McCain's Temper Should Be A Liability

The mainstream media starts to reluctantly pay attention.

The WaPo is the latest media outlet to notice (or drag themselves reluctantly to finally cover) what McCain watchers have been saying about him forever: He's a full-tilt asshole got a temperament problem. It's the usual litany of ugly behavior, going back to when he was a kid, although it's worth a read just to get a feel for how reprehensibly vindictive McCain is, in addition to having a hair-trigger temper.

Just one quick comment: I thought it was pretty amusing that not once but twice, recounted incidents of McCain's altercations with fellow Republicans ended with the pathetically low benchmark at least he didn't punch anyone.

It is unclear precisely what issue set off McCain that day. But at some point, he mocked Grassley to his face and used a profanity to describe him. Grassley stood and, according to two participants at the meeting, told McCain, "I don't have to take this. I think you should apologize."

McCain refused and stood to face Grassley. "There was some shouting and shoving between them, but no punches," recalls a spectator, who said that Nebraska Democrat Bob Kerrey helped break up the altercation.

...Reports recently surfaced of Rep. Rick Renzi, an Arizona Republican, taking offense when McCain called him "boy" once too often during a 2006 meeting, a story that McCain aides confirm while playing down its importance. "Renzi flared and he was prickly," McCain strategist Mark Salter said. "But there were no punches thrown or anything."
As I've said before, are a lot of scary things about the possibility of a President McCain, but the fact that he could make Bush look like a model statesman has to be right at the tippy-top of the list. I cannot even begin to convey what a terrible idea a McCain presidency would be for this reason alone, not to mention all the others. If you think Bush was an embarrassment as a paradigm of diplomacy, McCain could conceivably be even worse.

Shudder.

5 years in a hole , a drug addicted wife
two arms that function like chicken wings
anger is not his problem its the agony of having
to carry all this baggage the rest of his life . so why
should we as Americans have to wait for this man
to self destruct in the White House . instead of
singing beach boys songs about Iran he should
be changing his tune to incontinence we depends .

There should be high standards for candidates

You know, congress and Bush pushed for no child left behind - standardized testing. How about leave no liberty behind. It's important to have high standards when you are filling such a significant roll. Come to think of it, any Joe who wants a roll in security-related positions has to pass a personality profile and psychology review. The President should know the names of the world leaders and their respective countries geography. They should also fully understand our relationships with those countries and have ideas on how to better dialog with them.

Lets face it, we need a president that puts foreign policy above all else. With sensible and honest foreign policy, our security is ensured through our freedom. It doesn't work the other way around as proven by the leadership of the past 20 years. Our liberty is attacked under the guise of security and they beat on the fear drum harder at every iteration. McCain will further hinder any good relationships we could have had with foreign countries. McCain's camp is continuing the fear tradition. We cannot allow him into the white house - period.

LOOKING FOR A CANDIDATE

Early on the Repubs couldn't find one. They were in search of someone to "throw in front of the bus". Why waste a real candidate. A win seemed implossible. So they dragged out McCain. I felt sorry for him at first. Then I realized that the Repubs line up and do what they're told. McCain scares me for many reason, but then so did Bush and he won. The Dems have to stop bashing their own people. It's a sure way to lose. Gore should have been our president. Thanks, ANNA

But he probably won't creep out Merkel with an inappropriate massage like Bush did!

told the women of The View that her husband doesn't have an "anger problem" or a "bad temper" and that it was ridiculous to say he does! And who better to know than wifey?

(Except for that time he called her the "c" word in front of three reporters!)
