Rep. Patrick McHenry

Founder, Rep. McHenry's Hostel for Strapping Young Republican Lads

Dear Rep. McHenry,

It surprises me that so few people understand just how important you are. After all, you are a Congressman. That's important. You're also the go-to-guy for strapping, young, Republican lads who need a bed for the night. That's important. You've been tied to a multiple-murder investigation involving homosexual prostitutes and organized crime figures. That's important too. So why don't people see you that way?

I know it's not your fault. You've tried very hard to publicize your importance. In just the last few weeks alone, you bragged to an audience at a Republican dinner that you had berated a security guard in Iraq. And then there's that video you put up on your website--the one in which you proved your importance my broadcasting all the secret operational military information you had.

But, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working. If anything, it's backfired. Your own local newspapers are calling for your head.

We need to turn that around. Below, you'll find my suggestions for other ways to make yourself seem important:

Ways to make Patrick McHenry seem important

* Get on Fox and announce the exact location of Dick Cheney's undisclosed location.

* Go to NYC, do the Pope, and put it on YouTube.

* Do a public demonstration on how to build a dirty bomb with easily obtainable materials.

* Call Barack Obama, "boy."

* Take 20 items to the "nine items or less" check out stand. If anyone complains, tell them you can have them "gitmo'd."

* Bitch slap Geraldo and say "I'm getting away with it, just like Fox."

* Take Sen. Lieberman's place at the podium the next time a torturer is honored.

* Stand up in the middle of a floor debate and announce that you're so respected in conservative circles, you often put your "little, but important, congressman" inside Lindsey Graham's mouth without fear of being bitten.

I hope my suggestions help.

Heterosexually yours,

Gen. JC Christian, patriot

Succinct. Smart. Biting. Humorous. Well-aimed. Certainly well-earned. About time. You could change the target, of course, and level the same message at countless others. But this is a great start. Nothing deflates faster than a pompous ass when you prick it with the right needle.

I rarely say things this nice to an overt Christian. But I make exceptions, occasionally.

Family Research Council Honors Congressman McHenry

McHenry: “Traditional family values are the bedrock of American society.”

Washington, Jan 29 - Today, the Family Research Council (FRC) and Dr. James Dobson’s Focus on the Family named Congressman Patrick McHenry (R-NC-10) a “True Blue” Member of Congress for his unwavering commitment to family values.

The True Blue award is given annually to Members of Congress who have worked hard to defend traditional family values, faith, and freedom. FRC presented Congressman McHenry the award for his perfect voting record on family values at a ceremony in the Rayburn House Office Building this morning.

“Traditional family values are the bedrock of American society,” said Congressman McHenry. “Family values, the values of Western North Carolina, are frequently under attack in Washington, and I am honored to be recognized by the Family Research Council for defending them.”

FRC based its decision on Congressman McHenry’s consistent pro-life and pro-family voting record during the first session of the 110th Congress, and took the following votes into consideration:

-- Defending Restrictions on Funding International Abortion Groups
-- Human Cloning Prohibition
-- Against Embryonic Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act
-- Against Thought Crimes Act
-- Protect Abstinence Program for HIV/AIDs Prevention
-- Prohibit Funding D.C. Needle Exchange Program
-- Against Funding D.C. Gay Marriage Amendment
-- Restrict Funding Planned Parenthood Amendment

“Congressman McHenry has been a consistent, stalwart ally of American families,” said FRC Action President Tony Perkins. “He is to be commended for supporting public policy that values human life, protects our religious liberties, and upholds the institutions of marriage and the family.”

“I applaud Congressman McHenry for defending pro-family and pro-life policies that have been under attack this past year. Values voters should be encouraged by his commitment to protecting and strengthening the family.”

Whew! Finally someone is confirming what I suspected of this little twerp. Listening to him on the floor of the House (C-Span) turns my stomach and freaks me out every time. Some of us have finely tuned psycho-radar...and he's been on my screen for a long time!

Another Republican hypocrite caught with his paints down. I am finding it hard to imagine that there is a closet big enough for a good portion of the Republicans in Congress, but maybe...

I would hasten to add, though, that it is not the fact that he is homosexual that is wrong- it is his blatant hypocrisy. And prostitutes? Trying to be the new Client 9, Senator? The fact that he got a medal for upholding "traditional family values" is nauseating-- the last thing I'd want is my kid in a prostitution den.

"Right-Wing Personality Disorder"

I too have used that very phrase to describe a group that doesn't deserve it's current status as normal and non-pathological. Prior to the internet and it's ability to publicly display all the various personality types who took advantage of the 'nets social networking capabilities, I imagine the idea of a a species-wide psychological disorder would have seemed so unlikely that they escaped being seen as a larger phenomenon. But it's all out there for anyone to to see now!

They live in an elaborate fantasy world created to escape any facts that their acceptance of would force a logical need to re-evaluate the preconceptions they have on poverty, drugs, war, socialism, patriotism, religion....basically any matter requiring more than a black & white interpretation to truly understand. Why? That would entail using areas of the brain they appear very limited or even incapable of performing. Instead they rely on "gut" feelings whose source is our lower, more primitive areas of the brain that are screened by those of us who use our modern brain to filter out the more ridiculous "fight or flight" impulses that would otherwise still respond to violence or sex on a TV screen as though it were real.

As such you get a personality that is more militant and paranoid due the social or empathic centers placement in "higher" regions of the brain. Inability to access these areas leaves them shallow and unimaginative, knowing only force, fear and obedience as methods of social interaction.
