Fox Anchor Gibson Celebrates Increase in "Anglo" Birth Rate, Asks "Do You Still Think I’m a Racist?"

Posted by Matt Corley, Think Progress at 2:11 PM on January 17, 2008.

Claiming that "people were following my advice," Gibson exclaimed that he was "not only right," but that it was time for "a John Gibson victory lap."

Bipartisan Concern About the Dangers of McPalin’s Hate-Mongering
Emptywheel Firedoglake

In May 2006, Fox News host John Gibson sparked controversy when he claimed on air that "twenty-five years and the majority of the population is Hispanic" because "Hispanics are having more kids than others" and "white people are having fewer." Worried about the demographic shift in America, Gibson urged his audience to "do your duty. Make more babies."

On his radio show yesterday, Gibson returned to the controversy, touting an Associated Press article about the "baby boomlet" in the U.S. in 2006 as vindication for his call that "the dominant, or largest, population sector, which is Caucasians" should "make more babies." Declaring "I was right," Gibson celebrated the increased birth rate of "non-Hispanic white women":

"The nearly 4.3 million births in 2006 were mostly due to a bigger population, especially a growing number of Hispanics. That group accounted for nearly one-quarter of all U.S. births." As you can tell, Hispanics are doing the hard work of child raising. "But non-Hispanic white women and other racial and ethnic groups were" also "having more babies, too." A big round of applause for all of you out there having those babies.

Claiming that "people were following my advice," Gibson exclaimed that he was "not only right," but "prescient" and that it was time for "a John Gibson victory lap."

Gibson also complained about his critics who called him a "racist" for his May 2006 comments. "I was simply saying look what happened in Europe," said Gibson. Immigrants "having kids like crazy" meant "England wasn't looking so British anymore" because "Anglos" and "selfish white people weren't going through the hard work of having babies."

Demonstrating a lack of self-awareness, Gibson closed the segment by asking his "drooling left wing" critics if they "still think I'm a racist."

The Fraud Of Fraud
The process of turning ACORN into a terrorist sleeper cell has begun and I see little hope that they aren't going to be successful.

Didn't the Nazis believe in this eugenics crap?

Yes, Gibson, I think you are racist. And you are an arrogant shit from what little I know about you. (I admit, I don't watch Faux, so I have never heard this guy.)

As for childless Whites being "selfish": First, lots of people (of all races) don't have kids because of the very selfLESS reason that they don't want to contribute to the world's overpopulation. And what is Gibson saying? That Anglo-Whites should have more babies for the good of their race?
Sounds to me like the Nazi Germans saying that Aryans should have more babies for the good of their "race" and to crowd out the Jews.
Gibson IS a racist, and in the most overt of ways.
There is just no other conclusion I can get from this.

this article didn't say what the "race" of the fathers of all the "white" babies might be...maybe there was an upsurge in "multiracial" births...so gibson, careful not to trip while you run that victory lap.

I also think you're a facist prick with the brains of a dead sponge, the stage presence of something long dead, and recently dug up, and all the charm and wit of a dog-drunk nudist in a Baptist Church on Sunday morning!!!!!

The problem with John Gibson is not racism, he hasn't got the slightest inclination in that direction because his is far too stupid to formulate a comprehensible opinion. His real problem is the profound vacuum between his ears. His unfortunate condition renders him a very interesting candidate for medical anatomical study.
Witness his actions: those of a White House/Ailes/Murdoch trained seal who flaps his flippers, bangs his little drum, blows his toot horn, and brays nonsense when prompted by the producer of Rupert's revival of the old "Gong Show".
A pity what sometimes happens when all the bad recessive genes gang up and inhabit a single individual. Roger Ailes sure knows how to pick 'em.
