Stupid Republican Lapdogs Demand Four More Years of Bush

Bush is stupid again, and he's got followers, so be scared. Be very scared. They want him around for four more years.

I commented, rather harshly, on George Bush's claim that Republicans are the ones who bring us "peace and prosperity." Yeah, he is deluded. But his followers are deluded far more. Here it is from the AP:

Bush spoke to a boisterous crowd shortly after 7 a.m. EST. The ballroom erupted in cheers when someone shouted "Are there conservatives in the house?" When the president walked on stage, they clapped and chanted "Four more years! Four more years!"

Bush reached his lowest approval rating in The Associated Press-Ipsos poll on Friday as only 30 percent said they like the job he is doing, including an all-time low in his support by Republicans. Still, the crowd gave him standing ovations, cheering his comments on tax relief, the military buildup in Iraq, the Reagan years and his opposition to abortion. They booed when Bush said his critics want to expand the size and scope of the federal government.

Are these people complete nuts? Do they want government agents to invade their homes? Do they want record inflation, record deficits? Do they want thousands more to die in Iraq while Osama bin Laden gets off scott free?

There's no accounting for stupidity, and this seals it. I know many of my cohorts believe that there's a segment of the population who would vote for George Bush and his policies even if he were a failed President, former Yale cheerleader and drunk, failed former businessman, and a man who has violated several laws of this nation. Of course, they are right. There are evidently many of our countrymen who are mentally ill. Perhaps we could call this "George Bush syndrome" or something.

My goodness.

If Bush doesn't just ignore the (pesky) Constitution (Well, he's never done THAT before...), and stay in office another 4 (or more) years, then is there any guarantee he (or Cheney) won't be nominated for a high position in the new administration if McCain wins the general election?
What is to say that Bush/Cheney won't be pulling strings far into the next decade, even if they do so covertly?
Republicans may indeed be delusional. But they often get their way anyway.

and Cheney are going to power in 2009, anyway? They're probably planning some "national emergency" scenario already that would cause the election to be postponed "indefinitely". If we allow this horses**t to go on any longer, we're going to lose what's left of our country, which isn't much. Also, can we be sure that John Ellis Bush isn't going to be McCain's running mate?

for Bush to remain in office... and he will claim this unprecedented power because he is a "war-time president." This would only be seen as possible IF he were to start a war with Iran before November. He could, according to some of his lunatic "constitutional" scholars, like John Yoo, suspend elections because of - what else - National Security!

I would not be surprised if they didn't do this. "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely." And Bush and Cheney are about as absolutely corrupt as any two I've ever seen before!

Norway, Finland, Belize... sound pretty tempting to me!

Bush is a genius

You all are a bunch of silly rabbits. Bush is a genius and here's why. He convinced the poorest of the poor white, rural whites who have nothing to vote to put yet more money in the hands of the top half-percent. He has done more than any president in a century to create a hereditary plutocracy that functions also as a real ruling class. He has permanently altered the relationship between the administration and the rest of the government and the people, to the extent that he is essentially answerable to no one. His people could start a globally catastrophic war with Iran this afternoon to guarantee we get our hands on our oil there, and nobody can do anything about it. Not bad for a moronic drunkard frat boy who has never done an honest day's work in his life. Your problem is, you're about $50 million too poor to qualify to have an opinion about this. Hmmm?

... ARE there any conservatives in the house?

Record debt, huge increase in government size, huge increase in government power, foreign adventures aplenty.

Are there any conservatives in the house? Because Bush has surely never been one.

Next time someone talks about "tax and spend democrats" remind them who wouldn't tax but insisted on spending... and spending... and spending.. and spending... and spending... and spending... and spending...

Of possible interest: The (Republican) governor of Vermont issued his budget a couple weeks ago and didn't include the $450,000 or so needed for the fall election. In fact, he left that item out altogether. The Secretary of State noted this and was told it would be added in "later." Does Governor Douglas (who ran Bush's campaigns in VT in 2000 and 2004) know something we don't know, or only suspect?

I think what we see as "stupidity" is more likely greed. The few people that are cheering on that fool have had their pcckets lined with gold by him. Of course they want four more years! To hell with the death and poverty left in the path of their march toward more wealth.

Just read that The Texas Turd is down in the polls for approval at 30% so there aren't too many lap dogs crowding his lap. Of course he's doing a whale of a bit better than the Congress who sits at 22%.

Why does no one listen to us?
