Israeli Lawmaker Claims Homosexuality Causes Earthquakes

Whenever I think the homophobes here have cornered the mark on complete batsh*ttery, something out of left field comes from the international set.

Every time I think the homophobes here have cornered the mark on complete batsh*ttery, here comes something out of left field from the international set. Let's examine the wisdom of Knesset Member Shlomo Benizri.

During a special Knesset session on Israel's preparedness for the possibility of another earthquake hitting the region, the Shas member said "the Gemara refers to earthquakes as disasters, but you are searching only for the practical solutions how to prevent and repair.

"But I no of another way to prevent earthquakes; the Gemara mentions a number of causes of earthquakes, one of which is homosexuality, which the Knesset legitimizes," Benizri said.

...Mike Hammel, chairman of the Israeli Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Association commented on Benizri's remarks saying "it is sad that a religious MK in Israel doesn't think earthquakes are God-made.

"On the other hand, I suppose we should be flattered he attributes us with such magical powers," he added.

***

But back to our stateside religious hypocrites. Did anyone else notice the stunning silence a few weeks ago after series of horrific tornadoes killed innocent people and wiped homes off the face of the earth in the bible belt? The crickets were chirping in the land of Pat Robertson and the rest of the "blame the homos" crowd.

Ironically, when Katrina wreaked havoc and caused misery in New Orleans, the site of decadence and homosexualism, Dear Leader never said anything like this in public, as he did to families left homeless in Tennessee...

You know, life sometimes is, uh, you know, is unfair, and you don't get to play the hand that you wanted to play. But, the question is, when you get dealt the hand, how do you play it?

Actually, maybe that's a bad example, since Bush promised to restore the Gulf Coast and help the people down; we all know how that turned out.

But that wasn't the fault of the man upstairs.

So Only the "Homos" Have Good Sex?

If you're doing it right, you should "feel the earth move" anytime you have sex.

It's sad that the heterosexuals in Israel have allowed their sexual prowess to become so degraded that they can not cause earthquakes.

your information, the percentage of homosexuals is from 3 to 10 percent of the population. I find it hard to believe that a kind and benevolent god would punish 90% of the population for the supposed sins of 10%. That is kind of like blowing up your house to get rid of the flies.

And, as Pam has pointed out, THIS is the perfect example of world-class dipshittyness.

the gays and lesbians in Isreal should threaten that if anything else is said about this, the earth will tremble and all of Isreal will be swallowed up from the earthquakes that will ensue. except for gays and lesbians of course, cause I'm sure they can pick who they want since they can control the quakes.

Huh. I guess as a gay man, I'm living in the wrong part of the world. I mean, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand must be absolutely TEEMING with homosexuals, as surely the 2004 tsunami is also a sign of God's wrath.
