Cleveland, Ohio's corporate media has passionately opposed the progressive populist efforts of Dennis Kucinich for decades. This week marks the climax of its most ferocious crusade to remove him from Congress.

Unable to be confident of motivating enough Democrats to vote against Kucinich in Tuesday's primary, Clear Channel right wing radio station WTAM (these guys http://www.wtam.com/pages/personalities/#newsstaff ) is openly encouraging Republicans to participate in the Democratic primary and vote against Kucinich.

My advice to such infiltrators is to take care or they may get stuck with a Republican nominee who believes the world is more than 6,000 years old. Don't risk it, folks. Vote for Huckabee!

Of course, leading the charge against Kucinich is the Cleveland Pain Dealer. Oops, I mean Plain Dealer. Having savaged Kucinich for years in reports and editorial for, among other things, failing to raise more money, the Pain Dealer attacks him in its latest anti-Kucinich editorial (the third in the past week) for having raised too much money: http://tinyurl.com/yv46uv

Here's the headline: "Editorial: Kucinich's far-flung fans fatten his finances"

Here's the text:

"Dennis Kucinich can't plead poverty anymore. Since posting an Internet video warning that 'corporate interests are converging on Cleveland to knock me out of Congress,' Kucinich has raised $700,000 to defend his hold on the underrepresented people of the 10th District. Not surprisingly, most of his biggest donors live in other people's districts. Other people's states, in fact. Maybe viewed from Newton, Mass., or Hanapepe, Hawaii, Kucinich looks pretty good. Maybe when you see Cleveland only during playoff games, it seems just fine. But people like spiritualist Marianne Williamson of Nipomo, Calif., really ought to try living here. Then maybe they might understand why a lot of the people who are actively investing in Northeast Ohio's future have also given money to challenger Joe Cimperman. They're not out to silence Kucinich. They just want someone in Washington willing to help push a very big rock up a very steep hill."

The Pain Dealer fails to note that Cimperman himself doesn't live in the district he is seeking to represent, and says nothing about the corporate sources of his massive funding. But Kucinich has for six terms represented the people of his district and city and state better than just about any other group of constituents is represented in Washington. And he has done something else that every member of Congress is supposed to do: he has represented the people of the United States of America.

This past Tuesday morning, in the rain, in front of the U.S. Capitol, Kucinich took time off from campaigning in Cleveland and from his busy schedule on the Hill to join a handful of New York Congress Members in an event that no other representative from outside New York attended. Gathered on the Capitol lawn were hundreds of 9-11 rescue workers suffering from health problems dating from that toxic day, heroes lacking affordable health care. These people risked their lives for others and suffer every day for having done so.

Every district in this nation would vote to give these people health care for life. Many in Congress cheer for them and support the occupation of foreign nations in their name. But only Dennis Kucinich showed up, spoke, encouraged, and committed to holding the city of New York accountable through committee investigations. The people of Cleveland should be proud. The people of America should be proud.

Dennis Kucinich is one of the best things that happened to politics in the last 20 years. I am going to give him money and I am from Illinois and I live in California. why? because he deserves the support. not just from constituents

If people wanted change they could count on they would have supported Kucinich.

He has more progressive democrat in him than any of the other candidates.

He was my candidate. Then Edwards

Where were the rest of you phony change progressives?

I went to his website today and made a donation. I simply can't imagine the House without him! (I don't live in his district - hell, I don't even live in Ohio!)

Help save Dennis by going to his website and contributing

But have lived elsewhere for over 20 years. I gave to both his Presidential and Congressional campaigns. When I was in college in the late '70's while he was Mayor of Cleveland, he got nothing but negative coverage, especially from the PD and local TV news. No wonder, he was the bane of some of their biggest advertisers - The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co., and the banks - who wanted the municipal electric company, and drove the city to default and pinned it on Dennis when he wouldn't cave. I believed the lies back then, but I've learned the truth since.

Dennis is the real deal. Radio talk show host Thom Hartmann used to call Bernie Sanders "America's Congressman", before he moved over to the Senate. I say that that mantle has been passed to Congressman Kucinich.

Dennis Kucinich doesn’t exist. You thought you saw him.

You thought you heard what he said. Nope. He does not exist. Mainstream media that claims to be right about everything - they're sort of Godlike you know - they say Dennis doesn’t exist, therefore it’s true. No Dennis.
You thought Dennis was about ending war, abolishing torture, helping the needy. Nope. It was all a delusion. Some say he was invited to three major political debates. Nope. He wasn’t on the tube for any of those debates. Must be an illusion.
Think you see chemtrails overhead? Nope. The media and the politicians say there is no such thing. Dennis Kucinich introduced House Bill HR2977,(6); in it chemtrails appeared on his list of “exotic weapons system(s)” to be banned under the bill. That version of the bill was killed in the House. Nope - no such thing. Unpopular bills that tell the truth don’t exist.
Torture implemented by the United States doesn’t exist. Dennis doesn’t exist.
Hope. Does Hope exist?

If Dennis Kucinich loses in Ohio, we all lose!

Dishonesty and corruption run rampant in our political system. Big money, big corporations and big bullies have taken over our government and our lives. If the most diligent work horse in the House, representing not only those from his home state, but ALL OF US, with honor, in a fight for truth, fairness, respect of the Constitution; the one who uses his power against those that abuse their power and sabotage the Constitution, if he should be run out of office, we all lose a voice of reason and respect, and a whirlwind of passion for peace. Ohio voters in the District who can - we're counting on YOU to keep Kucinich on the job!

Take A Sad Song and Make It Better

Dennis is one of the few, the proud, the wise who actually SERVE. His campaign here is relying on comments from people who live in the 10th District and have benefitted from his diligent efforts at retaining jobs, saving steel mills and hospitals and caring for veterans. When Bob Frantz from WTAM made his plea for Republican voters to cross over and vote in the Dem Primary he revealed the moral bancruptcy of his radio station and the Clear Channel Network. Fatso Mike Trivisanno regularly berates Kucinich on the air because the Congressman actually thinks, judges and acts. Unlike Ills and Snydly in the morning Triva at least is consistent in his vehement denunciations. None of these drones want to lose the fatcat salaries they suck in. Their Tax brackets might be put to the betterment of the folks who must listen to this drivel. Long Live Dennis the Menace who takes to task these parasites on the airwaves.

Dennis is a hero to many of us.........I have contributed to his campaign because he is the representative who does "represent" my views. He has been forthright, faithful to the progressive message and I voted for him and would do so again if possible. His wife, Elizabeth, is also a fine speaker and representative for the democratic message. I certainly hope that the people of Ohio realize how fortunate they are to have an honest, hardworking, intelligent man in their corner.

Our hope should never wane nor become complacent. If we have overwhelming moments of doubt we need only look to Dennis Kucinich for the voice of hope. He is what he says he is and no one comes close to rivaling his stature as a true patriot, statesman, and gentleman. In 30+ years of voting, I have given donations to a presidential candidate once, to Dennis Kucinich. It was and is, money well spent.
