what made God mad at Greensburg, Kansas, the mostly white and straight town that was virtually annihilated by a tornado last year? I haven't heard Hagee et al address that question.

For them the earth is still flat. Get thousands of of "Believers" into an arena and collect big bucks. If they really were what they claim to be, they would realize that, if there were to be another Christ, he would throw them out of the temple.

Haggee is batshit crazy, and needs to be neutralized, his assets seized, and his glassy-eyed followers scattered to the four winds so they can perish wandering the streets. We need thinking people in this moment of crisis, not zombie blood-cult "Christians" acting like villagers with pitchforks in a Frankenstein movie. Haggee is evil...pathologically so, and needs to be treated like an outbreak of Bubonic Plague.

I'd pay good money to see a face-off between Wright and Hagee.
I suspect that ex-Marine Wright would wipe the floor with the fat crypto-fascist...
