Sandy Rios, the anti-gay divorcée who was too crazy for, and fired from, Concerned Women for America, is over at Clown Hall today once again demonstrating that she has more hair than brains. Lots more hair.

“We will rid the church of pedophile priests,” said Pope Benedict on his flight to America. That’s good news except for one thing: the root problem among the priests was homosexuality, not pedophilia. Pedophilia is the attraction by adults to children, both boys and girls and the priest scandals have been, with few exceptions, man to boy.

Okay, we can either laugh, cry, slam down three martinis, resort to Venn Diagrams, or do all those things. Excuse me while I do the first three. I’ll be back in a moment with the Venn Diagrams.

. . . . . . . .

Okay, back.

Now although the intersection between teh gay and teh pedophiles should be smaller than the one between teh straight and teh pedophiles, this diagram is an otherwise accurate representation. Sandy has somehow gotten it lodged in her “hair brain” that because pedophiles as a class are attracted to boys and girls, then a group that is attracted only to boys can’t be pedophiles. Sadly, as we say here, no.

And things go downhill from their because Sandy somehow thinks that all gay men want to have sex with little boys and she has the evidence to prove it:

Man/Boy “Love” has been a staple in homosexual practice since the time of the ancient Greeks, famous for taking young boys as students and bonding with them sexually.

Gay men, of course, are still completely influenced by ancient Greek culture which is why so many of them prance around in linen tunics, keep slaves and consult the Oracle of Delphi before making important decisions.

Modern gay magazines have regularly advertised for “Chickens,” defined by Bruce Rogers in “Gay-Talk: A Dictionary of Gay Slang” as “any boy under the age of consent … heterosexual … fair of face and unfamiliar with homosexuality.”

Where is she getting this shit? I mean, I have perused my fair share of “modern gay magazines” — probably hundreds of “modern gay magazines” if you count Gourmet and The New Yorker too — and I haven’t seen them “advertising for chickens,” whatever that means. (Maybe it means “Wanted: chicken to assist in subscription sales department” or perhaps it’s a reference to advertisements for the Backstreet Boys?)

It is a disservice to shift the focus of the Catholic Church disgrace to pedophilia in order to soft pedal the larger danger of homosexual behavior to an ever-increasingly, gay-sympathetic public. Denying the correlation of homosexuality and priest-abusers of young boys further enforces the persuasive myth of activists that it is “just another lifestyle.”

It’s a disservice to whom exactly? Pedophiles? And am I gonna have to drag out some more Venn diagrams? Although every priest who abuses boys is gay, not every gay priest abuses boys And although every abuser is a pedophile, not all abusers are homosexual. It’s estimated that 20 percent of the victims of abuse by priests were females, and the last I checked the Catholic Church hasn’t started ordaining lesbians.

I guess I’ll just have to draw another picture for Sandy:

Which reminds me of another Venn diagram:

Or, to paraphrase John Stuart Mill — “All Republicans aren’t stupid, but all stupid people are Republicans.”

I type "teh" about half the time when I'm trying to type "the", but I usually catch them. Is there some other meaning here?

Then... "And things go downhill from their"

*there*

This morning I heard Bill Press opine that the solution is to allow priests to marry. He believes if they have "normal" sexual outlets, they won't go after children. Isn't that one rationale used by rapists, as well?
Thanks for trying to educate people about pedophilia.

than it is to speak and remove all doubt.

Apparently, Sandy Rios never heard that one.

So, let me get this straight (pun intended). According to Sandy, that 20% of female victims is not a problem. That's totally okay. If only those priests would start molesting girls instead of boys, then Jesus could return to cast all the unbelievers into the lake of fire... presumably.

How this works, vis a vis, the Roman Catholic Church

I have known many non-heterosexual ex-clergy in my day. In the old days (before being queer was an option), the church was the place to go if you weren't interested in the "classic" child bearing relationship. Families would ship off the "not normal children" to the seminary & convent in order to get rid of them or give them a life.

The first thing this does is to stop ones emotional development at the age these people were shipped off. I've seen many nuns and priests stuck in adolescence; I'm not saying they all become pedophiles, but, given the physiological trauma, it's no surprise that some become them. And what about the victims of abuse as children in the Church that became abusers as clergy?

The Church is full of all kinds of tawdry stories, from the many children raped by clergy to infanticide. They were the dirty secrets until revealed by many brave victims.

What always gets me about the doctrine of celebrity is the reason it even exists. The Church, way back when, did not want the papacy to be passed down to children of the Pope (look it up, I ain't being no anti-Catholic here). This was convoluted with the idea that Jesus was chaste, and the whole doctrine of celebrity developed.

Now, while it is true that some people are asexual, many of those who are in the clergy likely are not. That the RCC denies these facts contributes to many more problems then the current scandal.

It's losing all those queer clergy and doesn't have anyone to replace them. Its' position on LGBT issues shows this. The church position on abortion is in sync with the white supremacists, and for the same reasons. The current Pope has spoken much on the issues above (much of this when he was still Cardinal Ratzinger). The the '40's, he was a Hitler Youth (not there's anything wrong with that).

While I'm glad he spoke to abuse victims, there is much more the Church will need to do in order to get on the path to health.

Comments from a straight guy

Yes, I'm a straight guy.
Unlike so many of these hysterical flamers of gay people, I am comfortable in my sexuality and not at all threatened by some gay guy being around me.
In fact, I have some customers who are gay and, we joke back & forth about their being gay and my being straight.
We also laugh at the ignorance and lack of self like this imbecile in the article.

To read/hear these ignorant screamers insult EVERYONE, yes, everyone and not just gay people is disgusting.
These fools are the ones who are uncomfortable in their own sexual skin.
The less we are confident about something about our own selves, the more we berate those who we percieve as threatening.

It is so transparently clear that they attempt to paint both gays and pedophiles with the same brush.
What complete nonsense.
I've discussed this with a coule of my acquaintances who are gay and, they would pretty much do to the pedos what most of us would do.

Garbage like what this piece of shit puts out does only damage and does absolutely nothing positive to alleviate any misunderstanding.

Gays and Boys

It's an old misunderstanding. Straights just don't get it - they figure that a male lover is a stand in for a female lover & so they assume that gay men would be more attracted to a girlish boy than to a man.

Tain't so. Gay men - on the average - are attracted to MEN. Beards, muscles, etc. Very few gay men are attracted to transvestites for the same reason.

OTOH, the overwhelming majority of pedophiles are heterosexual.
